1 Né-ɔɔ́, nyétɛde ḿmɛ̄n mbɛltéd mé mbéb ńsyə̄ə̄l. Nyéēkālē metóm, nyéelúmtéʼ á dǐd-te ngɛ̂n nɛ́n bán nyêbɛle bwâm áde nyéebɛlɛ́ɛ́, mod eesíídé waáb, eʼyale bé mbéb béēbīdē-ʼɛ nyé á nsəl.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Nyêtə́ŋgɛ́né awan áte âkud ndyééd e edəə́dəŋ echě esáá, melemlem ngáne bǎn bé nkə́ə́l béchyɛɛʼɛ́ abíi, âbɛl nɛ́n nzé nyêdyédé ene ndyééd, nyékwog âkud eʼsoósoŋ.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Nyêwóglɛ́né ene ndyééd, nyêbíí-ʼɛ bɔɔb ngáne Sáŋgwɛ́ɛ́ ábɛlɛɛ́ mekan mé bwâm.
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Nyéhyag wɛ́ɛ Sáŋgwɛ́ɛ́, mɔ́ adé nɛ́ɛ aláá dé aloŋgé áde belóŋ bé ndáb bênchenɛ́ɛ́, boŋ Dyǒb ányín dɔ́ aá ákwɔ́gnédé, ápwɛ̄d, ákōō-ʼɛ dɔ́.
4 — ausente —
5 Nyéhyag-kɔɔ́ nyébɛ̂ nɛ́ɛ meláá mé aloŋgé ḿme Dyǒb ábɛnladté âlóŋ eche ndáb e edəə́dəŋ. Áwēd-te-ʼaá nyɛ́bɛnlɛ́ɛ́ mɔ́. Nyɛ́ɛ̄bɛ̄ beprisɛ ábe bésáá, nyébagé mɔ́ mendɛ mé edəə́dəŋ ḿme mékóbnédé áwe eʼsó mbwiined ne Yesu Krǐstəə.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Éténlédé á kálag e Dyǒb nɛ́n bán,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Ádɛ́n aláá-ɔɔ́ ádé etógnɛ́n ne nyé awě nyêdúbpé mɔ́ boŋ ne bad ábe béēdúbpe mɔ́ ádíi nɛ̂ŋgáne
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Éténlédé ámpē nɛ́n bán,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Boŋ nyé, nyéēsaá nɛ̂. Nyêdíi bad ábe Dyǒb ápwɛ́dé, beprisɛ bé Dyǒb ádě ádé kə̂ŋ. Nyêdíi aloŋ áde ásáá, Dyǒb děn-naá áwóó nyé âbɛl nɛ́n nyélúmed bad bémpēe ngáne ápédé bwâm abɛ́. Dyǒb áhúdé nyé á ehíntɛ́n-tê, apɛɛné nyé á eʼnyínɛn bé ekíde.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ngen eʼsó nyénkêmbáá bad boŋ bɔɔb nyɛ́ɛ̄nyêdé bad bé Dyǒb. Ngen eʼsó ngɔl e Dyǒb enkêmpaá áwɛ̄n boŋ bɔɔb Dyǒb áwógé nyé ngɔl.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 A-bǎnned nhɛde mɛɛ́ nyésôŋtɛn nɛ́n bán nyêdíi beken, nyêtome-ʼɛ á nkǒŋsé wɛ́n tómɛ́n. Né-ɔɔ́ nyéēbanné nlém ne mekan mé ekob é yə̌l áyə̄le nɛ́n nɛ̂ áwanne ábɛ̄n eʼdəə́dəŋ běn nzum.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Nyéwále aloŋgé á bwâm átîntê e bad ábe béedúbpe Dyǒb, âbɛl boŋ ké bénhɔ̄b bán nyêdíi bad bé mbéb, bɛ́nyīn ḿmɛ̄n mbɛltéd ḿ bwâm. Nɛ̂ dɛ́kə̌ŋ bɛ́bɛ Dyǒb edúbé mbwɛ ḿme Dyǒb dɛ́pɛɛ́ á epun é asóg.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Á dǐn á Sáŋgú, nyéwógne bad bé nkǒŋsé ábe bédé á nkamlɛn, ken nkamlɛnɛ ambáámbáa,
13 — ausente —
14 kéʼɛ kə̂ŋ échě édé ásē e nkamlɛnɛ ambáámbáa, echě álómé âkɔ́gsɛn bebɛl bé mbéb ne âkémed bad ábe bébɛleʼ bwâm.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Dyǒb áhɛde nɛ́n aá mekan mé bwâm ḿmě nyébɛlɛɛ́ mékúdtɛn mehɔ́b ḿme ábê eʼyɔ́kɛ́l éʼ bad béhɔ́bɛɛ́ nyé áyə̄l, ḿme béēbíiʼɛ́.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Nyéēsaá betâŋ, nyêdíi kunze. Boŋ pɛn nɛ̂ déebagɛɛ́ nyé nzɔm âbɛl mbéb. Nyébɛ̂ nɛ́ɛ bembəledɛ bé Dyǒb.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Nyébage moosyəə́l edúbé. Nyédəŋ-ʼɛ bad bémpēe ábe bɔ́mpē bédúbpé Krǐstəə. Nyébáa Dyǒb. Nyébage kə̂ŋ Embáámbáa edúbé.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Nyé bad ábe nyêdé bembəledɛ, nyésuded yə̌l ásē e bad ábe nyébɛnlɛɛ́ ne edúbé ésyə̄ə̄l. Nɛ̂ déēbāg ne ábe bébóó nlém běnpɛn, boŋ nɛ̂ ábɛ̂ ne kə́ə́ŋne ábe bébébé nlém.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Dyǒb dɛ́bɛ̄ menyiŋge ne nyé nzé nyêwɛsɛ́né eʼwɛ éʼ metake ḿme nyénkêmbáá nyêkude áyə̄l echê.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Nzé ebɛlé mbéb, boŋ ewɛ̌sɛ́né mbɛ́te áyə̄le ḿmê mbéb, ne nsyə́ŋ ńhéé wɛ́kudté? Boŋ nzé ewɛ̌sɛ́né metake ké áyə̄le dyam á bwâm áde ébɛ́lé, né Dyǒb dɛ́bɛ̄ menyiŋge ne wɛ.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Ḿmɛ́n metake mébóŋnédé nyé awě Dyǒb ápwɛ́dé, áyə̄le nɛ́n Krǐstəə mwěn antǎg á nló ḿmɛ̄n. Anlyə́gé-ʼɛ nyé elaŋsɛ́n âbɛl nyéhîd ḿmē mekuu.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 Enkêmbɛnlé mbéb ké nhɔ́g, modmod enkênwóg-kaá mɔ́ eyale é mbéb á nsəl.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Áde bad bésyə́ə́ mɔ́, enkêntimtɛ́nné bɔ́. Áde bétágtéʼáá mɔ́, enkênsidté bɔ́. Boŋ ambɛ̌ mésyə̄ə̄l á mekáá mé Dyǒb áde ákáadte bad bésyə̄ə̄l nyaa pɔ́g.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Krǐstəə mwěn ampém ḿmɛd mbéb áwe yə̌l á awɔg âbɛl nɛ́n deewóó dyamdyam âbɛl ne mbéb, débɛle-ʼɛ mekan ḿme Dyǒb áhɛdɛɛ́, á aloŋgé ádɛ̄d. Échē sii ébɛ́lé nyêkudé eʼchoóchoŋ.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Nyêmbɛ́ nɛ́ɛ ńdyɔŋ ḿ mbód ḿme ḿbɔ́ɔ́ boŋ bɔɔb Dyǒb ápɛ́ɛ́né nyé ámbīd âhíd mod awě anɔne nyé ngáne nnɔn-a-mbód ánɔnɛɛ́ éche mbód.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
