1 Was now the passover and the unleavened cakes after two days; and sought the highpriests and the scribes, how him by deceit seizing they might kill.
1 Dali a dois dias, era a Páscoa e a Festa dos Pães Asmos; e os principais sacerdotes e os escribas procuravam como o prenderiam, à traição, e o matariam.
2 They said but: Not in the feast, lest a tumult shall be of the people.
2 Pois diziam: Não durante a festa, para que não haja tumulto entre o povo.
3 And being of him in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, reclining of him, came a woman having an alabaster box of balsam, of spikenard genuine very costly; and breaking the alabaster box, she poured of it down on the head.
3 Estando ele em Betânia, reclinado à mesa, em casa de Simão, o leproso, veio uma mulher trazendo um vaso de alabastro com preciosíssimo perfume de nardo puro; e, quebrando o alabastro, derramou o bálsamo sobre a cabeça de Jesus.
4 Were and some being angry to themselves, and saying: For what the loss this of the balsam has been made?
4 Indignaram-se alguns entre si e diziam: Para que este desperdício de bálsamo?
5 Could for this of the balsam to be sold more three hundred denarii, and to be given to the poor. And they censured her.
5 Porque este perfume poderia ser vendido por mais de trezentos denários e dar-se aos pobres. E murmuravam contra ela.
6 The but Jesus said: Let alone her; why to her troubles present you? good a work she has wrought in me.
6 Mas Jesus disse: Deixai-a; por que a molestais? Ela praticou boa ação para comigo.
7 Always for the poor you have with yourselves, and, when you will, you can them good to do; me but not always you have.
7 Porque os pobres, sempre os tendes convosco e, quando quiserdes, podeis fazer-lhes bem, mas a mim nem sempre me tendes.

8 Ela fez o que pôde: antecipou-se a ungir-me para a sepultura.

9 Em verdade vos digo: onde for pregado em todo o mundo o evangelho, será também contado o que ela fez, para memória sua.
10 And the Judas the Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the highpriests, that he might deliver up him to them.
10 E Judas Iscariotes, um dos doze, foi ter com os principais sacerdotes, para lhes entregar Jesus.
11 They and hearing were glad; and promised him silver to give. And he sought, how conveniently him he might deliver up.
11 Eles, ouvindo-o, alegraram-se e lhe prometeram dinheiro; nesse meio tempo, buscava ele uma boa ocasião para o entregar.
12 And the first day of the unleavened cakes, when the paschal lamb was sacrificed, they say to him the disciples of him: Where wilt thou having gone we make ready, that thou mayest eat the passover?
12 E, no primeiro dia da Festa dos Pães Asmos, quando se fazia o sacrifício do cordeiro pascal, disseram-lhe seus discípulos: Onde queres que vamos fazer os preparativos para comeres a Páscoa?
13 And he sends two of the disciples of himself, and he says to them: Go you into the city; and will meet you a man a pitcher of water carrying; follow him;
13 Então, enviou dois dos seus discípulos, dizendo-lhes: Ide à cidade, e vos sairá ao encontro um homem trazendo um cântaro de água;
14 and wherever he may enter, say to the householder: That the teacher says: Where is the guestchamber, where the passover with the disciples of me I may eat?
14 segui-o e dizei ao dono da casa onde ele entrar que o Mestre pergunta: Onde é o meu aposento no qual hei de comer a Páscoa com os meus discípulos?
15 And he to you will show an upper room large having been furnished ready; there prepare you for for us.
15 E ele vos mostrará um espaçoso cenáculo mobilado e pronto; ali fazei os preparativos.
16 And went forth the disciples of him, and came into the city, and found even as he said to them; and they prepared the passover.
16 Saíram, pois, os discípulos, foram à cidade e, achando tudo como Jesus lhes tinha dito, prepararam a Páscoa.
17 And evening being come, he comes with the twelve.
17 Ao cair da tarde, foi com os doze.
18 And reclining of them and eating, said the Jesus: Indeed I say to you, that one of you will deliver up me, who is eating with me.
18 Quando estavam à mesa e comiam, disse Jesus: Em verdade vos digo que um dentre vós, o que come comigo, me trairá.
19 They and began to be sorrowful, and to say to him one by one: Not I? and another: Not I?
19 E eles começaram a entristecer-se e a dizer-lhe, um após outro: Porventura, sou eu?
20 He but answering said to them: One of the twelve, that dipping in with me into the bowl.
20 Respondeu-lhes: É um dos doze, o que mete comigo a mão no prato.
21 The indeed son of the man goes away, even as it has been written concerning him; woe but to the man that, through whom the son of the man is delivered up; good it was to him, if not was born the man that.
21 Pois o Filho do Homem vai, como está escrito a seu respeito; mas ai daquele por intermédio de quem o Filho do Homem está sendo traído! Melhor lhe fora não haver nascido!
22 And eating of them, taking the Jesus a loaf, having blessed he broke and gave to them, and said: Take; this is the body of me.
22 E, enquanto comiam, tomou Jesus um pão e, abençoando-o, o partiu e lhes deu, dizendo: Tomai, isto é o meu corpo.
23 And taking the cup, having given thanks he gave to them; and they drank out of it all.
23 A seguir, tomou Jesus um cálice e, tendo dado graças, o deu aos seus discípulos; e todos beberam dele.
24 And he said to them: This is the blood of me, that of the new covenant, that concerning many being shed.
24 Então, lhes disse: Isto é o meu sangue, o sangue da [nova] aliança, derramado em favor de muitos.
25 Indeed I say to you, that no more not not I will drink of the product the vine till the day that, when it I drink new in the kingdom of the God.
25 Em verdade vos digo que jamais beberei do fruto da videira, até àquele dia em que o hei de beber, novo, no reino de Deus.
26 And having sung a hymn, they departed to the mountain of the olive trees.
26 Tendo cantado um hino, saíram para o monte das Oliveiras.
27 And says to them the Jesus: That all will be stumbled at me in the night this; for it written: I will smite the shepherd, and will be scattered the sheep.
27 Então, lhes disse Jesus: Todos vós vos escandalizareis, porque está escrito:
28 But after the to be raised me, I will go before you into the Galilee.
28 Mas, depois da minha ressurreição, irei adiante de vós para a Galileia.
29 The but Peter said to him: Even if all shall be stumbled, yet not I.
29 Disse-lhe Pedro: Ainda que todos se escandalizem, eu, jamais!
30 And says to him the Jesus: Indeed I say to thee, that thou thisday in the night this, before twice a cock to have crowed, thrice thou wilt deny me.
30 Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo que hoje, nesta noite, antes que duas vezes cante o galo, tu me negarás três vezes.
31 He but with vehemence spoke more: If me must to die with thee, not not thee I will deny. In like manner and also all they said.
31 Mas ele insistia com mais veemência: Ainda que me seja necessário morrer contigo, de nenhum modo te negarei. Assim disseram todos.
32 And they came to a place, of which the name Gethsemane; and he says to the disciples of himself: Sit you here, till I shall pray.
32 Então, foram a um lugar chamado Getsêmani; ali chegados, disse Jesus a seus discípulos: Assentai-vos aqui, enquanto eu vou orar.
33 And he takes the Peter and James and John with himself; and began to be greatly amazed and to be in anguish.
33 E, levando consigo a Pedro, Tiago e João, começou a sentir-se tomado de pavor e de angústia.
34 And he says to them: Extremely sorrowful is the soul of me even to death; remain you here, and watch.
34 E lhes disse: A minha alma está profundamente triste até à morte; ficai aqui e vigiai.
35 And going forward a little, he fell on the ground; and prayed, that, if possible it is, might pass from him the hour.
35 E, adiantando-se um pouco, prostrou-se em terra; e orava para que, se possível, lhe fosse poupada aquela hora.
36 And he said: Abba the Father, all (things) possible to thee; take the cup from me this. But not, what I will, but what thou.
36 E dizia: Aba, Pai, tudo te é possível; passa de mim este cálice; contudo, não seja o que eu quero, e sim o que tu queres.
37 And he comes, and finds them sleeping; and he says to the Peter: Simon, sleepest thou? not couldst thou one hour to watch?
37 Voltando, achou-os dormindo; e disse a Pedro: Simão, tu dormes? Não pudeste vigiar nem uma hora?
38 Watch you and pray you, that not you enter into temptation; the indeed spirit ready, the but flesh weak.
38 Vigiai e orai, para que não entreis em tentação; o espírito, na verdade, está pronto, mas a carne é fraca.
39 And again going away he prayed, the same word saying.
39 Retirando-se de novo, orou repetindo as mesmas palavras.
40 And having returned, he found them again sleeping; were for the eyes of them weighed down and not they knew, what to him they might answer.
40 Voltando, achou-os outra vez dormindo, porque os seus olhos estavam pesados; e não sabiam o que lhe responder.
41 And he comes the third, and he says to them: Do you sleep the now and rest you? it is enough, is come the hour; lo, is delivered up the son of the man into the hands of the sinners.
41 E veio pela terceira vez e disse-lhes: Ainda dormis e repousais! Basta! Chegou a hora; o Filho do Homem está sendo entregue nas mãos dos pecadores.
42 Arise, let us go, lo, he delivering up me has come near.
42 Levantai-vos, vamos! Eis que o traidor se aproxima.
43 And immediately, while of him speaking, comes Judas, one being of the twelve, and with him crowd great with swords and clubs, from the highpriests and the scribes and the elders.
43 E logo, falava ele ainda, quando chegou Judas, um dos doze, e com ele, vinda da parte dos principais sacerdotes, escribas e anciãos, uma turba com espadas e porretes.
44 Had given and he delivering up him a signal to them, saying: Whoever I may kiss, he it is; seize him and lead away safely.
44 Ora, o traidor tinha-lhes dado esta senha: Aquele a quem eu beijar, é esse; prendei-o e levai-o com segurança.
45 And coming, immediately approaching to him, he says: Rabbi, rabbi; and kissed him.
45 E, logo que chegou, aproximando-se, disse-lhe: Mestre! E o beijou.
46 They then laid on him the hands of them, and seized him.
46 Então, lhe deitaram as mãos e o prenderam.
47 One and a certain of those standing, drawing the sword, struck the slave of the highpriest, and cut off of him the ear.
47 Nisto, um dos circunstantes, sacando da espada, feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote e cortou-lhe a orelha.
48 And answering the Jesus said to them: As upon a robber came you out with swords and clubs, to take me.
48 Disse-lhes Jesus: Saístes com espadas e porretes para prender-me, como a um salteador?
49 Every day I was with you in the temple teaching, and not you seized me; but that must be fulfilled the writings.
49 Todos os dias eu estava convosco no templo, ensinando, e não me prendestes; contudo, é para que se cumpram as Escrituras.
50 And leaving him all they fled.
50 Então, deixando-o, todos fugiram.
51 And one a certain young man followed him, wrapped about a linen cloth on naked; and they seized him the young men.
51 Seguia-o um jovem, coberto unicamente com um lençol, e lançaram-lhe a mão.
52 He but leaving the linen cloth, naked he fled from them.
52 Mas ele, largando o lençol, fugiu desnudo.
53 And they led the Jesus to the highpriest; and came together to him all the highpriests, and the elders, and the scribes.
53 E levaram Jesus ao sumo sacerdote, e reuniram-se todos os principais sacerdotes, os anciãos e os escribas.
54 And the Peter at a distance followed him even to into the place of the highpriest; and was sitting in company with the attendants, and warming himself to the light.
54 Pedro seguira-o de longe até ao interior do pátio do sumo sacerdote e estava assentado entre os serventuários, aquentando-se ao fogo.
55 The and highpriests and whole the high council sought against the Jesus testimony for the to put to death him; and not they found.
55 E os principais sacerdotes e todo o Sinédrio procuravam algum testemunho contra Jesus para o condenar à morte e não achavam.
56 Many for testified falsely against him, but consistent the testimonies not were.
56 Pois muitos testemunhavam falsamente contra Jesus, mas os depoimentos não eram coerentes.
57 And some having stood up, testified falsely against him, saying:
57 E, levantando-se alguns, testificavam falsamente, dizendo:
58 That we heard him saying: That I will destroy the temple this the made with hands, and in three days another made without hands I will build.
58 Nós o ouvimos declarar: Eu destruirei este santuário edificado por mãos humanas e, em três dias, construirei outro, não por mãos humanas.
59 And not even thus consistent was the testimony of them.
59 Nem assim o testemunho deles era coerente.
60 And arising the highpriest in midst, he asked the Jesus, saying: Not answerest thou nothing? what these of thee testify against?
60 Levantando-se o sumo sacerdote, no meio, perguntou a Jesus: Nada respondes ao que estes depõem contra ti?
61 He but was silent and nothing he answered. Again the highpriest asked him and says to him: Thou art the Anointed, the son of the Blessed?
61 Ele, porém, guardou silêncio e nada respondeu. Tornou a interrogá-lo o sumo sacerdote e lhe disse: És tu o Cristo, o Filho do Deus Bendito?
62 The and Jesus said: I am; and you shall see the son of the man at right sitting of the power, and coming with the clouds of the heaven.
62 Jesus respondeu: Eu sou, e vereis o Filho do Homem assentado à direita do Todo-Poderoso e vindo com as nuvens do céu.
63 The and highpriest, having rent the clothes of himself, says: What further need we have of witnesses?
63 Então, o sumo sacerdote rasgou as suas vestes e disse: Que mais necessidade temos de testemunhas?
64 You have heard the blasphemy; what to you appears? They but all condemned him to be deserving of death.
64 Ouvistes a blasfêmia; que vos parece? E todos o julgaram réu de morte.
65 And began some to spit upon him, and to cover the face of him, and to beat with the fist him, and to say to him: Prophesy. And the attendants with open hands him beat.
65 Puseram-se alguns a cuspir nele, a cobrir-lhe o rosto, a dar-lhe murros e a dizer-lhe: Profetiza! E os guardas o tomaram a bofetadas.
66 And being the Peter in the courtyard below, comes one of the maidservants of the highpriest;
66 Estando Pedro embaixo no pátio, veio uma das criadas do sumo sacerdote
67 and seeing the Peter warming himself, she looking to him says: And thou with the Nazarene Jesus wast.
67 e, vendo a Pedro, que se aquentava, fixou-o e disse: Tu também estavas com Jesus, o Nazareno.
68 He but denied, saying: Not know, nor comprehend what thou sayest. And he went out into the outer court; and a cock crew.
68 Mas ele o negou, dizendo: Não o conheço, nem compreendo o que dizes. E saiu para o alpendre. [E o galo cantou.]
69 And the maidservant seeing him again began to say to the having stood by: That this of them is.
69 E a criada, vendo-o, tornou a dizer aos circunstantes: Este é um deles.
70 He and again denied. And after a little again those having stood by said to the Peter: Truly of them thou art; also for a Galilean thou art, and the speech of thee is like.
70 Mas ele outra vez o negou. E, pouco depois, os que ali estavam disseram a Pedro: Verdadeiramente, és um deles, porque também tu és galileu.
71 He then began to curse and swear: That not I know the man this, of whom you say.
71 Ele, porém, começou a praguejar e a jurar: Não conheço esse homem de quem falais!
72 And of second cock crew. And remembered the Peter the word, of which said to him the Jesus: That before a cock to have crowed twice, thou wilt deny me thrice. And reflecting he wept.
72 E logo cantou o galo pela segunda vez. Então, Pedro se lembrou da palavra que Jesus lhe dissera: Antes que duas vezes cante o galo, tu me negarás três vezes. E, caindo em si, desatou a chorar.
