Jeremias 20

1 Now Pashhur, the son of Immer the priest, who was leading officer in the house of Yahweh, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things.
1 E Pasur, filho de Imer, o sacerdote, que havia sido nomeado presidente na casa do SENHOR, ouviu a Jeremias, que profetizava estas palavras.
2 Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, which was in the house of Yahweh.
2 E feriu Pasur ao profeta Jeremias, e o colocou no cepo que está na porta superior de Benjamim, na casa do Senhor.
3 And it came to pass on the next day, that Pashhur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah to him, Yahweh has not called your name Pashhur, but Magor-missabib.
3 E sucedeu que no dia seguinte Pasur tirou a Jeremias do cepo. Então disse-lhe Jeremias: O Senhor não chama o teu nome Pasur, mas, Terror por todos os lados.
4 For thus says Yahweh, Look, I will make you a terror to yourself, and to all your friends; and they will fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes will watch it; and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them captive to Babylon, and will slay them with the sword.
4 Porque assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que farei de ti um terror para ti mesmo, e para todos os teus amigos. Eles cairão à espada de seus inimigos, e teus olhos o verão. Entregarei todo o Judá na mão do rei de babilônia; ele os levará presos a babilônia, e feri-los-á à espada.
5 Moreover I will give all the riches of this city, and all its gains, and all its precious things, yes, all the treasures of the kings of Judah I will give into the hand of their enemies; and they will make them a prey, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.
5 Também entregarei toda a riqueza desta cidade, e todo o seu trabalho, e todas as suas coisas preciosas, sim, todos os tesouros dos reis de Judá entregarei na mão de seus inimigos, e saqueá-los-ão, e tomá-los-ão e levá-los-ão a babilônia.
6 And you, Pashhur, and all who dwell in your house will go into captivity; and you will come to Babylon, and there you will die, and there you will be buried, you, and all your friends, to whom you have prophesied falsely.
6 E tu, Pasur, e todos os moradores da tua casa ireis para o cativeiro; e virás a babilônia, e ali morrerás, e ali serás sepultado, tu, e todos os teus amigos, aos quais profetizaste falsamente.
7 O Yahweh, you have persuaded me, and I was persuaded; you are stronger than I, and have prevailed: I have become a laughingstock all the day, everyone mocks me.
7 Persuadiste-me, ó Senhor, e persuadido fiquei; mais forte foste do que eu, e prevaleceste; sirvo de escárnio todo o dia; cada um deles zomba de mim.
8 For as often as I speak, I cry out; I cry, Violence and destruction! Because the word of Yahweh has been a reproach to me, and a derision, all the day.
8 Porque desde que falo, grito, clamo: Violência e destruição; porque se tornou a palavra do Senhor um opróbrio e ludíbrio todo o dia.
9 And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak anymore in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I can't [contain].
9 Então disse eu: Não me lembrarei dele, e não falarei mais no seu nome; mas isso foi no meu coração como fogo ardente, encerrado nos meus ossos; e estou fatigado de sofrer, e não posso mais.
10 For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, [say] all my friends among common man, those who watch for my fall; perhaps he will be persuaded, and we will prevail against him, and we will take our revenge on him.
10 Porque ouvi a murmuração de muitos, terror de todos os lados: Denunciai, e o denunciaremos; todos os que têm paz comigo aguardam o meu manquejar, dizendo: Bem pode ser que se deixe persuadir; então prevaleceremos contra ele e nos vingaremos dele.
11 But Yahweh is with me as a mighty one [and] a terrible: therefore my persecutors will stumble, and they will not prevail; they will be completely put to shame, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which will never be forgotten.
11 Mas o Senhor está comigo como um valente terrível; por isso tropeçarão os meus perseguidores, e não prevalecerão; ficarão muito confundidos; porque não se houveram prudentemente, terão uma confusão perpétua que nunca será esquecida.
12 But, O Yahweh of hosts, that try the righteous, that see the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them; for to you I have revealed my cause.
12 Tu, pois, ó Senhor dos Exércitos, que provas o justo, e vês os rins e o coração, permite que eu veja a tua vingança contra eles; pois já te revelei a minha causa.
13 Sing to Yahweh, praise you{+} Yahweh; for he has delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers.
13 Cantai ao Senhor, louvai ao Senhor; pois livrou a alma do necessitado da mão dos malfeitores.
14 Cursed be the day in which I was born: don't let the day in which my mother bore me be blessed.
14 Maldito o dia em que nasci; não seja bendito o dia em que minha mãe me deu à luz.
15 Cursed be the man who brought good news to my father, saying, A man-child is born to you; making him very glad.
15 Maldito o homem que deu as novas a meu pai, dizendo: Nasceu-te um filho; alegrando-o com isso grandemente.
16 And let that man be as the cities which Yahweh overthrew, and didn't repent: and let him hear a cry in the morning, and shouting at noontime;
16 E seja esse homem como as cidades que o Senhor destruiu e não se arrependeu; e ouça clamor pela manhã, e ao tempo do meio-dia um alarido.
17 because he didn't slay me from the womb; and so my mother would have been my grave, and her womb always pregnant.
17 Por que não me matou na madre? Assim minha mãe teria sido a minha sepultura, e teria ficado grávida perpetuamente!
18 Why did I come forth out of the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
18 Por que saí da madre, para ver trabalho e tristeza, e para que os meus dias se consumam na vergonha?
