1 And Y, britheren, myyte not speke to you as to spiritual men, but as to fleischli men;
1 Irmãos, quando estive com vocês, não pude lhes falar como a pessoas espirituais, mas como se pertencessem a este mundo ou fossem criancinhas em Cristo.
2 as to litle children in Crist, Y yaf to you mylk drynke, not mete; for ye myyten not yit, nether ye moun now, for yit ye ben fleischli.
2 Tive de alimentá-los com leite, e não com alimento sólido, pois não estavam aptos para recebê-lo. E ainda não estão,
3 For while strijf is among you, whether ye ben not fleischli, and ye gon aftir man?
3 porque ainda são controlados por sua natureza humana. Têm ciúme uns dos outros, discutem e brigam entre si. Acaso isso não mostra que são controlados por sua natureza humana e que vivem como pessoas do mundo?
4 For whanne summe seith, Y am of Poul, another, But Y am of Apollo, whethir ye ben not men? What therfor is Apollo, and what Poul?
4 Quando um de vocês diz: “Eu sigo Paulo”, e o outro diz: “Eu sigo Apolo”, não estão agindo exatamente como as pessoas do mundo?
5 Thei ben mynystris of hym, to whom ye han bileuyd; and to ech man as God hath youun.
5 Afinal, quem é Paulo? Quem é Apolo? Somos apenas servos de Deus por meio dos quais vocês vieram a crer. Cada um de nós fez o trabalho do qual o Senhor nos encarregou.
6 Y plauntide, Apollo moystide, but God yaf encreessyng.
6 Eu plantei e Apolo regou, mas quem fez crescer foi Deus.
7 Therfor nether he that plauntith is ony thing, nethir he that moistith, but God that yiueth encreessyng.
7 Não importa quem planta ou quem rega, mas sim Deus, que faz crescer.
8 And he that plauntith, and he that moistith, ben oon; and ech schal take his owne mede, aftir his trauel.
8 Quem planta e quem rega trabalham para o mesmo fim, e ambos serão recompensados por seu árduo trabalho.
9 For we ben the helperis of God; ye ben the erthetiliyng of God, ye ben the bildyng of God.
9 Pois nós somos colaboradores de Deus, e vocês são lavoura de Deus e edifício de Deus.
10 Aftir the grace `of God that is youun to me, as a wise maistir carpenter Y settide the foundement; and another bildith aboue. But ech man se, hou he bildith aboue.
10 Pela graça que me foi dada, lancei o alicerce como um construtor competente, e agora outros estão construindo sobre ele. Mas quem constrói sobre o alicerce precisa ter muito cuidado,
11 For no man may sette another foundement, outtakun that that is sett, which is Crist Jhesus.
11 pois ninguém pode lançar outro alicerce além daquele que já foi posto, isto é, Jesus Cristo.
12 For if ony bildith ouer this foundement, gold, siluer, preciouse stoonys, stickis, hey, or stobil, euery mannus werk schal be open;
12 Aqueles que constroem sobre esse alicerce podem usar vários materiais: ouro, prata, pedras preciosas, madeira, feno ou palha.
13 for the dai of the Lord schal declare, for it schal be schewid in fier; the fier schal preue the werk of ech man, what maner werk it is.
13 No dia do juízo, porém, o fogo revelará que tipo de obra cada construtor realizou, e o fogo mostrará se a obra tem algum valor.
14 If the werk of ony man dwelle stille, which he bildide aboue, he schal resseyue mede.
14 Se ela sobreviver, o construtor receberá recompensa.
15 If ony mannus werk brenne, he schal suffre harm; but he schal be saaf, so netheles as bi fier.
15 Se ela queimar, o construtor sofrerá grande prejuízo, mas será salvo como alguém que é resgatado do meio do fogo.
16 Witen ye not, that ye ben the temple of God, and the spirit of God dwellith in you?
16 Vocês não entendem que são o templo de Deus e que o Espírito de Deus habita em vocês?
17 And if ony defoulith the temple of God, God schal leese hym; for the temple of God is hooli, which ye ben.
17 Deus destruirá quem destruir seu templo. Pois o templo de Deus é santo, e vocês são esse templo.
18 No man disseyue hym silf. If ony man among you is seyn to be wiys in this world, be he maad a fool, that he be wijs.
18 Que ninguém se engane. Se algum de vocês pensa que é sábio conforme os padrões desta era, deve tornar-se louco a fim de ser verdadeiramente sábio.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foli anentis God; for it is writun, Y schal catche wise men in her fel wisdom;
19 Pois a sabedoria deste mundo é loucura para Deus. Como dizem as Escrituras: “Ele apanha os sábios na armadilha da própria astúcia deles”.
20 and eft, The Lord knowith the thouytis of wise men, for tho ben veyn.
20 E também: “O Senhor conhece os pensamentos dos sábios; sabe que nada valem”.
21 Therfor no man haue glorie in men.
21 Portanto, não se orgulhem de seguir líderes humanos, pois tudo lhes pertence:
22 For alle thingis ben youre, ethir Poul, ether Apollo, ether Cefas, ether the world, ether lijf, ether deth, ether thingis present, ethir thingis to comynge; for alle thingis ben youre,
22 Paulo, Apolo ou Pedro, o mundo, a vida e a morte, o presente e o futuro. Tudo é de vocês,
23 and ye ben of Crist, and Crist is of God.
23 e vocês são de Cristo, e Cristo é de Deus.
