1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, unto King Solomon at Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the City of David, which is Zion.
1 Congregou Salomão os anciãos de Israel, todos os cabeças das tribos, os príncipes das famílias dos israelitas, diante de si em Jerusalém, para fazerem subir a arca da Aliança do Senhor da Cidade de Davi, que é Sião, para o templo.
2 Therefore all the men of Israel assembled unto King Solomon at the feast in the month of Ethanim, which is the seventh month.
2 Todos os homens de Israel se congregaram junto ao rei Salomão na ocasião da festa, no mês de etanim, que é o sétimo.
3 So all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.
3 Vieram todos os anciãos de Israel, e os sacerdotes tomaram a arca do Senhor
4 And they brought up the ark of Jehovah, the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the tent. The priests and the Levites brought them up.
4 e a levaram para cima, com a tenda da congregação, e também os utensílios sagrados que nela havia; os sacerdotes e levitas é que os fizeram subir.
5 And King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.
5 O rei Salomão e toda a congregação de Israel, que se reunira a ele, estavam todos diante da arca, sacrificando ovelhas e bois, que, de tão numerosos, não se podiam contar.
6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the Holy of Holies, under the wings of the cherubim.
6 Puseram os sacerdotes a arca da Aliança do Senhor no seu lugar, no santuário mais interior do templo, no Santo dos Santos, debaixo das asas dos querubins.
7 For the cherubim spread their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered over the ark and its poles.
7 Pois os querubins estendiam as asas sobre o lugar da arca e, do alto, cobriam a arca e os varais.
8 The poles extended so that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day.
8 Os varais sobressaíam tanto, que suas pontas eram vistas do Santo Lugar, defronte do Santo dos Santos, porém de fora não se viam. Ali, estão até ao dia de hoje.
9 Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses had put there at Horeb, when Jehovah had made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
9 Nada havia na arca senão as duas tábuas de pedra, que Moisés ali pusera junto a Horebe, quando o Senhor fez aliança com os filhos de Israel, ao saírem da terra do Egito.
10 And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Jehovah,
10 Tendo os sacerdotes saído do santuário, uma nuvem encheu a Casa do Senhor ,
11 such that the priests were not able to stand to minister before the cloud; for the glory of Jehovah had filled the house of Jehovah.
11 de tal sorte que os sacerdotes não puderam permanecer ali, para ministrar, por causa da nuvem, porque a glória do Senhor enchera a Casa do Senhor .
12 Then Solomon spoke: Jehovah has said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.
12 Então, disse Salomão: O Senhor declarou que habitaria em trevas espessas.
13 I have built to establish for You an exalted house, a fixed place for You to abide continually.
13 Na verdade, edifiquei uma casa para tua morada, lugar para a tua eterna habitação.
14 And the king turned his face around and blessed the whole assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.
14 Voltou, então, o rei o rosto e abençoou a toda a congregação de Israel, enquanto se mantinha toda em pé;
15 And he said: Blessed is Jehovah the God of Israel, who has spoke with His mouth to my father David, and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying,
15 e disse: Bendito seja o Senhor , o Deus de Israel, que falou pessoalmente a Davi, meu pai, e pelo seu poder o cumpriu, dizendo:
16 Since the day that I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house, for My name to be there; but I chose David to be over My people Israel.
16 Desde o dia em que tirei Israel, o meu povo, do Egito, não escolhi cidade alguma de todas as tribos de Israel, para edificar uma casa a fim de ali estabelecer o meu nome; porém escolhi a Davi para chefe do meu povo de Israel.
17 Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of Jehovah the God of Israel.
17 Também Davi, meu pai, propusera em seu coração o edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor , o Deus de Israel.
18 But Jehovah said to my father David, Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.
18 Porém o Senhor disse a Davi, meu pai: Já que desejaste edificar uma casa ao meu nome, bem fizeste em o resolver em teu coração.
19 Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who shall come from your body, he shall build the house for My name.
19 Todavia, tu não edificarás a casa, porém teu filho, que descenderá de ti, ele a edificará ao meu nome.
20 Thus Jehovah has fulfilled His word which He has spoken; and I have risen up in place of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah has promised; and I have built a house for the name of Jehovah the God of Israel.
20 Assim, cumpriu o Senhor a sua palavra que tinha dito, pois me levantei em lugar de Davi, meu pai, e me assentei no trono de Israel, como prometera o Senhor ; e edifiquei a casa ao nome do Senhor , o Deus de Israel.
21 And there I have fixed a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of Jehovah which He had made with our fathers, when He brought them out from the land of Egypt.
21 E nela constituí um lugar para a arca, em que estão as tábuas da aliança que o Senhor fez com nossos pais, quando os tirou da terra do Egito.
22 Then Solomon stood before the altar of Jehovah in front of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward the heavens;
22 Pôs-se Salomão diante do altar do Senhor , na presença de toda a congregação de Israel; e estendeu as mãos para os céus
23 and he said: Jehovah the God of Israel, there is no god in the heavens above or on the earth below like You, who keeps Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.
23 e disse: Ó Senhor , Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu, em cima nos céus nem embaixo na terra, como tu que guardas a aliança e a misericórdia a teus servos que de todo o coração andam diante de ti;
24 You have kept what You have promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.
24 que cumpriste para com teu servo Davi, meu pai, o que lhe prometeste; pessoalmente o disseste e pelo teu poder o cumpriste, como hoje se vê.
25 Therefore, Jehovah the God of Israel, now keep what You have promised Your servant David my father, saying, You shall not fail to have a man sitting before Me on the throne of Israel, only if your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me as you have walked before Me.
25 Agora, pois, ó Senhor , Deus de Israel, faze a teu servo Davi, meu pai, o que lhe declaraste, dizendo: Não te faltará sucessor diante de mim, que se assente no trono de Israel, contanto que teus filhos guardem o seu caminho, para andarem diante de mim como tu andaste.
26 And now I pray, O God of Israel, let Your word be confirmed, which You have spoken to Your servant David my father.
26 Agora também, ó Deus de Israel, cumpra-se a tua palavra que disseste a teu servo Davi, meu pai.
27 But will God truly dwell on the earth? Behold, the heavens and the Heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this house which I have built!
27 Mas, de fato, habitaria Deus na terra? Eis que os céus e até o céu dos céus não te podem conter, quanto menos esta casa que eu edifiquei.
28 Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Jehovah my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today:
28 Atenta, pois, para a oração de teu servo e para a sua súplica, ó Senhor , meu Deus, para ouvires o clamor e a oração que faz, hoje, o teu servo diante de ti.
29 that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, toward the place of which You have said, My name shall be there, that You may hear the prayer which Your servant prays toward this place.
29 Para que os teus olhos estejam abertos noite e dia sobre esta casa, sobre este lugar, do qual disseste: O meu nome estará ali; para ouvires a oração que o teu servo fizer neste lugar.
30 And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in Heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.
30 Ouve, pois, a súplica do teu servo e do teu povo de Israel, quando orarem neste lugar; ouve no céu, lugar da tua habitação; ouve e perdoa.
31 When anyone sins against his neighbor, and is required to take an oath, and has come to swear an oath before Your altar in this house,
31 Se alguém pecar contra o seu próximo, e lhe for exigido que jure, e ele vier a jurar diante do teu altar, nesta casa,
32 then hear in Heaven, and act, and judge Your servants, to condemn the wicked, to bring his way upon his head, and to justify the righteous, giving him according to his righteousness.
32 ouve tu nos céus, e age, e julga teus servos, condenando o perverso, fazendo recair o seu proceder sobre a sua cabeça e justificando ao justo, para lhe retribuíres segundo a sua justiça.
33 When Your people Israel are struck down before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and when they turn back to You and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this house,
33 Quando o teu povo de Israel, por ter pecado contra ti, for ferido diante do inimigo, e se converter a ti, e confessar o teu nome, e orar, e suplicar a ti, nesta casa,
34 then hear in Heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You have given to their fathers.
34 ouve tu nos céus, e perdoa o pecado do teu povo de Israel, e faze-o voltar à terra que deste a seus pais.
35 When the heavens are restrained and there is no rain because they have sinned against You; when they have prayed toward this place and confessed Your name, and turned from their sin because You afflicted them,
35 Quando os céus se cerrarem, e não houver chuva, por ter o povo pecado contra ti, e orar neste lugar, e confessar o teu nome, e se converter dos seus pecados, havendo-o tu afligido,
36 then hear in Heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain upon Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.
36 ouve tu nos céus, perdoa o pecado de teus servos e do teu povo de Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho em que andem, e dá chuva na tua terra, que deste em herança ao teu povo.
37 When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemy besieges them in the land in their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;
37 Quando houver fome na terra ou peste, quando houver crestamento ou ferrugem, gafanhotos e larvas, quando o seu inimigo o cercar em qualquer das suas cidades ou houver alguma praga ou doença,
38 whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out his hands toward this house:
38 toda oração e súplica que qualquer homem ou todo o teu povo de Israel fizer, conhecendo cada um a chaga do seu coração e estendendo as mãos para o rumo desta casa,
39 then hear in Heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone have known the hearts of all the sons of men),
39 ouve tu nos céus, lugar da tua habitação, perdoa, age e dá a cada um segundo todos os seus caminhos, já que lhe conheces o coração, porque tu, só tu, és conhecedor do coração de todos os filhos dos homens;
40 that they may fear You all the days that they are alive on the face of the land which You have given to our fathers.
40 para que te temam todos os dias que viverem na terra que deste a nossos pais.
41 Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a distant land on account of Your name
41 Também ao estrangeiro, que não for do teu povo de Israel, porém vier de terras remotas, por amor do teu nome
42 (for they will hear of Your great name and Your strong hand and Your outstretched arm), when he has come and prayed toward this house,
42 (porque ouvirão do teu grande nome, e da tua mão poderosa, e do teu braço estendido), e orar, voltado para esta casa,
43 hear in Heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls upon You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name to fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by Your name.
43 ouve tu nos céus, lugar da tua habitação, e faze tudo o que o estrangeiro te pedir, a fim de que todos os povos da terra conheçam o teu nome, para te temerem como o teu povo de Israel e para saberem que esta casa, que eu edifiquei, é chamada pelo teu nome.
44 When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You send them, and when they pray to Jehovah toward the city which You have chosen and the house which I have built for Your name,
44 Quando o teu povo sair à guerra contra o seu inimigo, pelo caminho por que o enviares, e orar ao Senhor , voltado para esta cidade, que tu escolheste, e para a casa, que edifiquei ao teu nome,
45 then hear in Heaven their prayer and their supplication, and attend to their cause.
45 ouve tu nos céus a sua oração e a sua súplica e faze-lhe justiça.
46 When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin), and You have become angry with them and delivered them to the enemy, and they have taken them captive to the land of the enemy, far or near;
46 Quando pecarem contra ti (pois não há homem que não peque), e tu te indignares contra eles, e os entregares às mãos do inimigo, a fim de que os leve cativos à terra inimiga, longe ou perto esteja;
47 yet when they have returned in their minds in the land where they have been carried captive, and have repented in their hearts, and made supplication to You in the land of those holding them captive, saying, We have sinned and done perversely, we have committed wickedness;
47 e, na terra aonde forem levados cativos, caírem em si, e se converterem, e, na terra do seu cativeiro, te suplicarem, dizendo: Pecamos, e perversamente procedemos, e cometemos iniquidade;
48 and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who have taken them captive, and have prayed to You toward their land which You have given to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the house which I have built for Your name:
48 e se converterem a ti de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma, na terra de seus inimigos que os levarem cativos, e orarem a ti, voltados para a sua terra, que deste a seus pais, para esta cidade que escolheste e para a casa que edifiquei ao teu nome;
49 then hear in Heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and attend to their cause,
49 ouve tu nos céus, lugar da tua habitação, a sua prece e a sua súplica e faze-lhes justiça,
50 and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You; and grant them compassion before those who took them captive, that they may have compassion on them
50 perdoa o teu povo, que houver pecado contra ti, todas as suas transgressões que houverem cometido contra ti; e move tu à compaixão os que os levaram cativos para que se compadeçam deles.
51 (for they are Your people and Your inheritance, whom You have brought out of Egypt, out of the midst of the iron furnace),
51 Porque é o teu povo e a tua herança, que tiraste da terra do Egito, do meio do forno de ferro;
52 that Your eyes may be open to the supplication of Your servant and the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they call unto You.
52 para que teus olhos estejam abertos à súplica do teu servo e à súplica do teu povo de Israel, a fim de os ouvires em tudo quanto clamarem a ti.
53 For as You have spoken by the hand of Your servant Moses, You have separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to be Your inheritance, when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Jehovah.
53 Pois tu, ó Senhor Deus, os separaste dentre todos os povos da terra para tua herança, como falaste por intermédio do teu servo Moisés, quando tiraste do Egito a nossos pais.
54 And so it was, when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication unto Jehovah, that he arose before the altar of Jehovah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to the heavens.
54 Tendo Salomão acabado de fazer ao Senhor toda esta oração e súplica, estando de joelhos e com as mãos estendidas para os céus, se levantou de diante do altar do Senhor ,
55 And he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying:
55 pôs-se em pé e abençoou a toda a congregação de Israel em alta voz, dizendo:
56 Blessed is Jehovah, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He has spoken. There has not failed one word of all His good word, which He has spoken by the hand of His servant Moses.
56 Bendito seja o Senhor , que deu repouso ao seu povo de Israel, segundo tudo o que prometera; nem uma só palavra falhou de todas as suas boas promessas, feitas por intermédio de Moisés, seu servo.
57 Jehovah our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us,
57 O Senhor , nosso Deus, seja conosco, assim como foi com nossos pais; não nos desampare e não nos deixe;
58 that He may incline our hearts unto Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He has commanded our fathers.
58 a fim de que a si incline o nosso coração, para andarmos em todos os seus caminhos e guardarmos os seus mandamentos, e os seus estatutos, e os seus juízos, que ordenou a nossos pais.
59 And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before Jehovah, be near Jehovah our God day and night, that He may attend to the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, each matter from day to day,
59 Que estas minhas palavras, com que supliquei perante o Senhor , estejam presentes, diante do Senhor , nosso Deus, de dia e de noite, para que faça ele justiça ao seu servo e ao seu povo de Israel, segundo cada dia o exigir,
60 that all the peoples of the earth may know that Jehovah is God; there is no other.
60 para que todos os povos da terra saibam que o Senhor é Deus e que não há outro.
61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with Jehovah our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.
61 Seja perfeito o vosso coração para com o Senhor , nosso Deus, para andardes nos seus estatutos e guardardes os seus mandamentos, como hoje o fazeis.
62 And the king and all Israel with him were offering sacrifices before Jehovah.
62 E o rei e todo o Israel com ele ofereceram sacrifícios diante do Senhor .
63 And Solomon offered sacrifices of peace offerings, which he offered unto Jehovah, twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. Thus the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Jehovah.
63 Ofereceu Salomão em sacrifício pacífico o que apresentou ao Senhor , vinte e dois mil bois e cento e vinte mil ovelhas. Assim, o rei e todos os filhos de Israel consagraram a Casa do Senhor .
64 And for that day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was in front of the house of Jehovah; for there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before Jehovah was too small to receive the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.
64 No mesmo dia, consagrou o rei o meio do átrio que estava diante da Casa do Senhor ; porquanto ali preparara os holocaustos e as ofertas com a gordura dos sacrifícios pacíficos; porque o altar de bronze que estava diante do Senhor era muito pequeno para nele caberem os holocaustos, as ofertas de manjares e a gordura dos sacrifícios pacíficos.
65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entrance of Hamath to the Brook of Egypt, before Jehovah our God, seven days and seven more days; fourteen days.
65 No mesmo tempo, celebrou Salomão também a Festa dos Tabernáculos e todo o Israel com ele, uma grande congregação, desde a entrada de Hamate até ao rio do Egito, perante o Senhor , nosso Deus; por sete dias além dos primeiros sete, a saber, catorze dias.
66 On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the good that Jehovah had done for His servant David, and for Israel His people.
66 No oitavo dia desta festa, despediu o povo, e eles abençoaram o rei; então, se foram às suas tendas, alegres e de coração contente por causa de todo o bem que o Senhor fizera a Davi, seu servo, e a Israel, seu povo.
