1 O God, keep thou not silence. Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
1 Ó Deus, não te cales; não te emudeças, nem fiques inativo, ó Deus!
2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult, and those who hate thee have lifted up the head.
2 Os teus inimigos se alvoroçam, e os que te odeiam levantam a cabeça.
3 They take crafty counsel against thy people, and consult together against thy hidden ones.
3 Tramam astutamente contra o teu povo e conspiram contra os teus protegidos.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
4 Dizem: Vinde, risquemo-los de entre as nações; e não haja mais memória do nome de Israel.
5 For they have consulted together with one consent. They make a covenant against thee:
5 Pois tramam concordemente e firmam aliança contra ti
6 the tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagarenes,
6 as tendas de Edom e os ismaelitas, Moabe e os hagarenos,
7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre,
7 Gebal, Amom e Amaleque, a Filístia como os habitantes de Tiro;
8 Assyria also is joined with them; they have helped the sons of Lot. Selah.
8 também a Assíria se alia com eles, e se constituem braço forte aos filhos de Ló.
9 Do thou to them as to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon,
9 Faze-lhes como fizeste a Midiã, como a Sísera, como a Jabim na ribeira de Quisom;
10 who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth.
10 os quais pereceram em En-Dor; tornaram-se adubo para a terra.
11 Make their ranking men like Oreb and Zeeb, yea, all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna,
11 Sejam os seus nobres como Orebe e como Zeebe, e os seus príncipes, como Zeba e como Zalmuna,
12 who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession the habitations of God.
12 que disseram: Apoderemo-nos das habitações de Deus.
13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust, as stubble before the wind,
13 Deus meu, faze-os como folhas impelidas por um remoinho, como a palha ao léu do vento.
14 as the fire that burns the forest, and as the flame that sets the mountains on fire.
14 Como o fogo devora um bosque e a chama abrasa os montes,
15 So pursue them with thy tempest, and terrify them with thy storm.
15 assim, persegue-os com a tua tempestade e amedronta-os com o teu vendaval.
16 Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
16 Enche-lhes o rosto de ignomínia, para que busquem o teu nome,
17 Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever. Yea, let them be confounded and perish,
17 Sejam envergonhados e confundidos perpetuamente; perturbem-se e pereçam.
18 that they may know that thou alone, whose name is LORD, are the Most High over all the earth.
18 E reconhecerão que só tu, cujo nome é és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.
