1 Now after two days it was the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might get hold of Him by guile, and [how ]they might kill [Him].
1 Faltavam apenas dois dias para a Páscoa e para a festa dos pães sem fermento. Os chefes dos sacerdotes e os mestres da lei estavam procurando um meio de flagrar Jesus em algum erro e matá-lo.
2 But they said, "Not during the feast, lest there be a disturbance of the people."
2 Mas diziam: "Não durante a festa, para que não haja tumulto entre o povo".
3 And while He was in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as He was reclining for a meal, a woman came having an alabaster flask of very costly pure nard. And having broken the flask, she began to pour it out over His head.
3 Estando Jesus em Betânia, reclinado à mesa na casa de um homem conhecido como Simão, o leproso, aproximou-se dele certa mulher com um frasco de alabastro contendo um perfume muito caro, feito de nardo puro. Ela quebrou o frasco e derramou o perfume sobre a cabeça de Jesus.
4 But some were expressing indignation to one another and saying, "Why has this waste of the perfume occurred?
4 Alguns dos presentes começaram a dizer uns aos outros, indignados: "Por que este desperdício de perfume?
5 For it was possible [for] this to be sold for more than three hundred denarii, and to be given to the poor."And they were scolding her.
5 Ele poderia ser vendido por trezentos denários, e o dinheiro dado aos pobres". E a repreendiam severamente.
6 But Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has worked a beautiful work for Me.
6 "Deixem-na em paz", disse Jesus. "Por que a estão perturbando? Ela praticou uma boa ação para comigo.
7 For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish you are able to do them good; but you do not always have Me.
7 Pois os pobres vocês sempre terão consigo, e poderão ajudá-los sempre que o desejarem. Mas a mim vocês nem sempre terão.
8 This [woman] did what she could; she undertook beforehand to anoint My body for burial.
8 Ela fez o que pôde. Derramou o perfume em meu corpo antecipadamente, preparando-o para o sepultamento.
9 And assuredly I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what this woman did will also be spoken as a memorial of her."
9 Eu lhes asseguro que onde quer que o evangelho for anunciado, em todo o mundo, também o que ela fez será contado em sua memória".
10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went off to the chief priests to betray Him to them.
10 Então Judas Iscariotes, um dos Doze, dirigiu-se aos chefes dos sacerdotes a fim de lhes entregar Jesus.
11 And having heard, they rejoiced and promised to give him money. So he was seeking how at some good time he might deliver Him up.
11 A proposta muito os alegrou, e lhe prometeram dinheiro. Assim, ele procurava uma oportunidade para entregá-lo.
12 Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was sacrificed, His disciples said to Him, "Where do You desire that we go and prepare, that You may eat the Passover?"
12 No primeiro dia da festa dos pães sem fermento, quando se costumava sacrificar o cordeiro pascal, os discípulos de Jesus lhe perguntaram: "Aonde queres que vamos e te preparemos a refeição da Páscoa? "
13 And He sent two of His disciples and said to them, "Go into the city, and a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him.
13 Então ele enviou dois de seus discípulos, dizendo-lhes: "Entrem na cidade, e um homem carregando um pote de água virá ao encontro de vocês. Sigam-no
14 And wherever he may enter, say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, "Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?"'
14 e digam ao dono da casa em que ele entrar: ‘O Mestre pergunta: Onde é o meu salão de hóspedes, no qual poderei comer a Páscoa com meus discípulos? ’
15 "Then he will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready; there prepare for us."
15 Ele lhes mostrará uma ampla sala no andar superior, mobiliada e pronta. Façam ali os preparativos para nós".
16 So His disciples went away, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover.
16 Os discípulos se retiraram, entraram na cidade e encontraram tudo como Jesus lhes tinha dito. E prepararam a Páscoa.
17 And when it was evening, He came with the twelve.
17 Ao anoitecer, Jesus chegou com os Doze.
18 And while they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, "Assuredly, I say to you, one of you eating with Me will betray Me."
18 Quando estavam comendo, reclinados à mesa, Jesus disse: "Digo-lhes que certamente um de vocês me trairá, alguém que está comendo comigo".
19 And they began to be sorrowful, and to say to Him one by one, "[Is it] I?"And another said, "[Is it] I?"
19 Eles ficaram tristes e, um por um, lhe disseram: "Com certeza não sou eu! "
20 But answering He said to them, "[It is] one of the twelve, the [one] dipping with Me in the bowl.
20 Afirmou Jesus: "É um dos Doze, alguém que come comigo do mesmo prato.
21 The Son of Man indeed is going away just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man not to have been born."
21 O Filho do homem vai, como está escrito a seu respeito. Mas ai daquele que trai o Filho do homem! Melhor lhe seria não haver nascido".
22 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, "Take, eat; this is My body."
22 Enquanto comiam, Jesus tomou o pão, deu graças, partiu-o, e o deu aos discípulos, dizendo: "Tomem; isto é o meu corpo".
23 And taking the cup and giving thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank from it.
23 Em seguida tomou o cálice, deu graças, ofereceu-o aos discípulos, e todos beberam.
24 And He said to them, "This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many.
24 E lhes disse: "Isto é o meu sangue da aliança, que é derramado em favor de muitos.
25 Assuredly I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God."
25 Eu lhes afirmo que não beberei outra vez do fruto da videira, até aquele dia em que beberei o vinho novo no Reino de Deus".
26 And having sung hymns, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
26 Depois de terem cantado um hino, saíram para o monte das Oliveiras.
27 Then Jesus said to them, "You all will be made to stumble because of Me on this night, for it is written: 'I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.'
27 Disse-lhes Jesus: "Vocês todos me abandonarão. Pois está escrito: ‘Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas serão dispersas’.
28 "But after I am raised, I will go before you into Galilee."
28 Mas, depois de ressuscitar, irei adiante de vocês para a Galiléia".
29 But Peter said to Him, "Even if all will be made to stumble, yet not I."
29 Pedro declarou: "Ainda que todos te abandonem, eu não te abandonarei! "
30 Jesus said to him, "Assuredly I say to you, that you, today on this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times."
30 Respondeu Jesus: "Asseguro-lhe que ainda hoje, esta noite, antes que duas vezes cante o galo, três vezes você me negará".
31 But he kept saying all the more profusely, "If it is necessary for me to die with You, by no means will I deny You!"And they all said likewise.
31 Mas Pedro insistia ainda mais: "Mesmo que seja preciso que eu morra contigo, nunca te negarei". E todos os outros disseram o mesmo.
32 And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, "Sit here while I pray."
32 Então foram para um lugar chamado Getsêmani, e Jesus disse aos seus discípulos: "Sentem-se aqui enquanto vou orar".
33 And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be greatly amazed, and deeply depressed.
33 Levou consigo Pedro, Tiago e João, e começou a ficar aflito e angustiado.
34 Then He said to them, "My soul is deeply grieved to the point of death. Remain here and watch."
34 E lhes disse: "A minha alma está profundamente triste, numa tristeza mortal. Fiquem aqui e vigiem".
35 And having gone forward a little, He fell on the ground, and He was praying, that if it were possible, the hour might pass from Him.
35 Indo um pouco mais adiante, prostrou-se e orava para que, se possível, fosse afastada dele aquela hora.
36 And He said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You [will]."
36 E dizia: "Aba, Pai, tudo te é possível. Afasta de mim este cálice; contudo, não seja o que eu quero, mas sim o que tu queres".
37 Then He came and found them sleeping, and He said to Peter, "Simon, are you sleeping? Were you not strong [enough] to watch one hour?
37 Então, voltou aos seus discípulos e os encontrou dormindo. "Simão", disse ele a Pedro, "você está dormindo? Não pôde vigiar nem por uma hora?
38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is eager, but the flesh is weak."
38 Vigiem e orem para que não caiam em tentação. O espírito está pronto, mas a carne é fraca. "
39 And He went away again and He prayed, saying the same thing.
39 Mais uma vez ele se afastou e orou, repetindo as mesmas palavras.
40 And having returned, He found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what they should answer Him.
40 Quando voltou, de novo os encontrou dormindo, porque seus olhos estavam pesados. Eles não sabiam o que lhe dizer.
41 Then He came the third time and said to them, "Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough! The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners.
41 Voltando pela terceira vez, ele lhes disse: "Vocês ainda dormem e descansam? Basta! Chegou a hora! Eis que o Filho do homem está sendo entregue nas mãos dos pecadores.
42 Rise up, let us go. See, the [one] who betrays Me is at hand."
42 Levantem-se e vamos! Aí vem aquele que me trai! "
43 And immediately, while He was still speaking, Judas arrived, being one of the twelve, and with him a large crowd with swords and clubs, [sent] from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
43 Enquanto ele ainda falava, apareceu Judas, um dos Doze. Com ele estava uma multidão armada de espadas e varas, enviada pelos chefes dos sacerdotes, mestres da lei e líderes religiosos.
44 Now His betrayer had given to them a sign, saying, "Whomever I shall kiss, He is [the One]; take Him and lead [Him] away safely."
44 O traidor havia combinado um sinal com eles: "Aquele a quem eu saudar com um beijo, é ele: prendam-no e levem-no em segurança".
45 And when he arrived, immediately he approached Him and said to Him, "Rabbi, Rabbi!"and he affectionately kissed Him.
45 Dirigindo-se imediatamente a Jesus, Judas disse: "Mestre! ", e o beijou.
46 Then they laid their hands on Him and seized Him.
46 Os homens agarraram Jesus e o prenderam.
47 But a certain one of those standing by drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.
47 Então, um dos que estavam por perto puxou a espada e feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote, decepando-lhe a orelha.
48 Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Have you come out, as against a bandit, with swords and clubs to arrest Me?
48 Disse Jesus: "Estou eu chefiando alguma rebelião, para que vocês venham me prender com espadas e varas?
49 Daily I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But that the Scriptures may be fulfilled."
49 Todos os dias eu estava com vocês, ensinando no templo, e vocês não me prenderam. Mas as Escrituras precisam ser cumpridas".
50 Then they all forsook Him and fled.
50 Então todos o abandonaram e fugiram.
51 Now a certain young man had followed Him, having a linen cloth thrown around his naked body. And the young men seized him,
51 Um jovem, vestindo apenas um lençol de linho, estava seguindo a Jesus. Quando tentaram prendê-lo,
52 but leaving behind the linen cloth, he fled from them naked.
52 ele fugiu nu, deixando o lençol para trás.
53 And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes.
53 Levaram Jesus ao sumo sacerdote; e então se reuniram todos os chefes dos sacerdotes, os líderes religiosos e os mestres da lei.
54 But Peter followed Him from a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest, and he was sitting together with the attendants and warming himself at the fire.
54 Pedro o seguiu de longe até o pátio do sumo sacerdote. Sentando-se ali com os guardas, esquentava-se junto ao fogo.
55 Now the chief priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus, in order to put Him to death, but found none.
55 Os chefes dos sacerdotes e todo o Sinédrio estavam procurando depoimentos contra Jesus, para que pudessem condená-lo à morte, mas não encontravam nenhum.
56 For many were testifying falsely against Him, but their testimonies were not the same.
56 Muitos testemunharam falsamente contra ele, mas as declarações deles não eram coerentes.
57 Then some stood up and were testifying falsely against Him, saying,
57 Então se levantaram alguns e declararam falsamente contra ele:
58 "We heard Him saying, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands, and after three days I will build another [one ]not made with hands.' "
58 "Nós o ouvimos dizer: ‘Destruirei este templo feito por mãos humanas e em três dias construirei outro, não feito por mãos de homens’ ".
59 But not even in this way was their testimony the same.
59 Mas, nem mesmo assim, o depoimento deles era coerente.
60 And the high priest stood up and came forward and questioned Jesus, saying, "Do You answer nothing? What are these men testifying against You?"
60 Depois o sumo sacerdote levantou-se diante deles e perguntou a Jesus: "Você não vai responder à acusação que estes lhe fazem? "
61 But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest was questioning Him, saying to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"
61 Mas Jesus permaneceu em silêncio e nada respondeu. Outra vez o sumo sacerdote lhe perguntou: "Você é o Cristo, o Filho do Deus Bendito? "
62 And Jesus said, "I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."
62 "Sou", disse Jesus. "E vereis o Filho do homem assentado à direita do Poderoso vindo com as nuvens do céu".
63 Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "What further need do we have of witnesses?
63 O sumo sacerdote, rasgando as próprias vestes, perguntou: "Por que precisamos de mais testemunhas?
64 You have heard the blasphemy! How does it appear to you?"And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death.
64 Vocês ouviram a blasfêmia. Que acham? " Todos o julgaram digno de morte.
65 Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with [their] fists, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!"And the attendants were striking Him with slaps [to the face.]
65 Então alguns começaram a cuspir nele; vendaram-lhe os olhos e, dando-lhe murros, diziam: "Profetize! " E os guardas o levaram, dando-lhe tapas.
66 Now as Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came.
66 Estando Pedro em baixo, no pátio, uma das criadas do sumo sacerdote passou por ali.
67 And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked at him and said, "You also were with Jesus the Nazarene."
67 Vendo Pedro a aquecer-se, olhou bem para ele e disse: "Você também estava com Jesus, o Nazareno".
68 But he denied it, saying, "I neither know nor understand what you are saying."And he went outside into the forecourt, and a rooster crowed.
68 Contudo ele o negou, dizendo: "Não o conheço, nem sei do que você está falando". E saiu para o alpendre.
69 And the servant girl seeing him again, began to say to those standing by, "This [man] is one of them."
69 Quando a criada o viu lá, disse novamente aos que estavam por perto: "Esse aí é um deles".
70 But again he was denying [it]. And a little later those who were standing by said to Peter again, "Truly you are one of them; for you are also a Galilean, and your accent is like [theirs]."
70 De novo ele negou. Pouco tempo depois, os que estavam sentados ali perto disseram a Pedro: "Certamente você é um deles. Você é galileu! "
71 Then he began to curse and to swear, "I do not know this Man whom you are speaking of"
71 Ele começou a se amaldiçoar e a jurar: "Não conheço o homem de quem vocês estão falando! "
72 And for the second [time] a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said to him, "Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times."And when he thought about it, he began to weep.
72 E logo o galo cantou pela segunda vez. Então Pedro se lembrou da palavra que Jesus lhe tinha dito: "Antes que duas vezes cante o galo, você me negará três vezes". E se pôs a chorar.
