1 ህትን ምኒ አማኖ! ምኒ አናኖተ አዘዘሜ፤ ከን ሃሌን መት-መቱ መገን ላጋን አመዕንትበረ እኮጎሬ ምንሰ አማኑት መቱርቹሃ ጠወኡዕናን ጠለዕል ምንሰ አማኖ ሃሊን አመዕንቶተ አታልታአ።

2 ክዕኔቤቹ አሜቶተ አታልታኢሁ ሙጩሩ እኮለከ መነ ከበጄኖሃ እሁክዕኔ ለአራት።
2 having witnessed your pure conversation {carried out} in fear;
3 ክዕኔ ደኑክዕኔ ሹሩበ ደዲን፥ ዎርቂን ሹልምሲንለከ ጤአተ ህዕሬን ኦደኤኖ ኦድኑተ ኦደኢን አብሌን ለኤኖ ሹልሚን እሁንከ።
3 whose adorning let it not be that outward one of tressing of hair, and wearing gold, or putting on apparel;
4 ጠዉ እኮጎሬ ደኑክዕኔ መገን ብሬን ዋጉስ አበ ከበጀሞለከ በእበ ሹልሚን ጎደበ ላፍማንለከ ገዉ አገዕሪን ቀልቤን ኬዕምሰሞለከ በእቡ መክሲን ገዉ ሆፍሲንለከ አታዕሊን ሰውቲን ኣዝ ጅስሚን እሁን።
4 but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible {ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price.
5 መሰንትስ ብሬ ዘማን መገኑ ተብሳ አታ ጠሊላኑ ሜንቱ መክጨንቶኢሁ ህትዪት እቅ፤ እሰን ምንሰ አናኖ ትዛዝ ቶጋ እቅ።
5 For thus also the holy women who have hoped in God heretofore adorned themselves, being subject to their own husbands;
6 አዘዘንቶኢንኩ ሳረ እብራሂሚሃ «ኢ ቀርቾ» ይተን አዘዘንቶስ ደኒንት፤ አዕኑ ጡመ ጠወ አቴነንተረለከ መቱ ዋጅሲሰኖ ጠዉ ህልቅስባህዕኔጎሬ እሴተ እለ።
6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children ye have become, doing good, and not fearing with any kind of consternation.
7 ህትን ምኒ አናኖ! ምኒክዕኔ አማኖን ሜጡበ አጥራመቲን ሄዕዬ፤ ክዕኔች በትስ ላፈ ክልቀት እኮቤቺሃለከ ክዕኔን ሜጡበ ሄእ ኣስቱተ ረገኣቤቺሃ ኬዕምሼሰ፤ ከን ሃሌን ዱእሃክዕኔ ጉፍቹ እሀኖርቹ ሄአኖበአ።
7 {Ye} husbands likewise, dwell with {them} according to knowledge, as with a weaker, {even} the female, vessel, giving {them} honour, as also fellow-heirs of {the} grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.
8 ጉዕሙንኩክዕኔ መት-መቲንከክዕኔ ኢታን ሄዕዬ፤ ዎሎ መን ኦሪሸተ ገይክዕኔሀንገ አቴን ሰውይዬ፤ አመኦሶገ እኬን ኢተቀሜ፤ ጎደበ ላፋኑተለከ ገዉክዕኔ ሆፍሴነንተረ እኬ።

9 ህትን ማሰዕዬ ቤሉ ሂለርቹ ሂለርቺንለከ ቦሮሩ ቦሮሪን ፈንቀሽቶኖቼ፤ መሰንትስ አዕኑ ገአንቴንታሁ ህካን አቶኖታት፤ ህካን አኦንከክዕኔ በረከተ ረገኤነንተ።
9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing; but on the contrary, blessing {others}, because ye have been called to this, that ye should inherit blessing.
10 ጠሊለ መጻፋን
10 For he that will love life and see good days, let him cause his tongue to cease from evil and his lips that they speak no guile.
11 ህትን ሂለ ጠወ አኢች ገዉስ አገዕሩን፤ ጡመ ጠወ አኡን፤
11 And let him avoid evil, and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it;
12 መሰንትስ ቀርች እልት
12 because {the} eyes of {the} Lord {are} on {the} righteous, and his ears towards their supplications; but {the} face of {the} Lord {is} against them that do evil.
13 ጡመርቹ አቶኖተ ሃሸኤንተጎሬ ምዕረተ ኢልሰኖህዕኔሁ አዬት?
13 And who shall injure you if ye have become imitators of that which {is} good?
14 ጠዉ እኮጎሬ ጡመ ጠወ አቴን ኦርሸተ ቶጌንተጎሬ በረከተ ደእቴነንተ፤ መን ፎከረተ ዋጅቶኖቼ፤ ጨነቀንቶኖቼ።
14 E até sereis felizes, se padecerdes alguma coisa por causa da justiça!
15 ቀርቹ መሲህ ቀልቤንከክዕኔ ከበጅዬስ፤ ሄእሃክዕኔ ቀርቹ አዕዬስ፤ ክዕኔን ዮ ተብሴሃ ጠዕመኖህዕኔሀኒሃ ጉዕሚንከ መስለ ኣቶኖተ ጉዕመ ወክት ተቃጠቤ።
15 Portanto, não temais as suas ameaças e não vos turbeis. Antes santificai em vossos corações Cristo, o Senhor. Estai sempre prontos a responder para vossa defesa a todo aquele que vos pedir a razão de vossa esperança, mas fazei-o com suavidade e respeito.
16 ጠዉ እኮጎሬ መስሉክዕኔ ጎደበ ላፍማንለከ ከበጂን እሁን፤ መሲህሃ እኬንተቤቺሃ ዮህዕኔ ጡመ ሃል አሌን ሂለርቹ ጠወኣ መኑ ሂለ ጠወኢንከሰ ሙልቶተ ጡሙ ሰዉቱ ሄኡንክዕኔ።
16 Tende uma consciência reta a fim de que, mesmo naquilo em que dizem mal de vós, sejam confundidos os que desacreditam o vosso santo procedimento em Cristo.
17 መገኑ ዬጎሬ አዕኑ ሂለ ጠወ አቴን ኦሪሸተ ቶጌነንተሀኒች ጡመ ጠወ አቴን ኦሪሸተ ቶጉ ቆሀኖ።
17 Aliás, é melhor padecer, se Deus assim o quiser, por fazer o bem do que por fazer o mal.
18 መሲህ ገዉስ መገን ቤቹ ሆንጠህሶህዕኔተ እስ ፈየ እሀን ፈየ እንኮምበእ ኒ ጩብ መሳን መንተኔሃ ሜጦረን ሬዮኡ፤ እስ ማሊን ሬይ አያኒን ሄአኖሃ እኮ።
18 Pois também Cristo morreu uma vez pelos nossos pecados - o Justo pelos injustos - para nos conduzir a Deus. Padeceu a morte em sua carne, mas foi vivificado quanto ao espírito.
19 ህከን አያኒን ኡሱር ምኔን ዮ ነፍሴቤቹ መር ተሽት ለገተ ዱዱብሴሰ።
19 É neste mesmo espírito que ele foi pregar aos espíritos que eram detidos no cárcere, àqueles que outrora, nos dias de Noé, tinham sido rebeldes,
20 ሁኩ ኡሱር ምኔን ዮ ነብሴቤቹ ሄጭ ኑህ ዘማን መርከቡ ቅጥየን መገኑ አደቢን አገራንሰ ሄዕዮገን ትዛዝ ቶጉ ግቦእራን፤ ህከ መርከብ ኣዝ ኣግ ዊ መሳን ጡምቶእሩ ዎሊንሹሰ ህዜቱሃ መነ እቅ።
20 quando Deus aguardava com paciência, enquanto se edificava a arca, na qual poucas pessoas, isto é, apenas oito se salvaram através da água.
21 ሁኩ ዉሁ ቴሱ ክዕኔተ ፌሰኖ ጥምቀትተ ምሳል፤ ኩ ጥምቀቱ ጅስሚች ጡር ከሙ እሁዕነ ሙጩሩ ቀልብ ደኢሃ መገን ቤቹ ሆንጠህሰኖሃ ዱአ፤ ፌሰኖህዕኔንኩ መሲህ ኢስ ኬእ መሳኒት።
21 Esta água prefigurava o batismo de agora, que vos salva também a vós, não pela purificação das impurezas do corpo, mas pela que consiste em pedir a Deus uma consciência boa, pela ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
22 እስ ሰማ ኦሮዕይ መገን መኬን ዮኡ፤ እሲንከ መላይከት፥ ዳኛኑትለከ ዎልቀት ዮሰሩ ጉዕሙንኩ ጠገንቶስ።
22 Esse Jesus Cristo, tendo subido ao céu, está assentado à direita de Deus, depois de ter recebido a submissão dos anjos, dos principados e das potestades.
