1 The lot of the sons of Joseph went from the Jordan, by Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho through the mountains to Bethel,
1 As terras que foram dadas aos descendentes de José iam desde o rio Jordão, perto da cidade de Jericó, até o deserto. De Jericó elas continuavam pela região montanhosa até a cidade de Betel.
2 and went out from Bethel to Luz, passed along to the border of the Archites at Ataroth,
2 De Betel a divisa ia até a cidade de Luz, chegando a Atarote, onde viviam os arquitas.
3 and went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, as far as the border of Lower Beth Horon to Gezer; and it ended at the sea.
3 Daí seguia para o oeste, na divisa com os jafletitas, até a região de Bete-Horom-de-Baixo. Então ia até Gezer e terminava no mar Mediterrâneo.
4 Thus the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took possession.
4 As tribos de Manassés e Efraim, descendentes de José, receberam essas terras como sua propriedade.
5 The border of the sons of Ephraim, according to their families: The border of their inheritance on the east side was Ataroth Addar as far as Upper Beth Horon.
5 As terras das famílias da tribo de Efraim são citadas em seguida. A sua divisa a leste era a cidade de Atarote-Adar, até Bete-Horom-de-Cima.
6 And the border went out toward the sea on the north side of Michmethath; then the border went around eastward to Taanath Shiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah.
6 Dali ia até o mar Mediterrâneo. Micmeta ficava ao norte. A leste a divisa voltava até a cidade de Taanate-Siló e passava além dela, a leste, indo até Janoa.
7 And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth and Naarah, reached to Jericho, and came out at the Jordan.
7 Daí descia até as cidades de Atarote e Naarate. Chegava até Jericó e terminava no rio Jordão.
8 The border went out from Tappuah westward to the Brook Kanah, and it ended at the sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim according to their families.
8 Para o oeste a divisa ia da cidade de Tapua ao riacho de Caná e terminava no mar Mediterrâneo. Estas foram as terras dadas às famílias da tribo de Efraim para serem propriedade delas.
9 And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
9 A tribo de Efraim também recebeu alguns povoados e aldeias que estavam dentro das terras da tribo de Manassés.
10 And they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day and are serving under tribute.
10 Porém os cananeus que viviam em Gezer não foram expulsos. Eles continuam a viver no meio dos efraimitas até hoje , mas são obrigados a trabalhar como escravos.
