1 Nnɛ, p̂əɨ mīʼaŋ ŋguoŋ mbha nnu pɨphɨ ghao, pugu pa lɛʼiŋgiɛŋ, pugu pa mbha nnu mifɨɨ, ni kighɨʼə, pugu pa chhu nu phɨ thɔ ŋgwa.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Nɔ puoŋ prɔ ŋa pi wuʼɔ ŋka phi vugu phi nɛ, p̂əɨ shigi nuaŋ nu ŋkiɛŋ pɨnɨ shiʼi mbɔ yi jijwɛ nnɛ ŋa pəɨ shi ntɔgɔ ŋkuoŋ ghɔ ŋkuʼɔ moŋ lūgu nu.
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 Ŋa Ŋwaʼaŋlɨ Minnwi chhu ŋa, “Pəɨ ŋkaa pəɨ ni njwɛʼi njəɨ ŋa Taathɔ ya mbwa.”
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Nɔ haʼaŋ pəɨ thɔ nu njəɨ vi nɔ ŋgùʼɔ ŋa a yi maoŋ, ŋgwamishua lāa, ndɔ ŋga mbɔ ligi Minnwi nɛ, mbɔ pi ŋgùʼɔ ŋa pi chuʼɔ ndɔ mbɔ ŋkiɛŋ yi.
4 — ausente —
5 Pəɨ nduthɔ yəɨ pɔ nɔ pa ŋgùʼɔ maoŋ ŋa pi thɔ ŋkrao nu ŋkuʼɔ nu nɔ ghɔ nɔ nda moŋ Jijwɛ nɔ pɔ nu ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ Minnwi yi taoŋtaoŋ, nɔ fɛ nu maoŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ ŋa Minnwi piŋ nɛ, mbɔ yi moŋ jijwɛ ntɔgɔ pi mbhɔ Jishɔ Krishto.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Nthɛ ŋa a pɔ moŋ Ŋwaʼaŋlɨ Minnwi ŋa,
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Nnɛ ndighaʼo ghɔ pɔ pi ni pəɨ ŋa pəɨ piŋ nɛ, ndɔ ni ŋgwa pɛ ŋa pugu lɔ njiʼi mbiŋ nɛ,
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 mbɨnɨ mbɔ,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Ndɔ pəɨ pɔ pi ŋgwrɛiŋgwa ŋa pi chuʼɔ, mbɔ ghaŋ fɛʼiŋgiɛŋ Minnwi ndɔ mbɔ pa pifuoŋ, ŋgwa taoŋtaoŋ, ŋgwa ŋa pugu pɔ pi ji nɛ, ŋa pəɨ chīi ndìpwa Ju ŋa a gɛ̄ vəɨ mfuʼu vəɨ moŋ njiŋ niʼiŋ vəɨ moŋ líʼɛ pwapwa yi.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Yichəɨ ndɨɨ ni mbɔ paʼa pəɨ lɔ njiʼi mbɔ ŋgwa Minnwi, ndɔ ndwɛ pəɨ ŋgwa pi, yichəɨ ndɨɨ ni mbɔ paʼa pəɨ lɔ nji kwoshɨnɨ Minnwi ndɔ ndwɛ pəɨ fāʼo kwoshɨnɨ yi.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Pa ŋkiɛŋ lǐŋ paŋ, ǹdɨ̄gəɨ vəɨ, pəɨ nɔ pa ghɨ̀nɨ ndɔ mbɔ nɔ ŋgwa ŋa pi yōu vugu nɛ, p̂əɨ ləʼɨ pa nnu khwā nu pa nnu tɔtrɔ ŋa pugu thɔ māʼaŋ nchhɔ̀ pugu pa nchə̌ɨ yəɨ nɛ.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Mbha nnu pəɨ shɨna pa ŋgwa pɛ ŋa pugu lɔ njiʼi mbiŋ Minnwi nɛ pɔ yi chɨɨchɨɨ, nnɛ ŋa ndɨɨ ŋa pugu chrā nthɛ vəɨ nɔ ghaŋ phɨ nɛ, pugu nthɛ pugu yəɨ mbha nnu shiʼi pəɨ ŋgaʼo Minnwi llɛ́ ŋa a lɛ nthɔ nɛ.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Nthɛ pi Taathɔ, p̂əɨ yaʼo nchò ŋguoŋ pa thishɨ ŋa ŋgwamishua nūʼɔŋ nɛ. Yaʼo nchò fùoŋ Roma, mbɔ mmɛ taathɔ,
13 — ausente —
14 njaʼo nchò ghaŋ shaʼa ŋgwa nɔ ŋgwa ŋa Minnwi tɔgɔ mbɔ fùoŋ Roma ntaoŋ vugu nɔ fɛ nu njɔ́ ni ŋgwa pɛ ŋa pugu chwīe phɨ nɛ, ndɔ mbɨnɨ ŋgaʼo ŋgwa pɛ ŋa pugu chwīe shiʼi nɛ.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Nthɛ ŋa a nnu ŋa Minnwi tāʼa nu nɛ, ŋa pəɨ kie ŋkuoŋ chwīe nu shiʼi, nchri chrà ki ji ŋa pa nàna ghà nchrā nɛ.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 P̂əɨ chhɔ chɔmbhi yəɨ nɔ pa ŋgwa ŋa pugu lɔ njiʼi mbɔ pa kǔna, ndɔ ki lɔ ndɔ̄gɔ ji nu ŋa pəɨ lɔ njiʼi mbɔ pa kǔna nɛ ŋkuru pi nnu pɨphɨ nɔ ghɔ, pəɨ chhɔ pi nɔ puoŋ fàʼa Minnwi.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 P̂əɨ ghaʼo ŋguoŋ ŋgwa ghao. Ŋkhwā pa lǐŋ moŋ piŋ, mfāʼo pɔgɔ Minnwi, ŋgɨnɔ fùoŋ Roma.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Pa puoŋ fàʼa, p̂əɨ yaʼo mbhɔ taathɔ pəɨ ni ŋguoŋ ghaʼo nu ghao, njaʼo nchò yugu ki lɔ ŋguʼɔ mbɔ pi pɛ taathɔ ŋa pugu ŋgwa shiʼi mbɨnɨ mbɔ ŋgwa juju nɛ, njiʼi nthɛ pi pi pɨphɨ ŋkaa pugu.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Minnwi shi mfɛ mbɔrɔ ni pəɨ nthɛ yie, nɔ haʼaŋ pəɨ ntīi shii moŋ ŋgəʼɨ ki mbhɔ yəɨ lɔ mbɔ nɔ ghɔ, nthɛ pi ŋa pəɨ ji nnu ŋa Minnwi tāʼa nu nɛ.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Nthɛ ŋa pəɨ shi nshei pi khɔ nɔ haʼaŋ pəɨ nchwīe phɨ, pi wie vəɨ, pəɨ tīi shii moŋ ghɔ? Ndɔ ti p̈əɨ nchwīe shiʼi pi wie vəɨ, Minnwi fāʼo pwatua ni pəɨ nthɛ yie.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Nthɛ ŋa pi gɛ̄ vəɨ nthɛ pi yei, nthɛ ŋa Krishto ni njəɨ ŋgəʼɨ nthɛ vəɨ, mieŋ lì ni pəɨ, nnɛ ŋa pəɨ chuʼɔ chhɨkwo yi.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 A shini ndɔ nchwīe phɨ, ndɔ paʼa kaŋ taʼa chrà mifɨɨ lɔ mbɔ nchò yu.
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 Ndɨɨ ŋa pi ni ŋgwɛʼi vi nɛ, a shini ndɔ nduʼu, ndɨɨ ŋa a ni njəɨ ŋgəʼɨ nɛ, a shini ndɔ ŋgūru ŋoŋ, a ni ŋguʼɔ ŋgə̄ɨ shhɨ nthɔ mfɛ noŋ yi ni Minnwi, mbɔ ŋoŋ ŋa a ghà nshaʼa ŋgwa ni ndɨndɨ nɛ.
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Ju nduthɔ yi ni ntiɛŋ phɨ yia mbɨŋ yu ŋkuoŋ wáʼa nnɛ ŋa pia khu nthɛ phɨ, mbɔ yi maoŋ moŋ ndɨndɨ. Ntɔgɔ pi ŋkuoŋ pa fɨ́ pi, ghɨ̌nɔ yəɨ pɔ yi yɨ̄gɨ.
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 Pəɨ ni nchhɔ fāaŋ ndaoŋ nɔ pa minjɨɨ, ndɔ ŋkwo pɨ̄nɨ ndwɛ njəɨ ŋkɛ̄ʼi vəɨ, mbɔ ŋgaŋ lɨna ni nchə̌ɨ yəɨ.
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
