1 And the Ziphites came to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Does not David hide himself in the hill of Hachilah, which is before the desert?
1 Vieram os zifeus a Saul, a Gibeá, e disseram: Não se acha Davi escondido no outeiro de Haquila, defronte de Jesimom?
2 Then Saul arose, and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.
2 Então, Saul se levantou e desceu ao deserto de Zife, e com ele, três mil homens escolhidos de Israel, a buscar a Davi.
3 And Saul encamped in the hill of Hachilah, which is before the desert, by the way. But David remained in the wilderness, and he saw that Saul came after him into the wilderness.
3 Acampou-se Saul no outeiro de Haquila, defronte de Jesimom, junto ao caminho; porém Davi ficou no deserto, e, sabendo que Saul vinha para ali à sua procura,
4 David therefore sent out spies, and understood that Saul came of a certainty.
4 enviou espias, e soube que Saul tinha vindo.
5 And David arose, and came to the place where Saul had encamped; and David saw the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay inside the place of the wagons, and the people were encamped round about him.
5 Davi se levantou, e veio ao lugar onde Saul acampara, e viu o lugar onde se deitaram Saul e Abner, filho de Ner, comandante do seu exército. Saul estava deitado no acampamento, e o povo, ao redor dele.
6 Then David answered and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with you.
6 Disse Davi a Aimeleque, o heteu, e a Abisai, filho de Zeruia, irmão de Joabe: Quem descerá comigo a Saul, ao arraial? Respondeu Abisai: Eu descerei contigo.
7 So David and Abishai came to the people by night: and, look, Saul lay sleeping inside the place of the wagons, with his spear stuck in the ground at his head; and Abner and the people lay round about him.
7 Vieram, pois, Davi e Abisai, de noite, ao povo, e eis que Saul estava deitado, dormindo no acampamento, e a sua lança, fincada na terra à sua cabeceira; Abner e o povo estavam deitados ao redor dele.
8 Then Abishai said to David, God has delivered up your enemy into your hand this day: now therefore let me strike him, I pray you, with the spear to the earth at one stroke, and I will not strike him the second time.
8 Então, disse Abisai a Davi: Deus te entregou, hoje, nas mãos o teu inimigo; deixa-me, pois, agora, encravá-lo com a lança, ao chão, de um só golpe; não será preciso segundo.
9 And David said to Abishai, Don't destroy him; for who can put forth his hand against Yahweh's anointed, and be innocent?
9 Davi, porém, respondeu a Abisai: Não o mates, pois quem haverá que estenda a mão contra o ungido do Senhor e fique inocente?
10 And David said, As Yahweh lives, Yahweh will strike him; or his day will come to die; or he will go down into battle and perish.
10 Acrescentou Davi: Tão certo como vive o Senhor , este o ferirá, ou o seu dia chegará em que morra, ou em que, descendo à batalha, seja morto.
11 Yahweh forbid that I should put forth my hand against Yahweh's anointed: but now take, I pray you, the spear that is at his head, and the cruse of water, and let us go.
11 O Senhor me guarde de que eu estenda a mão contra o seu ungido; agora, porém, toma a lança que está à sua cabeceira e a bilha da água, e vamo-nos.
12 So David took the spear and the cruse of water from Saul's head; and they got away: and no man saw it, nor knew it, neither did any awake; for they were all asleep, because a deep sleep from Yahweh had fallen on them.
12 Tomou, pois, Davi a lança e a bilha da água da cabeceira de Saul, e foram-se; ninguém o viu, nem o soube, nem se despertou, pois todos dormiam, porquanto, da parte do Senhor , lhes havia caído profundo sono.
13 Then David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of the mountain far off; a great space being between them;
13 Tendo Davi passado ao outro lado, pôs-se no cimo do monte ao longe, de maneira que entre eles havia grande distância.
14 and David cried to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Don't you answer, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who are you that cried to the king?
14 Bradou ao povo e a Abner, filho de Ner, dizendo: Não respondes, Abner? Então, Abner acudiu e disse: Quem és tu, que bradas ao rei?
15 And David said to Abner, Are you not a [valiant] man? And who is like you in Israel? Why then haven't you kept watch over your lord the king? For there came one of the people in to destroy the king your lord.
15 Então, disse Davi a Abner: Porventura, não és homem? E quem há em Israel como tu? Por que, pois, não guardaste o rei, teu senhor? Porque veio um do povo para destruir o rei, teu senhor.
16 This thing is not good that you have done. As Yahweh lives, you{+} are worthy to die, because you{+} haven't kept watch over your{+} lord, Yahweh's anointed. And now see where the king's spear is, and the cruse of water that was at his head.
16 Não é bom isso que fizeste; tão certo como vive o Senhor , deveis morrer, vós que não guardastes a vosso senhor, o ungido do Senhor ; vede, agora, onde está a lança do rei e a bilha da água, que tinha à sua cabeceira.
17 And Saul knew David's voice, and said, Is this your voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.
17 Então, reconheceu Saul a voz de Davi e disse: Não é a tua voz, meu filho Davi? Respondeu Davi: Sim, a minha, ó rei, meu senhor.
18 And he said, Why does my lord pursue after his slave? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hand?
18 Disse mais: Por que persegue o meu senhor assim seu servo? Pois que fiz eu? E que maldade se acha nas minhas mãos?
19 Now therefore, I pray you, let my lord the king hear the words of his slave. If it is Yahweh who has stirred you up against me, let him accept an offering: but if it is the sons of man, cursed be they before Yahweh: for they have driven me out this day that I should not share in the inheritance of Yahweh, saying, Go, serve other gods.
19 Ouve, pois, agora, te rogo, ó rei, meu senhor, as palavras de teu servo: se é o Senhor que te incita contra mim, aceite ele a oferta de manjares; porém, se são os filhos dos homens, malditos sejam perante o Senhor ; pois eles me expulsaram hoje, para que eu não tenha parte na herança do Senhor , como que dizendo: Vai, serve a outros deuses.
20 Now therefore, don't let my blood fall to the earth away from the presence of Yahweh: for the king of Israel has come out to seek a flea, as when one hunts a partridge in the mountains.
20 Agora, pois, não se derrame o meu sangue longe desta terra do Senhor ; pois saiu o rei de Israel em busca de uma pulga, como quem persegue uma perdiz nos montes.
21 Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David; for I will do you harm no more, because my life was precious in your eyes this day: look, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.
21 Então, disse Saul: Pequei; volta, meu filho Davi, pois não tornarei a fazer-te mal; porque foi, hoje, preciosa a minha vida aos teus olhos. Eis que tenho procedido como louco e errado excessivamente.
22 And David answered and said, Look at the spear, O king! Let then one of the young men come over and fetch it.
22 Davi, então, respondeu e disse: Eis aqui a lança, ó rei; venha aqui um dos moços e leve-a.
23 And Yahweh will render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; since Yahweh delivered you into my hand today, and I would not put forth my hand against Yahweh's anointed.
23 Pague, porém, o Senhor a cada um a sua justiça e a sua lealdade; pois o Senhor te havia entregado, hoje, nas minhas mãos, porém eu não quis estendê-las contra o ungido do Senhor .
24 And, look, as your life was much set by this day in my eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of Yahweh, and let him deliver me out of all tribulation.
24 Assim como foi a tua vida, hoje, de muita estima aos meus olhos, assim também seja a minha aos olhos do Senhor , e ele me livre de toda tribulação.
25 Then Saul said to David, Blessed be you, my son David: you will both do mightily, and will surely prevail. So David went his way, and Saul returned to his place.
25 Então, Saul disse a Davi: Bendito sejas tu, meu filho Davi; pois grandes coisas farás e, de fato, prevalecerás. Então, Davi continuou o seu caminho, e Saul voltou para o seu lugar.
