1 One day at three oclock, Peter and John went to the temple to talk with God.
1 E Pedro e João subiam juntos ao templo à hora da oração, a nona.
2 There was a man who had been born lame. He was carried and was laid at the gate of the temple every day. The gate was called Beautiful. He was brought there to beg. He asked for money from the people who went into the temple.
2 E era trazido um homem que desde o ventre de sua mãe era coxo, o qual todos os dias punham à porta do templo, chamada Formosa, para pedir esmola aos que entravam.
3 This man saw Peter and John ready to go into the temple. He begged them to give him something.
3 O qual, vendo a Pedro e a João que iam entrando no templo, pediu que lhe dessem uma esmola.
4 Peter and John looked at him. Peter said, Look at us.
4 E Pedro, com João, fitando os olhos nele, disse: Olha para nós.
5 The man looked at them. He thought they would give him something.
5 E olhou para eles, esperando receber deles alguma coisa.
6 Then Peter said, I have no money. But I will give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!
6 E disse Pedro: Não tenho prata nem ouro; mas o que tenho isso te dou. Em nome de Jesus Cristo, o Nazareno, levanta-te e anda.
7 He took the mans right hand and raised him up. Right away his feet and ankles became strong.
7 E, tomando-o pela mão direita, o levantou, e logo os seus pés e artelhos se firmaram.
8 He jumped to his feet and walked into the temple with them. He was so happy he jumped around and praised God.
8 E, saltando ele, pôs-se em pé, e andou, e entrou com eles no templo, andando, e saltando, e louvando a Deus.
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God.
9 E todo o povo o viu andar e louvar a Deus;
10 And they knew that this was the man who sat begging at the temple gate which was called Beautiful. They were very much surprised at what had happened to him. They could hardly believe it.
10 E conheciam-no, pois era ele o que se assentava a pedir esmola à porta Formosa do templo; e ficaram cheios de pasmo e assombro, pelo que lhe acontecera.
11 While the man still held on to Peter and John, all the people came running to them. It was in the part of the temple which is called Solomons porch. They were still very excited.
11 E, apegando-se o coxo, que fora curado, a Pedro e João, todo o povo correu atônito para junto deles, ao alpendre chamado de Salomão.
12 When Peter saw this, he talked to the people. He said, Men of Israel, why are you so surprised at this? Do you think that we have power or are good enough to make this man walk? Why do you look at us that way?
12 E quando Pedro viu isto, disse ao povo: Homens israelitas, por que vos maravilhais disto? Ou, por que olhais tanto para nós, como se por nossa própria virtude ou santidade fizéssemos andar este homem?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and of our fathers, has made his Son Jesus great. You gave him up to Pilate. You did not want to believe who he was. You did not want him back when Pilate agreed to let him go free.
13 O Deus de Abraão, de Isaque e de Jacó, o Deus de nossos pais, glorificou a seu filho Jesus, a quem vós entregastes e perante a face de Pilatos negastes, tendo ele determinado que fosse solto.
14 You would not receive the one who was holy and good. You asked for a bad man, who killed people, to be given to you.
14 Mas vós negastes o Santo e o Justo, e pedistes que se vos desse um homem homicida.
15 You killed the one who gives life, the one whom God brought back from death. We saw it and are telling people about it.
15 E matastes o Príncipe da vida, ao qual Deus ressuscitou dentre os mortos, do que nós somos testemunhas.
16 This man whom you see and know, believed in the name of Jesus Christ. This mans faith in that name has healed him. Yes, believing in Jesus Christ has made him well here in front of you all.
16 E pela fé no seu nome fez o seu nome fortalecer a este que vedes e conheceis; sim, a fé que vem por ele, deu a este, na presença de todos vós, esta perfeita saúde.
17 My brothers, I know that you and your rulers killed Jesus because you did not understand what you were doing.
17 E agora, irmãos, eu sei que o fizestes por ignorância, como também os vossos príncipes.
18 But in this way God did what he had told us would happen. Through all the prophets he had told us that Christ would suffer.
18 Mas Deus assim cumpriu o que já dantes pela boca de todos os seus profetas havia anunciado; que o Cristo havia de padecer.
19 Stop doing wrong things. Turn to God again. Then the wrong things you have done will be wiped away altogether. The Lord will give you a new start and make you very glad.
19 Arrependei-vos, pois, e convertei-vos, para que sejam apagados os vossos pecados, e venham assim os tempos do refrigério pela presença do Senhor,
20 He will send you Jesus. He was the one God chose to be the Christ.
20 E envie ele a Jesus Cristo, que já dantes vos foi pregado.
21 But he must wait in heaven until the time when all things will be made new again as they were at first. By his holy prophets God spoke of all this from the beginning.
21 O qual convém que o céu contenha até aos tempos da restauração de tudo, dos quais Deus falou pela boca de todos os seus santos profetas, desde o princípio.
22 Moses himself said, "The Lord God will raise up for you a Prophet like me. He will be one of your brothers. You must listen to everything that the Prophet says to you.
22 Porque Moisés disse aos pais: O Senhor vosso Deus levantará de entre vossos irmãos um profeta semelhante a mim; a ele ouvireis em tudo quanto vos disser.
23 And everyone who does not obey that Prophet will be cut off from his people altogether."
23 E acontecerá que toda a alma que não escutar esse profeta será exterminada dentre o povo.
24 Prophets spoke at the time of Samuel, and prophets spoke after that time. They all have told about these days also.
24 Sim, e todos os profetas, desde Samuel, todos quantos depois falaram, também predisseram estes dias.
25 You are the people who have received what the prophets promised. And you have received the agreement which God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, "Through your children all the nations of the earth will receive blessing."
25 Vós sois os filhos dos profetas e da aliança que Deus fez com nossos pais, dizendo a Abraão: Na tua descendência serão benditas todas as famílias da terra.
26 God raised up and sent his Son to you first to bless you. He blesses you when each one of you stops doing wrong things.
26 Ressuscitando Deus a seu Filho Jesus, primeiro o enviou a vós, para que nisso vos abençoasse, no apartar, a cada um de vós, das vossas maldades.
