1 And Y, britheren, myyte not speke to you as to spiritual men, but as to fleischli men;
1 Eu, porém, irmãos, não pude falar a vocês como a pessoas espirituais, e sim como a pessoas carnais, como a crianças em Cristo.
2 as to litle children in Crist, Y yaf to you mylk drynke, not mete; for ye myyten not yit, nether ye moun now, for yit ye ben fleischli.
2 Eu lhes dei leite para beber; não pude alimentá-los com comida sólida, porque vocês ainda não podiam suportar. Nem ainda agora podem, porque vocês ainda são carnais.
3 For while strijf is among you, whether ye ben not fleischli, and ye gon aftir man?
3 Porque, se há ciúmes e brigas entre vocês, será que isso não mostra que são carnais e andam segundo os padrões humanos?
4 For whanne summe seith, Y am of Poul, another, But Y am of Apollo, whethir ye ben not men? What therfor is Apollo, and what Poul?
4 Quando alguém diz: “Eu sou de Paulo”, e outro diz: “Eu sou de Apolo”, não é evidente que vocês andam segundo padrões humanos?
5 Thei ben mynystris of hym, to whom ye han bileuyd; and to ech man as God hath youun.
5 Quem é Apolo? E quem é Paulo? São servos por meio de quem vocês creram, e isto conforme o Senhor concedeu a cada um.
6 Y plauntide, Apollo moystide, but God yaf encreessyng.
6 Eu plantei, Apolo regou, mas o crescimento veio de Deus.
7 Therfor nether he that plauntith is ony thing, nethir he that moistith, but God that yiueth encreessyng.
7 De modo que nem o que planta é alguma coisa, nem o que rega, mas Deus, que dá o crescimento.
8 And he that plauntith, and he that moistith, ben oon; and ech schal take his owne mede, aftir his trauel.
8 Ora, o que planta e o que rega são um, e cada um receberá a sua recompensa de acordo com o seu próprio trabalho.
9 For we ben the helperis of God; ye ben the erthetiliyng of God, ye ben the bildyng of God.
9 Porque nós somos cooperadores de Deus, e vocês são lavoura de Deus e edifício de Deus.
10 Aftir the grace `of God that is youun to me, as a wise maistir carpenter Y settide the foundement; and another bildith aboue. But ech man se, hou he bildith aboue.
10 Segundo a graça de Deus que me foi dada, lancei o fundamento como sábio construtor, e outro edifica sobre ele. Porém cada um veja como edifica.
11 For no man may sette another foundement, outtakun that that is sett, which is Crist Jhesus.
11 Porque ninguém pode lançar outro fundamento, além do que foi posto, o qual é Jesus Cristo.
12 For if ony bildith ouer this foundement, gold, siluer, preciouse stoonys, stickis, hey, or stobil, euery mannus werk schal be open;
12 E, se o que alguém edifica sobre o fundamento é ouro, prata, pedras preciosas, madeira, feno ou palha,
13 for the dai of the Lord schal declare, for it schal be schewid in fier; the fier schal preue the werk of ech man, what maner werk it is.
13 a obra de cada um se tornará manifesta, pois o Dia a demonstrará. Porque será revelada pelo fogo, e o fogo provará qual é a obra de cada um.
14 If the werk of ony man dwelle stille, which he bildide aboue, he schal resseyue mede.
14 Se aquilo que alguém edificou sobre o fundamento permanecer, esse receberá recompensa.
15 If ony mannus werk brenne, he schal suffre harm; but he schal be saaf, so netheles as bi fier.
15 Se a obra de alguém se queimar, esse sofrerá dano. Porém ele mesmo será salvo, mas como que através do fogo.
16 Witen ye not, that ye ben the temple of God, and the spirit of God dwellith in you?
16 Vocês não sabem que são santuário de Deus e que o Espírito de Deus habita em vocês?
17 And if ony defoulith the temple of God, God schal leese hym; for the temple of God is hooli, which ye ben.
17 Se alguém destruir o santuário de Deus, Deus o destruirá. Porque o santuário de Deus, que são vocês, é sagrado.
18 No man disseyue hym silf. If ony man among you is seyn to be wiys in this world, be he maad a fool, that he be wijs.
18 Que ninguém engane a si mesmo! Se algum de vocês pensa que é sábio neste mundo, faça-se louco para se tornar sábio.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foli anentis God; for it is writun, Y schal catche wise men in her fel wisdom;
19 Porque a sabedoria deste mundo é loucura diante de Deus. Pois está escrito: “Ele apanha os sábios na própria astúcia deles.”
20 and eft, The Lord knowith the thouytis of wise men, for tho ben veyn.
20 E também: “O Senhor conhece os pensamentos dos sábios, e sabe que são pensamentos vãos.”
21 Therfor no man haue glorie in men.
21 Portanto, ninguém se glorie nos homens. Porque tudo é de vocês:
22 For alle thingis ben youre, ethir Poul, ether Apollo, ether Cefas, ether the world, ether lijf, ether deth, ether thingis present, ethir thingis to comynge; for alle thingis ben youre,
22 seja Paulo, seja Apolo, seja Cefas, seja o mundo, seja a vida, seja a morte, sejam as coisas presentes, sejam as futuras, tudo é de vocês,
23 and ye ben of Crist, and Crist is of God.
23 e vocês são de Cristo, e Cristo é de Deus.
