1 The `title of the hundrid and sixte salm. Alleluya. Knouleche ye to the Lord, for he is good; for his merci is in to the world.
1 Aleluia! Deem graças ao porque ele é bom, porque a sua misericórdia dura para sempre.
2 Sei thei, that ben ayen bouyt of the Lord; whiche he ayen bouyte fro the hond of the enemye, fro cuntreis he gaderide hem togidere.
2 Quem saberá contar os poderosos feitos do ou anunciar todo o seu louvor?
3 Fro the risyng of the sunne, and fro the goyng doun; fro the north, and fro the see.
3 Bem-aventurados os que guardam a retidão e os que praticam a justiça em todo tempo.
4 Thei erriden in wildirnesse, in a place with out watir; thei founden not weie of the citee of dwellyng place.
4 Lembra-te de mim, Senhor , segundo a tua bondade para com o teu povo; visita-me com a tua salvação,
5 Thei weren hungri and thirsti; her soule failide in hem.
5 para que eu veja a prosperidade dos teus escolhidos, e me alegre com a alegria do teu povo, e me glorie com a tua herança.
6 And thei crieden to the Lord, whanne thei weren set in tribulacioun; and he delyuerede hem fro her nedynesses.
6 Pecamos, como os nossos pais; cometemos iniquidade, procedemos mal.
7 And he ledde forth hem in to the riyt weie; that thei schulden go in to the citee of dwelling.
7 Nossos pais, no Egito, não entenderam as tuas maravilhas; não se lembraram da multidão das tuas misericórdias e foram rebeldes junto ao mar, o mar Vermelho.
8 The mercies of the Lord knouleche to hym; and hise merueilis knouleche to the sones of men.
8 Mas Deus os salvou por amor do seu nome, para lhes revelar o seu poder.
9 For he fillide a voide man; and he fillide with goodis an hungry man.
9 Repreendeu o mar Vermelho, e ele secou; ele os fez passar pelos abismos, como por um deserto.
10 God delyuerede men sittynge in derknessis, and in the schadowe of deth; and men prisoned in beggerye and in yrun.
10 Salvou-os das mãos de quem os odiava e os resgatou do poder do inimigo.
11 For thei maden bitter the spechis of God; and wraththiden the councel of the hiyeste.
11 As águas cobriram os seus opressores; nem um deles escapou.
12 And the herte of hem was maad meke in trauelis; and thei weren sijk, and noon was that helpide.
12 Então creram nas suas palavras e lhe cantaram louvor.
13 And thei crieden to the Lord, whanne thei weren set in tribulacioun; and he delyuerede hem from her nedynessis.
13 Logo, porém, se esqueceram das obras de Deus e não esperaram pelos seus desígnios.
14 And he ledde hem out of derknessis, and schadowe of deth; and brak the boondis of hem.
14 Entregaram-se à cobiça, no deserto; e, nos lugares áridos, puseram Deus à prova.
15 The mercies of the Lord knouleche to hym; and hise merueils knouleche to the sones of men.
15 Concedeu-lhes o que pediram, mas enviou-lhes também uma doença terrível.
16 For he al to-brak brasun yatis; and he brak yrun barris.
16 Tiveram inveja de Moisés, no acampamento, e de Arão, o santo do
17 He vptook hem fro the weie of her wickidnesse; for thei weren maad lowe for her vnriytfulnesses.
17 A terra se abriu, engoliu Datã, e cobriu o grupo de Abirão.
18 The soule of hem wlatide al mete; and thei neiyeden `til to the yatis of deth.
18 Um fogo se acendeu contra o grupo deles; as chamas devoraram os ímpios.
19 And thei crieden to the Lord, whanne thei weren set in tribulacioun; and he delyuerede hem fro her nedynessis.
19 Em Horebe, fizeram um bezerro e adoraram o ídolo de metal fundido.
20 He sente his word, and heelide hem; and delyuerede hem fro the perischingis of hem.
20 E, assim, trocaram a glória de Deus pela imagem de um novilho que come capim.
21 The mercies of the Lord knouleche to hym; and hise merueils to the sones of men.
21 Esqueceram-se de Deus, seu Salvador, que, no Egito, havia feito coisas grandiosas,
22 And offre thei the sacrifice of heriyng; and telle thei hise werkis in ful out ioiyng.
22 maravilhas na terra de Cam, tremendos feitos no mar Vermelho.
23 Thei that gon doun in to the see in schippis; and maken worching in many watris.
23 Deus os teria exterminado, como tinha dito, se Moisés, seu escolhido, não se houvesse intercedido, impedindo que o seu furor os destruísse.
24 Thei sien the werkis of the Lord; and hise merueilis in the depthe.
24 Também desprezaram a terra aprazível e não deram crédito à palavra de Deus;
25 He seide, and the spirit of tempest stood; and the wawis therof weren arerid.
25 pelo contrário, murmuraram em suas tendas e não ouviram a voz do
26 Thei stien til to heuenes, and goen doun `til to the depthis; the soule of hem failide in yuelis.
26 Então lhes jurou, de mão erguida, que os havia de arrasar no deserto;
27 Thei weren troblid, and thei weren moued as a drunkun man; and al the wisdom of hem was deuourid.
27 e também espalharia entre as nações a sua descendência e os dispersaria por outras terras.
28 And thei crieden to the Lord, whanne thei weren set in tribulacioun; and he ledde hem out of her nedynessis.
28 Também se juntaram a Baal-Peor e comeram os sacrifícios dos ídolos mortos.
29 And he ordeynede the tempest therof in to a soft wynde; and the wawis therof weren stille.
29 Assim, com tais ações, provocaram a ira do e a peste se espalhou entre eles.
30 And thei weren glad, for tho weren stille; and he ladde hem forth in to the hauene of her wille.
30 Então se levantou Fineias e executou o juízo; e a peste cessou.
31 The mercies of the Lord knouleche to hym; and hise merueilis to the sones of men.
31 Isso lhe foi atribuído como justiça, de geração em geração, para sempre.
32 And enhaunse thei him in the chirche of the puple; and preise thei him in the chaier of eldre men.
32 Depois, provocaram Deus nas águas de Meribá, e, por causa deles, aconteceu uma desgraça com Moisés,
33 He hath set floodis in to deseert; and the out goingis of watris in to thirst.
33 pois foram rebeldes ao Espírito de Deus, e Moisés falou sem refletir.
34 He hath set fruytful lond in to saltnesse; for the malice of men dwellyng ther ynne.
34 Não exterminaram os povos, como o lhes havia ordenado.
35 He hath set deseert in to pondis of watris; and erthe with out watir in to outgoyngis of watris.
35 Em vez disso, se mesclaram com as nações e aprenderam os seus costumes.
36 And he settide there hungri men; and thei maden a citee of dwelling.
36 Adoraram os seus ídolos, os quais se tornaram armadilha para eles.
37 And thei sowiden feeldis, and plauntiden vynes; and maden fruyt of birthe.
37 Sacrificaram seus filhos e suas filhas aos demônios.
38 And he blesside hem, and thei weren multiplied greetli; and he made not lesse her werk beestis.
38 Derramaram sangue inocente, o sangue de seus filhos e filhas, que sacrificaram aos ídolos de Canaã; e a terra foi contaminada com sangue.
39 And thei weren maad fewe; and thei weren trauelid of tribulacioun of yuelis and of sorewis.
39 Assim se contaminaram com as suas obras e se prostituíram nos seus feitos.
40 Strijf was sched out on princes; and he made hem for to erre without the weie, and not in the weie.
40 Por isso, acendeu-se a ira do e ele abominou a sua própria herança
41 And he helpide the pore man fro pouert; and settide meynees as a scheep bringynge forth lambren.
41 e os entregou ao poder das nações; sobre eles dominaram os que os odiavam.
42 Riytful men schulen se, and schulen be glad; and al wickidnesse schal stoppe his mouth.
42 Também os oprimiram os seus inimigos, sob cujo poder foram subjugados.
43 Who is wijs, and schal kepe these thingis; and schal vndirstonde the mercies of the Lord?
43 Muitas vezes os libertou, mas eles o provocaram com os seus planos e, na sua iniquidade, foram abatidos.

44 Mas Deus olhou para eles quando estavam angustiados e lhes ouviu o clamor;

45 lembrou-se, a favor deles, de sua aliança e se compadeceu, segundo a multidão de suas misericórdias.

46 Fez também com que deles tivessem compaixão todos os que os levaram cativos.

47 Salva-nos, Senhor , nosso Deus, e congrega-nos dentre as nações, para que demos graças ao teu santo nome e nos gloriemos no teu louvor.

48 Bendito seja o Senhor , Deus de Israel, de eternidade a eternidade; e todo o povo diga: “Amém!” Aleluia!
