2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 ⲚⲀⲒ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲠⲢⲦⲢⲈϤϢⲰⲠⲈ ⲚⲀⲨ ⲚϬⲒ ⲠⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲈⲦϨⲒⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϨⲰⲖⲔ ϨⲒ ⲚⲞⲨⲂ ϨⲒ ϨⲞⲒⲦⲈ.
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲘⲠⲢⲰⲘⲈ ⲈⲦϨⲎⲠ ⲚⲦⲈ ⲠϨⲎⲦ ϨⲚ ⲦⲘⲚⲦⲀⲦⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲘⲠⲈⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀ ⲚⲢⲘⲢⲀϢ ⲀⲨⲰ ⲈⲦϨⲞⲢⲔ ⲠⲀⲒ ⲈⲦⲘⲠⲈⲘⲦⲞ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲠⲚⲞⲨⲦⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲎⲨ.
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 ⲦⲀⲒ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲦⲈ ⲐⲈ ⲈⲚⲈⲨⲔⲞⲤⲘⲈⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲞⲨ ⲘⲠⲈⲒⲞⲨⲞⲈⲒϢ ⲚϬⲒ ⲚⲈϨⲒⲞⲘⲈ ⲈⲦⲞⲨⲀⲀⲂ ⲈⲦϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲌ ⲈⲠⲚⲞⲨⲦⲈ. ⲈⲨⲤⲰⲦⲘ ⲚⲤⲀ ⲚⲈⲨϨⲀⲒ.
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 ⲚⲐⲈ ⲚⲤⲀⲢⲢⲀ ⲈⲚⲈⲤⲤⲰⲦⲘ ⲚⲤⲀ ⲀⲂⲢⲀϨⲀⲘ ⲈⲤⲘⲞⲨⲦⲈ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲀϪⲞⲈⲒⲤ ⲦⲀⲒ ⲚⲦⲀⲦⲈⲦⲚϢⲰⲠⲈ ⲚⲀⲤ ⲚϢⲈⲈⲢⲈ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚⲈⲒⲢⲈ ⲘⲠⲠⲈⲦⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨϤ. ⲀⲨⲰ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲚⲢ ϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲀⲚ ⲚϨⲎⲦⲤ ⲚⲖⲀⲀⲨ ⲚϨⲞⲦⲈ
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 ⲚϨⲞⲞⲨⲦ ⲞⲚ ⲚⲦⲈⲒϨⲈ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚϢⲞⲞⲠ ⲚⲘⲘⲀⲨ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲞⲨⲤⲞⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲚϮ ⲚⲞⲨⲦⲒⲘⲎ ⲚⲚⲈⲦⲚϨⲒⲞⲘⲈ ϨⲰⲤ ⲤⲔⲈⲨⲞⲤ ⲚϬⲰⲂ ϪⲈ ϨⲈⲚⲤⲨⲚⲔⲖⲎⲢⲞⲚⲞⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲈ ⲚⲦⲈⲬⲀⲢⲒⲤ ⲘⲠⲰⲚϨ ⲈⲦⲘⲔⲀ ⲦⲎⲨⲦⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲚ ⲚⲈⲦⲚϢⲖⲎⲖ.
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 ⲠϪⲰⲔ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲠⲈ ⲈⲢ ⲞⲨϨⲎⲦ ⲚⲞⲨⲰⲦ ⲦⲎⲢⲦⲚ ⲈϢⲠ ϨⲒⲤⲈ ⲘⲚ ⲚⲈⲦⲚⲈⲢⲎⲨ. ⲈⲢ ⲘⲀⲒⲤⲞⲚ ⲈⲢ ϢⲀⲚⲀϨⲦⲎϤ ⲈⲐⲂⲂⲒⲈ ⲦⲎⲨⲦⲚ.

9 ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲚ ⲦⲰⲰⲂⲈ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲞⲨⲠⲈⲐⲞⲞⲨ ⲈⲠⲘⲀ ⲚⲞⲨⲠⲈⲐⲞⲞⲨ ⲎⲞⲨⲤⲀϨⲞⲨ ⲈⲠⲘⲀ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲀϨⲞⲨ. ⲚϨⲞⲨⲞ ⲆⲈ ⲚⲦⲞϤ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲚⲤⲘⲞⲨ ϪⲈ ⲚⲦⲀⲨⲦⲈϨⲘ ⲦⲎⲨⲦⲚ ⲈⲠⲀⲒ ϪⲈⲔⲀⲀⲤ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚⲈⲔⲖⲎⲢⲞⲚⲞⲘⲈⲒ ⲘⲠⲈⲤⲘⲞⲨ.
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 ⲠⲈⲦⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲈⲘⲈⲢⲈ ⲠⲰⲚϨ ⲀⲨⲰ ⲈⲚⲀⲨ ⲈϨⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲈⲦⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨⲞⲨ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲦⲀⲖϬⲈ ⲠⲈϤⲖⲀⲤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲘ ⲠⲈⲐⲞⲞⲨ ⲀⲨⲰ ⲚⲈϤⲤⲠⲞⲦⲞⲨ ⲈⲦⲘϪⲰ ⲚⲞⲨⲔⲢⲞϤ
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤⲢⲈⲔⲦϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲘⲠⲈⲐⲞⲞⲨ ⲚϤⲈⲒⲢⲈ ⲘⲠⲠⲈⲦⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨϤ ⲚϤϢⲒⲚⲈ ⲘⲀⲢⲈϤϢⲒⲚⲈ ⲚⲤⲀ ϮⲢⲎⲚⲎ ⲚϤⲠⲰⲦ ⲚⲤⲰⲤ
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 ϪⲈ ⲚⲈⲂⲀⲖ ⲘⲠϪⲞⲈⲒⲤ ⲈⲨϬⲰϢⲦ ⲈϪⲚ ⲚⲆⲒⲔⲀⲒⲞⲤ ⲀⲨⲰ ⲚⲈϤⲘⲀⲀϪⲈ ⲈⲨⲢⲀⲔⲈ ⲈⲠⲈⲨⲤⲞⲠⲤ ⲠϨⲞ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲠϪⲞⲈⲒⲤ ⲈϪⲚ ⲚⲈⲦⲈⲒⲢⲈ ⲚⲘⲠⲈⲐⲞⲞⲨ
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 ⲀⲨⲰ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲠⲈⲦⲚⲀⲐⲘⲔⲈ ⲦⲎⲨⲦⲚ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚϢⲀⲚⲚⲈⲢ ⲢⲈϤⲔⲰϨ ⲈⲠⲀⲄⲀⲐⲞⲚ.
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲈϢⲰⲠⲈ ⲞⲚ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚϢⲠ ϨⲒⲤⲈ ⲈⲦⲂⲈ ⲆⲒⲔⲀⲒⲞⲤⲨⲚⲎ ⲚⲀⲒⲀⲦ ⲦⲎⲨⲦⲚ ⲦⲈⲨϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲠⲈⲢⲢ ϨⲞⲦⲈ ϨⲎⲦⲤ ⲞⲨⲆⲈ ⲘⲠⲢϢⲦⲞⲢⲦⲢ.
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ⲠϪⲞⲈⲒⲤ ⲆⲈ ⲠⲈⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲘⲀⲦⲂⲂⲞϤ ϨⲚ ⲚⲈⲦⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚⲤⲈⲂⲦⲰⲦ ⲚⲞⲨⲞⲈⲒϢ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲈϮ ⲀⲠⲞⲖⲞⲄⲒⲀ ⲚⲞⲨⲞⲚ ⲚⲒⲘ ⲈⲦⲀⲒⲦⲈⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲚ ⲘⲠϢⲀϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲂⲈ ⲐⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲈⲦⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲦⲎⲨⲦⲚ
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϨⲚ ⲞⲨⲘⲚⲦⲢⲘⲢⲀϢ ⲘⲚ ⲞⲨϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲈⲨⲈⲚⲦⲎⲦⲚ ⲘⲘⲀⲨ ⲚⲚⲞⲨⲤⲨⲚⲎⲆⲎⲤⲒⲤ ⲈⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨⲤ ϪⲈⲔⲀⲀⲤ ϨⲘ ⲠⲈⲦⲞⲨⲔⲀⲦⲀⲖⲀⲖⲈⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲚ ⲚϨⲎⲦϤ ⲈⲨⲈϪⲒ ϢⲒⲠⲈ ⲚϬⲒ ⲚⲈⲦⲤⲰϢϤ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲚⲀⲚⲀⲤⲦⲢⲞⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨⲤ ⲈⲦϨⲘ ⲠⲈⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ.
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 ⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨⲤ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚⲈⲒⲢⲈ ⲘⲠⲠⲈⲦⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨϤ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚϢⲠ ϨⲒⲤⲈ ⲈϢϪⲈ ⲠⲀⲒ ⲠⲈ ⲠⲞⲨⲰϢ ⲘⲠⲚⲞⲨⲦⲈ ⲚϨⲞⲨⲞ ⲈⲢⲞⲤ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲚⲈⲒⲢⲈ ⲘⲠⲠⲈⲐⲞⲞⲨ
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 ϪⲈ ⲠⲈⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲀϤⲘⲞⲨ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲞⲠ ϨⲀ ⲚⲈⲚⲚⲞⲂⲈ ⲠⲆⲒⲔⲀⲒⲞⲤ ϨⲀⲚⲢⲈϤϪⲒ ⲚϬⲞⲚⲤ ϪⲈⲔⲀⲀⲤ ⲈϤⲦⲈⲢⲈⲦⲚϨⲰⲚ ⲈϨⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲠⲚⲞⲨⲦⲈ ⲈⲀϤⲘⲞⲨ ⲘⲚ ϨⲚ ⲦⲤⲀⲢⲜ ⲀϤⲰⲚϨ ⲆⲈ ϨⲘ ⲠⲈⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀ
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 ϨⲘ ⲠⲀⲒ ⲈⲀϤⲂⲰⲔ ⲀϤⲦⲀϢⲈⲞⲈⲒϢ ⲚⲚⲈⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀ ⲈⲦϨⲘ ⲠⲈϢⲦⲈⲔⲞ
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 ⲚⲀⲒ ⲚⲦⲀⲨⲢ ⲀⲦⲤⲰⲦⲘ ⲘⲠⲈⲒⲞⲨⲞⲈⲒϢ ⲈⲚⲈⲢⲈⲦⲘⲚⲦϨⲀⲢϢ ϨⲎⲦ ⲘⲠⲚⲞⲨⲦⲈ ⲔⲰ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲚ ⲚⲈϨⲞⲞⲨ ⲚⲚⲰϨⲈ ⲈⲨⲦⲀⲘⲒⲞ ⲚⲦϬⲒⲂⲰⲦⲞⲤ ⲦⲀⲒ ⲚⲦⲀϨⲈⲚⲔⲞⲨⲒ ⲠⲰⲦ ⲈϨⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲢⲞⲤ ⲀⲨⲞⲨϪⲀⲒ ⲈⲠⲘⲞⲞⲨ ⲈⲨⲘⲈϨ ϢⲘⲞⲨⲚⲈ ⲘⲮⲨⲬⲎ.
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲠⲦⲨⲠⲞⲤ ⲘⲠⲂⲀⲠⲦⲒⲤⲘⲀ ⲈⲦⲞⲨϪⲞ ⲘⲘⲰⲦⲚ ⲦⲈⲚⲞⲨ ϨⲚ ⲞⲨⲈⲒⲰ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϬⲞⲢϪⲈ ⲚⲦⲈ ⲦⲤⲀⲢⲜ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲘⲠⲞⲨⲰϢⲂ ⲚⲦⲈⲨⲤⲨⲚⲈⲒⲆⲎⲤⲒⲤ ⲈⲦⲚⲀⲚⲞⲨⲤ ⲚⲀϨⲢⲘ ⲠⲚⲞⲨⲦⲈ ϨⲒⲦⲘ ⲠⲦⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲚⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲈⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 ⲠⲀⲒ ⲈⲦϨⲒ ⲞⲨⲚⲀⲘ ⲘⲠⲚⲞⲨⲦⲈ ⲈⲀϤⲂⲰⲔ ⲈϨⲢⲀⲒ ⲈⲦⲠⲈ ⲀⲚⲀⲄⲄⲈⲖⲞⲤ ϨⲨⲠⲞⲦⲀⲤⲤⲈ ⲚⲀϤ ⲘⲚ ⲚⲈⲜⲞⲨⲤⲒⲀ ⲘⲚ ⲚϬⲞⲘ.
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
