1 First of all, I want Gods people to do this. They must talk to God for all the people. They must ask God to help them. They must ask God to give them what they need. They must thank God for all that he gives them.
1 Em primeiro lugar peço que sejam feitos orações, pedidos, súplicas e ações de graças a Deus em favor de todas as pessoas.
2 They must talk to God for all the kings and all rulers. They must do this so that we may live in peace and quiet, so that we may please God and do what is right.
2 Orem pelos reis e por todos os outros que têm autoridade, para que possamos viver uma vida calma e pacífica, com dedicação a Deus e respeito aos outros.
3 This is a good thing. And God, our Saviour, is pleased when people do it.
3 Isso é bom, e Deus, o nosso Salvador, gosta disso.
4 He wants all people to be saved and to know what is true.
4 Ele quer que todos sejam salvos e venham a conhecer a verdade.
5 There is one God. There is also one man who can open the way between God and all people. That man is Christ Jesus.
5 Pois existe um só Deus e uma só pessoa que une Deus com os seres humanos — o ser humano Cristo Jesus,
6 He gave his life to set all men free. This matter was told at the right time.
6 que deu a sua vida para que todos fiquem livres dos seus pecados. Esta foi a prova, dada no tempo certo, de que Deus quer que todos sejam salvos.
7 I was chosen to tell about this and to be an apostle. I am telling the truth. I am not lying. I was chosen to teach people who are not Jews. I must teach them to believe and to know what is true.
7 E eu fui escolhido como apóstolo e mestre dos não judeus para anunciar a mensagem da fé e da verdade. Eu não estou mentindo; estou dizendo a verdade.
8 So I want men in every place to talk to God. They must have clean lives when they lift up their hands to talk to God. They must not be angry. They must have faith in God.
8 Quero que em todos os lugares os homens orem, homens dedicados a Deus; e que, ao orarem, eles levantem as mãos, sem ódio e sem brigas.
9 I also want women to wear the right kind of clothes. They should not make a show of themselves, but use good sense. They should not fix up their hair in a fancy way, or wear gold and fine stones, or clothes that cost much money.
9 Quero também que as mulheres sejam sensatas e usem roupas decentes e simples. Que elas se enfeitem, mas não com penteados complicados, nem com joias de ouro ou de pérolas, nem com roupas caras!
10 But women should busy themselves with good works. This is the right thing for women who say they worship God.
10 Que se enfeitem com boas ações, como devem fazer as mulheres que dizem que são dedicadas a Deus!
11 A woman must learn quietly and be very humble.
11 As mulheres devem aprender em silêncio e com toda a humildade.
12 I do not allow any woman to teach or to rule over a man. She must remain quiet.
12 Não permito que as mulheres ensinem ou tenham autoridade sobre os homens; elas devem ficar em silêncio.
13 Adam was not fooled. But the woman was fooled and did wrong.
13 Pois Adão foi criado primeiro, e depois Eva.
14 But anyway, the women will come safely through the time of delivering a child, if they keep on believing and loving God, and if they live a clean life and keep humble.
14 E não foi Adão quem foi enganado; a mulher é que foi enganada e desobedeceu à lei de Deus.

15 Mas a mulher será salva tendo filhos se ela, com pureza, continuar na fé, no amor e na dedicação a Deus.
