1 ኡሱማለና እስን ኦርጆል! ኤንተርጆልክስኑን አጃጃማ፥ ሂካማሌ ኮኮ ሃፉራ ካዋቱን ካአጃጃሞን ጎግረ ሃፉራ ካዋ ካላይ ግር ካኦርይ ቦጃም አባባሮዋ።

2 ህክና ሊን ካኮዳንዳራ ካቁሉየሮና እባዶ ካካባጃሮ ግርክሶ ጎዴራንያ።
2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 ኢድታትስን መተ ሀራታኖይ፥ ዎርቂ ካታኖና፥ ካካባጃመ ሳርስ ሳርሳታኖይ ሳሬ ካሙታሮ ኢሳዱን አሮሌኖ።
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 አየሱን ጎአመን ኢሳድክስን ዋይ ሆረ ኣሎ ታካባጃንተ ላኦ፥ ፋያንካና ካእስል አያና ካአቦ፥ ማጎሬና ካባኖን፥ ካኦሮ ማር ካኢደ ሀሌዎ።
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 ሆርኮስኮ አብድትሶ ዋ ጉት ካካተራ፥ ቁሉክ ሄለል ካኮኢሳዳረ ሂካ ጋራየ፤ ኤንተርጆሉና አጃጃማ ግረ።
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 ኡሱማሌ ሳራና አብራመ “ጎታኬ” አማ አጃጃማ ግቴ፥ እስና ኮና አንአብሳኖን ኢዳነ ጎፈልቴን ይስክሰታን።
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 እስን ኤንተርጆል፥ አዳ. ኤብክስን ጎጎሀንዱዱፋኖንኮ ግርክስን ዱባ ኦርጆልክስን ቆፓ፥ ላፋኒዕ ማንኮሌን ማራን ግርኮኒዕ ሶማና እስኔ ዎታ ማንኮኤልናራን ማራን ካባጃ።
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 ጎርታ ዱባና ቆፋ ቶይ እስአታ፤ እስእስ ሻዳ፤ አቢላል ኣን እስእሲጌላየን፤ ካነኔኤይሳታሮና ካአንጅራታሮ ላ።

9 ሜላነ ሜላነ ጎርቱን ሀባር ሀባር አሮአባብቴን፤ ሂካኮት ባንኤ ሶማሳየን፤ ኣላንቲና እስን ካኡማንተታን ሂካ ፈላኖይ ሶማ ሄላይንያ።
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 ማጻፋ ቁሉክ፥
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 አየስ ካሜላንኮ ፋክ ሀኣሞ፤ ፈሎ ኦኢዳን ሀፈሎ።
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 ኣላንቲና ኢልኦ ኦዋ ቁሎለ ቶስ ድያራን፥
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 ፈሎ ኦኢዳን ፈልን ጎአታቴን ሚራኣ እስን ካጌግስራ አዮያ?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 ፈሎ ኦኢዳን ፈላኖይ ራኮ ጎአታቴና አድ ሶማ ሄላታንዋ፤ ማንዳኖ ካእባዶ አሮአብሳቴን፤ አሮያዴን።
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ክርስቶሳ ዎዳናትስኒ ካባጃ፤ እስኒ ታግቶ አብድ እስን ካሆሳታሮ ዱባዉን አባብ ስስን አርጌቶ ካኤካሳቴን ላ።
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 አባብክስን ኢዳነይና ካባጃይ ሀሌዎ፤ እስን ካክርስቶሳ ላኖይ ታአብታን ታኢዳን ያዳሊ ጉት ታሜላን ካአዬሳራ እባዶ ካሜላን አዬስኬሳ ጎጎሙልሮን ታኢዳን ሳሙ እስኑን ሀግርቶ።
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 ፈኢ ታዋ ሃ ጎሌተ፥ እስን ካሜላን አየስ ፈላኖይ ራኮ ካአታታንኮ ካእዳን አየስ ፈልጉዴን ራኮ ጎአታቴን ካእዳንክያ።
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 ክርስቶሳ እሲ ኖ ዋ ቶስ ጋባሊን ኡሱ ቁሉክ ሌ ግራን ቁሉማ ካላይኒዕ ኖን ጩቦካንኮት ኣላንቲ ታኮአዳሞት ኮክ ራኮ አታተረ ጎየራ፤ ኡሱ ሶይ ጎየራ፤ አያናይ አደ አርዶክ ሌራ።
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 ሀሱ አያና ሴተጉረ ምን ካሻኖ ካግሮ እባዶን ላላበ።
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 ሂክ ምን ካሻኖ ካግረ አያናጆል ጣየ ካኖሄ ጌሲ ማርካፋ ጎማዳራማረ ዋ ኦብሲ እሶ ኦራ ግራን ላኮአጃጃምኖ ኦአመረንያን። ኡሱ ማርካፋ ኦሮ ታበረ በከኮ ካሄሰረ እባዶ ቶቶይ ስዴድ ካላልየ።
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 ሂኒዕ በከ ግዳ ካጥንቃታ ማሱሳ ሌንጉሬን ፋይሳራን፤ ሂክ ጥንቃታ ታማረ ጦርቀ ኬሳኖ አሌኖን ግራን ሙጭ ታአንተ ሳሙ ታኢዳንኮ ዋ ቶስ ካገያሮ ኤብያ፤ እስን ካፋይስናራና ጎይኮ ክያኖ ካየሱሳ ክርስቶሳኮክ ጋራነያ፤
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 ኡሱና ዳሩር ቶስ ቤጉረ ዋ ኦዶኮት መርጌይ ግራ፤ ኤርግቻል ኦዶናትና ሁናጆል ኡሱ ሄገሊ ኢምናሜን ባራራን።
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
