1 Was and certain sick one, Lazarus, from Bethany, out of the village of Mary and Martha the sister of her.
1 Um homem chamado Lázaro estava doente. Ele morava em Betânia com suas irmãs, Maria e Marta.
2 (Was and Mary the having anointed the Lord with balsam, and wiped the feet of him with the hairs of herself; of whom the brother Lazarus was stick.)
2 Foi Maria, a irmã de Lázaro, que mais tarde derramou perfume caro nos pés do Senhor e os enxugou com os cabelos.
3 Sent therefore the sisters to him, saying: O lord, lo, whom thou lovest is sick.
3 As duas irmãs enviaram um recado a Jesus, dizendo: “Senhor, seu amigo querido está muito doente”.
4 Having heard and the Jesus said: This the sickness not is to death, but on account of the glory of the God, that may be glorified the son of the God through her.
4 Quando Jesus ouviu isso, disse: “A doença de Lázaro não acabará em morte. Ela aconteceu para a glória de Deus, para que o Filho de Deus receba glória por meio dela”.
5 Loved now the Jesus the Martha, and the sister of her, and the Lazarus.
5 Jesus amava Marta, Maria e Lázaro.
6 When then he heard, that he was sick, then indeed he abode in which he was place two days.
6 Ouvindo, portanto, que Lázaro estava doente, ficou mais dois dias onde estava.
7 Then after this he says to the disciples: Let us go into the Judea again.
7 Depois, disse a seus discípulos: “Vamos voltar para a Judeia”.
8 Say to him the disciples: Rabbi, now sought thee to stone the Jews, and again goest thou there?
8 Os discípulos se opuseram, dizendo: “Rabi, apenas alguns dias atrás o povo da Judeia tentou apedrejá-lo. Ainda assim, o senhor vai voltar para lá?”.
9 Answered Jesus: Not twelve are hours of the day? If any one may walk in the day, not he stumbles, because the light of the world this he sees.
9 Jesus respondeu: “Há doze horas de claridade todos os dias. Durante o dia, as pessoas podem andar com segurança. Conseguem enxergar, pois têm a luz deste mundo.
10 If but any one may walk in the night, he stumbles, because the light not is in him.
10 À noite, porém, correm o risco de tropeçar, pois não há luz”.
11 These things he said; and after this he says to them: Lazarus the friend of us is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him.
11 E acrescentou: “Nosso amigo Lázaro adormeceu, mas agora vou despertá-lo”.
12 Said then the disciples of him: O lord, if he is fallen asleep, he shall be saved.
12 Os discípulos disseram: “Senhor, se ele dorme é porque logo vai melhorar!”.
13 Had spoken but the Jesus about the death of him; they but thought, that concerning the repose of the sleep he speaks.
13 Pensavam que Jesus falava apenas do repouso do sono, mas ele se referia à morte de Lázaro.
14 Then therefore said to them the Jesus plainly: Lazarus died;
14 Então ele disse claramente: “Lázaro está morto.
15 and I rejoice because of you, that you may believe, that not I was there; but we may go to him.
15 E, por causa de vocês, eu me alegro por não ter estado lá, pois agora vocês vão crer de fato. Venham, vamos até ele”.
16 Said then Thomas, that being called a twin, to the fellowdisciples: May go also we, that we may die with him.
16 Tomé, apelidado de Gêmeo, disse aos outros discípulos: “Vamos até lá também para morrer com Jesus”.
17 Coming therefore the Jesus found him four days already been in the tomb.
17 Quando Jesus chegou a Betânia, disseram-lhe que Lázaro estava no túmulo havia quatro dias.
18 Was now the Bethany near the Jerusalem, about from furlongs fifteen.
18 Betânia ficava a cerca de três quilômetros de Jerusalém,
19 And many of the Jews had come to those about Martha and Mary, that they might comfort them concerning the brother of them.
19 e muitos moradores da região tinham vindo consolar Marta e Maria pela perda do irmão.
20 The then Martha when she heard, that Jesus was coming, met him; Mary but in the house was sitting.
20 Quando Marta soube que Jesus estava chegando, foi ao seu encontro. Maria, porém, ficou em casa.
21 Said then the Martha to the Jesus: O lord, if thou hadst been here, the brother of me not would have died;
21 Marta disse a Jesus: “Se o Senhor estivesse aqui, meu irmão não teria morrido.
22 but and now I know, that whatever things thou mayest ask the God, will give to thee the God.
22 Mas sei que, mesmo agora, Deus lhe dará tudo que pedir”.
23 Says of her the Jesus: Will rise again the brother of thee.
23 Jesus lhe disse: “Seu irmão vai ressuscitar”.
24 Says to him Martha: I know, that he will rise again, in the resurrection in the last day.
24 “Sim”, respondeu Marta. “Ele vai ressuscitar quando todos ressuscitarem, no último dia.”
25 Said to her the Jesus: I am the resurrection and the life; he believing into me, even if he may die, he shall live;
25 Então Jesus disse: “Eu sou a ressurreição e a vida. Quem crê em mim viverá, mesmo depois de morrer.
26 and all the living and believing into me, not not may die into the age. Believest thou this?
26 Quem vive e crê em mim jamais morrerá. Você crê nisso, Marta?”.
27 She says to him: Yes, O lord, I have believed, that thou art the Anointed, the son of the God, he into the world coming.
27 “Sim, Senhor”, respondeu ela. “Eu creio que o senhor é o Cristo, o Filho de Deus, aquele que veio ao mundo da parte de Deus.”
28 And these things saying, she went, and called Mary the sister of her privately, saying: The teacher is present, and calls thee.
28 Em seguida, voltou para casa. Chamou Maria à parte e disse: “O Mestre está aqui e quer ver você”.
29 She when she heard, rises up quickly, and comes to him.
29 Maria se levantou de imediato e foi até ele.
30 (Not yet now had come the Jesus into the village; but was in the place, where met him the Martha.)
30 Jesus tinha ficado fora do povoado, no lugar onde Marta havia se encontrado com ele.
31 The therefore Jews, those being with her in the house and were comforting her, seeing the Mary, that quickly she rose up and went out, followed her, saying: That she goes into the tomb, that she may weep there.
31 Quando as pessoas que estavam na casa viram Maria sair apressadamente, imaginaram que ela ia ao túmulo de Lázaro chorar e a seguiram.
32 The therefore Mary when came where was the Jesus, seeing him, she fell of him to the feet, saying to him: O lord, if thou hadst been there, not would have died of me the brother.
32 Assim que chegou ao lugar onde Jesus estava e o viu, caiu a seus pés e disse: “Se o Senhor estivesse aqui, meu irmão não teria morrido”.
33 Jesus therefore when he saw her weeping, and those having come with her Jews weeping, he was agitated in the spirit, and troubled himself,
33 Quando Jesus viu Maria chorar, e o povo também, sentiu profunda indignação e grande angústia.
34 and said: Where have you laid him? They say to him: O lord, come, and see.
34 “Onde vocês o colocaram?”, perguntou. Eles responderam: “Senhor, venha e veja”.
35 Wept the Jesus.
35 Jesus chorou.
36 Said then the Jews: See, how he loved him.
36 As pessoas que estavam por perto disseram: “Vejam como ele o amava!”.
37 Some but of them said: Not was able this, he having opened the eyes of the blind to have caused, that even this not should die?
37 Outros, porém, disseram: “Este homem curou um cego. Não poderia ter impedido que Lázaro morresse?”.
38 Jesus therefore again being agitated in himself, comes to the tomb. It was now a cave, and a stone was lying on it.
38 Jesus, sentindo-se novamente indignado, chegou ao túmulo, uma gruta com uma pedra fechando a entrada.
39 Says the Jesus: Take away the stone. Says to him the sister of the having died, Martha: O lord, now he smelling; fourth day for it is.
39 “Rolem a pedra para o lado”, ordenou. “Senhor, ele está morto há quatro dias”, disse Marta, a irmã do falecido. “O mau cheiro será terrível.”
40 Says to her the Jesus: Not I said to thee, that if thou wouldst believe, thou shalt see the glory of the God?
40 Jesus respondeu: “Eu não lhe disse que, se você cresse, veria a glória de Deus?”.
41 They took away then the stone. The but Jesus lifted up the eyes above, and said: O Father, I give thanks to thee, that thou didst hear me.
41 Então rolaram a pedra para o lado. Jesus olhou para o céu e disse: “Pai, eu te agradeço porque me ouviste.
42 I and knew, that always me thou hearest; but on account of the crowd that standing I spoke, so that they may believe, that thou me has sent.
42 Tu sempre me ouves, mas eu disse isso por causa de todas as pessoas que estão aqui, para que elas creiam que tu me enviaste”.
43 And these things saying, with a voice loud he cried out: O Lazarus, come out.
43 Então Jesus gritou: “Lázaro, venha para fora!”.
44 Came out he having been dead, having been bound the feet and the hands with bandages, and the face of him with a napkin bound about. Says to them the Jesus: Loose you him, and allow to go.
44 E o morto saiu, com as mãos e os pés presos com faixas e o rosto envolto num pano. Jesus disse: “Desamarrem as faixas e deixem-no ir!”.
45 Many therefore of the Jews, those having come to the Mary, and having gazed upon what he did, believed into him.
45 Muitos dos judeus que estavam com Maria creram em Jesus quando viram isso.
46 Some but of them went to the Pharisees, and told them what did the Jesus.
46 Alguns, no entanto, foram aos fariseus e contaram o que Jesus tinha feito.
47 Assembled then the highpriests and the Pharisees a high council, and said: What are we doing? because this the man many signs does.
47 Então os principais sacerdotes e fariseus reuniram o conselho dos líderes do povo. “Que vamos fazer?”, perguntavam uns aos outros. “Sem dúvida, este homem realiza muitos sinais.
48 If we allow him thus, all will believe into him; and will come the Romans, and will take away of us both the place and the nation.
48 Se permitirmos que continue assim, logo todos crerão nele. Então o exército romano virá e destruirá nosso templo e nossa nação.”
49 One and a certain of them, Caiaphas, highpriest being of the year that, said to them: You not know nothing.
49 Caifás, o sumo sacerdote naquele ano, disse: “Vocês não sabem o que estão dizendo!
50 Neither do you consider, that it is better for us, that one man should die in behalf of the people, and not whole the nation should perish.
50 Não percebem que é melhor para vocês que um homem morra pelo povo em vez de a nação inteira ser destruída?”.
51 This but from himself not he said; but highpriest being of the year that, he prophesied, that was about Jesus to die in behalf of the nation;
51 Não disse isso por si mesmo, mas, sendo o sumo sacerdote naquele ano, profetizou que Jesus morreria pela nação inteira.
52 and not in behalf of the nation alone, but that also the children of the God those having been scattered he should gather into one.
52 E não apenas por aquela nação, mas para reunir em um só corpo todos os filhos de Deus espalhados ao redor do mundo.
53 From that therefore the day they took counsel together, that they might kill him.
53 Daquele dia em diante, começaram a tramar a morte de Jesus.
54 Jesus therefore no longer publicly walked among the Jews, but went away thence into the country near the desert, into Ephraim being called a city; and there remained with the disciples of himself.
54 Por essa razão, Jesus parou de andar no meio do povo. Foi para um lugar próximo do deserto, para o povoado de Efraim, onde permaneceu com seus discípulos.
55 Was and near the passover the Jews; and went up many into Jerusalem out of the country before the passover, that they might purify themselves.
55 Faltava pouco tempo para a festa judaica da Páscoa, e muita gente de toda a região chegou a Jerusalém para participar da cerimônia de purificação, antes que a Páscoa começasse.
56 They sought then the Jesus, and said with each other in the temple standing: What think you? that not not he may come to the feast?
56 Continuavam procurando Jesus e, estando eles no templo, perguntavam uns aos outros: “O que vocês acham? Será que ele virá para a Páscoa?”.
57 Had given now both the highpriests and the Pharisees a commandment, that if any one should know where he is, he should show, how they might seize him.
57 Enquanto isso, os principais sacerdotes e fariseus deram ordem para que, se alguém soubesse onde Jesus estava, o denunciasse de imediato, a fim de que o prendessem.
