1 W̃uhnë vësëval va fëna, tëfëka aw̃aw̃ëhnënduni vësan hun. Ge ntirun koyëna, vëryampo hnë vëhni, lakënde vëhwëtahnëna Wanës W̃ënu ŋa, ge njëkëni vankeya hun va, akwëtahnëɗëni. Do fop iỹin wëla nësëluhna,
1 — ausente —
2 kaɓi nuɗëni gante pacëk vankeya hun ka do tufahnëɗ untënah.
2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 Ant'aryëñu igwamëna mbahn, had ryaỹ mul, ma liya wëkayët sanu, do cuɗa viỹi vëhambah ntaw̃i.
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 Hali, gwam hun ŋa tëfëka nke mbë ɓambery ntaw̃ary hun hna, mbë hakili hnëŋah do hwëhn ƴam. Iỹi sifa gwam përëkaɗina muk, do kwëhnak vëhni W̃ën hna nafa sankaf.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 Koɓëri ŋa aki kayëtaɗëniho vësëval vëfacah vële hwëtëko tama dëw̃ hni ŋa W̃ën hna: ntënënëɗënihëhniwo vësan hni.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;

7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Wëlin uhnës rëkwa lëmën: kwëhnaryin fop nahan ndampo fo, do gwëryëlëryin fëna. Ŋahnëlëryin ntëw̃ëlëw̃un had vahnë hun; geryin vahnë vëhnëŋah, do ɓanaryin haryënkw vëỹënta hun va.

9 Ge ahnë ntiku uw̃eh, antë aliguna uw̃eh; ge ahnë njew̃ëku antë ayew̃ëguna. Ɗëwanëhnëryindëna kwëlëkwël, kaɓi soŋe rac macahnëku W̃ënu ŋa, ɗanko ndëwahnu.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 «Ale ỹaɗ ŋahn uwám
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 ndarënd uw̃eh w̃a do ntind ufërën,
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 Ahwëhn a keryëɗëhëhni vësatah va,
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 Mo liɗëhu uw̃eh ge kahnëndarun idi ufërën w̃a?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 Lakënde ahnuỹawu wahorot kaɓi ufërën liɗun, mbetaɗun. Antë ntaku gë ahnë, do antë pëmpëhnahnu.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 Ɓare ntënënëryina hnë wasakahn hun hna Këris had Ahwëhn a. Ge ahnë tëƴëku, këbënaryin ayabahnu itamahn nte hwëhnarun ŋa.
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 Ɓare diryin wajira fo do g'untënah, g'ikwëhna nahan përën, ɗanko vële hnësëɗ uw̃eh soŋe nkeya përën hun gë Këris ŋa cëfëhnëhni soŋe ile njew̃ënihu ỹa.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 Ha, ge W̃ënu ŋa ñaɗ, apecek ahorot hnë wapërën wante liɗu ŋa g'ile horotëɗu hnë wameh wante liɗu ŋa.
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 Këris umë dënk korotëk hafo cëm hwënta ryampo fo soŋe wameh ŋa fop; umë ale wok menëna, acëmëk soŋe vahnë vëw̃en va. Ntiko koyëna ɗanko njiryeryahnu gë W̃ën. Paɓ g'imbahn ntëw̃u ŋa ndaw̃iko ɓare paɓ g'iƴir ŋa mbokaryijik wám hna.
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.

20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.

21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 umë ale haƴëk ambin do lañak farëhw W̃ën hna. Wamëleka ŋa, gë vësankaf va, gë fop vëỹi vëỹëntaw̃ vile hwëhnak fanka ambin hna maw̃ëhnëniha.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
