1 Ǝnhəywăt, əbḍəwăt d-tăllăbăst a tămoos-dăɣ, əbḍəwăt d-amsud d-təlmənufăɣa d-əmmunšăɣ d-tiẓmit jer-iman-năwăn.
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 Alăhăt d-imărkăsăn s-hărkuk ărhan taḍəḍt, ənsəyăt kăwăneḍ-dăɣ axx wa wăr-inxes hărăt ămoos măjrăd n-Măssinăɣ i-ad-kăwăn-isəṣṣuhət, tədwəlăm dăɣ-immun, tăɣləsăm ed innă əlkəttab n-Măssinăɣ:
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 «Kăwăneḍ, tăkrăbbem tăẓude ta ija alkum i-Emăli.»
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 Ẓəẓẓihəẓăt-dd iman-năwăn Emăli ed iddar. Ǝnta a-s tăhunt ta n-aɣmăr lăt ălqim hakkăt ăṣṣahăt i-ehăn, unjăyăn săr-s dăgg-adəm măšan, ăsnăfrăn-tăt Măssinăɣ ed inhăy a-s ənta a tufăt.
4 — ausente —
5 Ămăra, kăwăneḍ-dăɣ, tămoosăm šund tihun əddarnen warnen tăhunt-ten-dăɣ, umasăt šund ehăn wa šăddijăn izzăɣ Măssinăɣ, tămoosăm šund kăl-tikutawen-net ăššiišdăj t-əkfanen iman-năsăn i-ad-tamašalăm erhet-net, ɣabbădăm-t dăɣ-idəm n-a-wa hawăn-ămoos Ɣisa Ălmasex. Ǝnta-den-dăɣ takute ta kăwăn-warăt i-ad-təkrəšăm idəm dat-Măssinăɣ.
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Dăɣ-isălan n-a-wen-dăɣ a dăɣ-innă əlkəttab, innă Măssinăɣ:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 Kăwăneḍ-i săr-s omănnen, ad-tətwăsəmɣărăm măšan ăddinăt wi has-ăsɣărnen ulhawăn-năsăn, iktab a-s:
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 Ătwănnʼ-anăɣ daɣ a-s:
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 Măšan kăwăneḍ-i n-imumənăn, ijʼ-iwăn Măssinăɣ tamətte ăsinăfrăn i-iman-net, tămoosăm ejhăn n-kăl-tikutawen făll-ăminakăl, əddəwəl šăddijăn, tamətte ăsidărfăt; ikkăs-kăwăn-dd Măssinăɣ iman-net dăɣ-tihay, ijʼ-iwăn dăɣ-ănnur-net wa ăhusken i-ad-tiimələm dat-ăddinăt təmɣăre d-tihusay n-ijităn-net.
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 Ibda, wăr hem tamətte-net măšan, ašăl-i, tămoosăm tamətte n-Măssinăɣ; ibda, wăr hem wi s-oḍăn tăhanint măšan ašăl-i, oḍăn-awăn-tăt.
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 Ayətma-ɣ-i əkneɣ tărha, imăjarăn d-iməhhujjaj a tămoosăm făll-ărori n-ăkall-wa-dăɣ; a-wen-dăɣ a făl, əttarăɣ dăɣ-wăn ad-təyyəm erk derhanăn wi n-ibda kăwăn-saknasnen d-tumast-năwăn ta tăynayăt.
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Ǝṭṭəfăt ălxal olaɣăn jer-inəẓẓulam i-ad-səbbuggətnăt tihusay n-tămudre-năwăn a-wa-dăɣ kăwăn-sawarăn uḍlem n-a-s erk ăddinăt a tămoosăm, afăl tamašalăm a-wa olăɣăn data-săn, ad-hasăn-umas a-wen ănnur i-ad-səmɣărăn Măssinăɣ ašăl wa hasăn-dd-e-infiləl.
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 Təssəba n-a-wen-dăɣ hawăn-iqqăl Emăli a făl mašălăt a-wa fălla-wăn irha əlxəkum iket-net, sărəsăt iman-năwăn dat-ămănokal n-ăkall ed ənta a ixkamăn făll-hărăt iket-net,
13 — ausente —
14 sărəsăt iman-năwăn dat-gəfăr wa ija ămănokal n-ăkall jənnəj-wăn ed ənta a t-ikfăn tărna ta s-iɣattăs ăššăreɣa, isawar uḍlem iməsdăɣwa, itiməl wi tamašalnen a-wa olăɣăn.
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 Erhet n-Măssinăɣ, itbat: mašălăt a-wa olăɣăn i-ad-səssusəmăm erk ăddinăt wi əžhălnen wăren əla tayətte.
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 Tidət-dăɣ a-s lam iman-năwăn măšan, wăr tăjjăt a-wen ăsaru i-ad-tamašalăm tăllăbăst, ănn-ak, a tăjjăm-dăɣ, ăjăt-t dăɣ-a-s kittəwăm a-s eklan n-Măssinăɣ a tămoosăm.
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 Səmɣărăt ăddinăt iket-năsăn, ărhăt ayətma-wăn dăɣ-ăddin, uksaḍăt Măssinăɣ, səmɣărăt ămănokal n-ăkall.
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 Eklan! Sărəsăt iman-năwăn dăɣ-tuksəḍa n-Măssinăɣ daw-məssaw-wăn, uksaḍăt, səmɣărăm wi dăɣ-săn olăɣnen, ăẓednen, hakd-dăɣ wi s-iẓẓəwăt ălxal-năsăn.
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 Irhuj-awăn afăl ălɣizabăt wa hannăyăm amišəl n-erhet n-Măssinăɣ a t-dd-orăwăn săr-wăn wădden ăḍḍărora.
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 Ǝndek isəm wa-ihăn əbbărəḍ dd-oraw ăḍḍărora? Wăr t-illa. Măšan, kunta ălɣizabăt-wa hannăyăm, tuksəḍa n-Măssinăɣ a săr-wăn-t-dd-orăwăn, adiš, irhuj-awăn ed a-wen-dăɣ a he-isiwəḍăn idəm-năwăn dat-Măssinăɣ.
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 Ălɣizabăt šund-wen-dăɣ a-s kăwăn-dd-iɣră Măssinăɣ ed Ălmasex ənta-dăɣ, inhăy ălɣizabăt, oyyʼ-awăn-dd s-a-wen-dăɣ ălmital i-ad-t-tăttălălăm.
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 «Ălmasex, wăr kăla ofa abăkkaḍ,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 ătwărbăḍ măšan, wăr-irbeḍ;
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 Ălmasex iman-net
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 făl-a-s ibda, kăla tămoosăm šund tihatten
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
