Darby Bible (DARBY) vs NVI
1 Better is a poor {man} that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
1 Melhor é o pobre que vive com integridade do que o tolo que fala perversamente.
2 Also that a person be without knowledge is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet maketh false steps.
2 Não é bom ter zelo sem conhecimento, nem ser precipitado e perder o caminho.
3 The folly of man distorteth his way, and his heart is irritated against Jehovah.
3 É a insensatez do homem que arruína a sua vida, mas o seu coração se ira contra o Senhor.
4 Wealth addeth many friends; but the poor is separated from his friend.
4 A riqueza traz muitos amigos, mas até o amigo do pobre o abandona.
5 A false witness shall not be held innocent, and he that uttereth lies shall not escape.
5 A testemunha falsa não ficará sem castigo, e aquele que despeja mentiras não sairá livre.
6 Many court the favour of a noble; and every one is friend to a man that giveth.
6 Muitos adulam o governante, e todos são amigos de quem dá presentes.
7 All the brethren of a poor {man} hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him: he pursueth {them} with words, -they are not {to be found}.
7 O pobre é desprezado por todos os seus parentes, quanto mais por seus amigos! Embora os procure, para pedir-lhes ajuda, não os encontra em lugar nenhum.
8 He that getteth sense loveth his own soul; he that keepeth understanding shall find good.
8 Quem obtém sabedoria ama-se a si mesmo; quem acalenta o entendimento prospera.
9 A false witness shall not be held innocent, and he that uttereth lies shall perish.
9 A testemunha falsa não ficará sem castigo, e aquele que despeja mentiras perecerá.
10 Good living beseemeth not a fool; how much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
10 Não fica bem o tolo viver no luxo; quanto pior é o servo dominar príncipes!
11 The discretion of a man maketh him slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
11 A sabedoria do homem lhe dá paciência; sua glória é ignorar as ofensas.
12 The king's displeasure is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
12 A ira do rei é como o rugido do leão, mas a sua bondade é como o orvalho sobre a relva.
13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father; and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
13 O filho tolo é a ruína de seu pai, e a esposa briguenta é como uma goteira constante.
14 House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers; but a prudent wife is from Jehovah.
14 Casas e riquezas herdam-se dos pais, mas a esposa prudente vem do Senhor.
15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep, and the idle soul shall suffer hunger.
15 A preguiça leva ao sono profundo, e o preguiçoso passa fome.
16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his soul; he that is careless of his ways shall die.
16 Quem obedece aos mandamentos preserva a sua vida, mas quem despreza os seus caminhos morrerá.
17 He that is gracious to the poor lendeth unto Jehovah; and what he hath bestowed will he repay unto him.
17 Quem trata bem os pobres empresta ao Senhor, e ele o recompensará.
18 Chasten thy son, seeing there is hope; but set not thy soul upon killing him.
18 Discipline seu filho, pois nisso há esperança; não queiras a morte dele.
19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment; for if thou deliver {him}, yet thou must do it again.
19 O homem de gênio difícil precisa do castigo; se você o poupar, terá que poupá-lo de novo.
20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
20 Ouça conselhos e aceite instruções, e acabará sendo sábio.
21 Many are the thoughts in a man's heart, but the counsel of Jehovah, that doth stand.
21 Muitos são os planos no coração do homem, mas o que prevalece é o propósito do Senhor.
22 The charm of a man is his kindness; and a poor {man} is better than a liar.
22 O que se deseja ver num homem é amor perene; melhor é ser pobre do que mentiroso.
23 The fear of Jehovah {tendeth} to life, and he {that hath it} shall rest satisfied without being visited with evil.
23 O temor do Senhor conduz à vida: Quem o teme pode descansar em paz, livre de problemas.
24 A sluggard burieth his hand in the dish, and will not even bring it to his mouth again.
24 O preguiçoso põe a mão no prato, e não se dá ao trabalho de levá-la à boca!
25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware; reprove the intelligent, and he will understand knowledge.
25 Açoite o zombador, e os inexperientes aprenderão a prudência; repreenda o homem de discernimento, e ele obterá conhecimento.
26 He that ruineth {his} father and chaseth away {his} mother is a son that causeth shame and bringeth reproach.
26 O filho que rouba o pai e expulsa a mãe é causador de vergonha e desonra.
27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction which causeth to stray from the words of knowledge.
27 Se você parar de ouvir a instrução, meu filho, irá afastar-se das palavras que dão conhecimento.
28 A witness of Belial scorneth judgment, and the mouth of the wicked swalloweth down iniquity.
28 A testemunha corrupta zomba da justiça, e a boca dos ímpios tem fome de iniqüidade.
29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of the foolish.
29 Os castigos estão preparados para os zombadores, e os açoites para as costas dos tolos.
