1 Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, O nation that has no shame;
1 Congrega-te, sim, congrega-te, ó nação que não tens desejo,
2 before the decree brings forth, [before] the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Yahweh comes on you{+}, before the day of Yahweh's anger comes on you{+}.
2 antes que saia o decreto, e o dia passe como a palha; antes que venha sobre vós a ira do Senhor ; sim, antes que venha sobre vós o dia da ira do Senhor .
3 Seek{+} Yahweh, all you{+} meek of the earth, that have kept his ordinances; seek{+} righteousness, seek{+} meekness: it may be you{+} will be hid in the day of Yahweh's anger.
3 Buscai o Senhor , vós todos os mansos da terra, que pondes por obra o seu juízo; buscai a justiça, buscai a mansidão; porventura sereis escondidos no dia da ira do Senhor .
4 For Gaza will be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation; they will drive out Ashdod at noonday, and Ekron will be rooted up.
4 Porque Gaza será desamparada, e Asquelom, assolada; Asdode ao meio-dia será expelida, e Ecrom, desarraigada.
5 Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of Yahweh is against you{+}, O Canaan, the land of the Philistines; I will destroy you, that there will be no inhabitant.
5 Ai dos habitantes da borda do mar, do povo dos quereteus! A palavra do Senhor será contra vós, ó Canaã, terra dos filisteus, e eu vos farei destruir, até que não haja morador.
6 And the seacoast will be pastures, cisterns of shepherds and folds for flocks.
6 E a borda do mar será de pastagens, com cabanas para os pastores e currais para os rebanhos.
7 And the portion will be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they will feed [their flocks] thereupon; in the houses of Ashkelon they will lie down in the evening; for Yahweh their God will visit them, and bring back their destiny.
7 E será a costa para o resto da casa de Judá para que nela apascentem; à tarde, se assentarão nas casas de Asquelom, porque o Senhor , seu Deus, os visitará e reconduzirá os seus cativos.
8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the sons of Ammon, with which they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
8 Eu ouvi o escárnio de Moabe e as injuriosas palavras dos filhos de Amom, com que escarneceram do meu povo e se engrandeceram contra o seu termo.
9 Therefore as I live, says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab will be as Sodom, and the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people will make a prey of them, and the remnant of my nation will inherit them.
9 Portanto, tão certo como eu vivo, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, Moabe será como Sodoma, e os filhos de Amom, como Gomorra, campo de urtigas, e poços de sal, e assolação perpétua; o resto do meu povo os saqueará, e o restante do meu povo os possuirá.
10 This they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of Yahweh of hosts.
10 Isso terão em recompensa da sua soberba, porque escarneceram e se engrandeceram contra o povo do Senhor dos Exércitos.
11 Yahweh will be awesome to them; for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men will worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the nations.
11 O Senhor será terrível para eles, porque aniquilará todos os deuses da terra; e todos virão adorá-lo, cada um desde o seu lugar, todas as ilhas das nações.
12 You{+} Ethiopians also, they are slain by my sword.
12 Também vós, ó etíopes, sereis mortos com a minha espada.
13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria, and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like the wilderness.
13 Estenderá também a sua mão contra o Norte e destruirá a Assíria; e fará de Nínive uma assolação, terra seca como o deserto.
14 And herds will lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the pelican and the porcupine will lodge in her capitals; [their] voice will sing in the windows; desolation will be in the thresholds: for he has laid bare the cedar-work.
14 E, no meio dela, repousarão os rebanhos, todos os animais dos povos; e alojar-se-ão nos seus capitéis assim o pelicano como o ouriço; a voz do seu canto retinirá nas janelas, a assolação estará no umbral, quando tiver descoberto a sua obra de cedro.
15 This is the joyous city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none besides me: how has she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! Everyone who passes by her will hiss, and wag his hand.
15 Esta é a cidade alegre e descuidada, que dizia no seu coração: Eu sou, e não há outra além de mim; como se tornou em assolação, em pousada de animais! Qualquer que passar por ela assobiará e meneará a sua mão.
