1 Ye are the sons of LORD your God. Ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.
1 Filhos sois do Senhor , vosso Deus; não vos dareis golpes, nem sobre a testa fareis calva por causa de algum morto.
2 For thou are a holy people to LORD thy God, and LORD has chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.
2 Porque sois povo santo ao Senhor , vosso Deus, e o Senhor vos escolheu de todos os povos que há sobre a face da terra, para lhe serdes seu povo próprio.
3 Thou shall not eat any abominable thing.
3 Não comereis coisa alguma abominável.
4 These are the beasts which ye may eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat,
4 São estes os animais que comereis: o boi, a ovelha, a cabra,
5 the hart, and the gazelle, and the roebuck, and the wild goat, and the ibex, and the antelope, and the chamois.
5 o veado, a gazela, a corça, a cabra montês, o antílope, a ovelha montês e o gamo.
6 And every beast that parts the hoof, and has the hoof cloven in two, [and] chews the cud, among the beasts, that may ye eat.
6 Todo animal que tem unhas fendidas, e o casco se divide em dois, e rumina, entre os animais, isso comereis.
7 Nevertheless of those that chew the cud, or of those that have the hoof cloven, these ye shall not eat: the camel, and the hare, and the coney, because they chew the cud but do not part the hoof, they are unclean to you,
7 Porém estes não comereis, dos que somente ruminam ou que têm a unha fendida: o camelo, a lebre e o arganaz, porque ruminam, mas não têm a unha fendida; imundos vos serão.
8 and the swine, because he parts the hoof but does not chew the cud, he is unclean to you. Of their flesh ye shall not eat, and their carcasses ye shall not touch.
8 Nem o porco, porque tem unha fendida, mas não rumina; imundo vos será. Destes não comereis a carne e não tocareis no seu cadáver.
9 These ye may eat of all that are in the waters: whatever has fins and scales ye may eat.
9 Isto comereis de tudo o que há nas águas: tudo o que tem barbatanas e escamas.
10 And whatever does not have fins and scales ye shall not eat; it is unclean to you.
10 Mas tudo o que não tiver barbatanas nem escamas não o comereis; imundo vos será.
11 Of all clean birds ye may eat,
11 Toda ave limpa comereis.
12 but these are those of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the osprey,
12 Estas, porém, são as que não comereis: a águia, o quebrantosso, a águia marinha,
13 and the glede, and the falcon, and the kite according to its kind,
13 o açor, o falcão e o milhano, segundo a sua espécie;
14 and every raven after its kind,
14 e todo corvo, segundo a sua espécie;
15 and the ostrich, and the night-hawk, and the sea-gull, and the hawk according to its kind,
15 o avestruz, a coruja, a gaivota e o gavião, segundo a sua espécie;
16 the little owl, and the great owl, and the horned owl,
16 o mocho, a íbis, a gralha,
17 and the pelican, and the vulture, and the cormorant,
17 o pelicano, o abutre, o corvo marinho,
18 and the stork, and the heron according to its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.
18 a cegonha, e a garça, segundo a sua espécie, e a poupa, e o morcego.
19 And all winged creeping things are unclean to you. They shall not be eaten.
19 Também todo inseto que voa vos será imundo; não se comerá.
20 Of all clean birds ye may eat.
20 Toda ave limpa comereis.
21 Ye shall not eat of anything that dies of itself. Thou may give it to the sojourner who is within thy gates, that he may eat it, or thou may sell it to a foreigner, for thou are a holy people to LORD thy God. Thou shall not boil a
21 Não comereis nenhum animal que morreu por si. Podereis dá-lo ao estrangeiro que está dentro da tua cidade, para que o coma, ou vendê-lo ao estranho, porquanto sois povo santo ao Senhor , vosso Deus. Não cozerás o cabrito no leite da sua própria mãe.
22 Thou shall surely tithe all the increase of thy seed; that which comes forth from the field year by year.
22 Certamente, darás os dízimos de todo o fruto das tuas sementes, que ano após ano se recolher do campo.
23 And thou shall eat before LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herd and of thy flock, that thou may
23 E, perante o Senhor , teu Deus, no lugar que escolher para ali fazer habitar o seu nome, comerás os dízimos do teu cereal, do teu vinho, do teu azeite e os primogênitos das tuas vacas e das tuas ovelhas; para que aprendas a temer o Senhor , teu Deus, todos os dias.
24 And if the way is too long for thee, so that thou are not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there when LORD thy God shall bless thee,
24 Quando o caminho te for comprido demais, que os não possas levar, por estar longe de ti o lugar que o Senhor , teu Deus, escolher para ali pôr o seu nome, quando o Senhor , teu Deus, te tiver abençoado,
25 then thou shall turn it into money, and bind up the money in thy hand, and shall go to the place which LORD thy God shall choose.
25 então, vende-os, e leva o dinheiro na tua mão, e vai ao lugar que o Senhor , teu Deus, escolher.
26 And thou shall bestow the money for whatever thy soul desires, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever thy soul asks of thee. And thou shall eat there before LORD thy God, and thou shall rejoice, t
26 Esse dinheiro, dá-lo-ás por tudo o que deseja a tua alma, por vacas, ou ovelhas, ou vinho, ou bebida forte, ou qualquer coisa que te pedir a tua alma; come-o ali perante o Senhor , teu Deus, e te alegrarás, tu e a tua casa;
27 And the Levite who is within thy gates, thou shall not forsake him, for he has no portion nor inheritance with thee.
27 porém não desampararás o levita que está dentro da tua cidade, pois não tem parte nem herança contigo.
28 At the end of every three years thou shall bring forth all the tithe of thine increase in the same year, and shall lay it up within thy gates.
28 Ao fim de cada três anos, tirarás todos os dízimos do fruto do terceiro ano e os recolherás na tua cidade.
29 And the Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with thee, and the sojourner, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied, that LORD thy God may bless thee in al
29 Então, virão o levita (pois não tem parte nem herança contigo), o estrangeiro, o órfão e a viúva que estão dentro da tua cidade, e comerão, e se fartarão, para que o Senhor , teu Deus, te abençoe em todas as obras que as tuas mãos fizerem.
