1 এরলাগি অইন্য মানষর খেতি করার হকল জাত কু-মতলব, ছল-চতুরি, ভন্ডামি, ইংসা, আর হকল জাত নিন্দার মাত-কথা তুমরার দিল থাকি হরাই দেও।
1 Deponde, pois, toda malícia, toda astúcia, fingimentos, invejas e toda espécie de maledicência.
2 গেদা হুরুতাইন্তর দুধর পিয়াছর লাখান তুমরা খাটি রুহানি দুধর খিয়ালি অও, আর অউ দুধ খাইয়া খাইয়া যানু তুমরা বড় অইয়া নাজাত পাও।
2 as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation,
3 মালিক ইছার মেহেরবানির মজা তো তুমরা পাইছোউ।
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord {is} good.
4 তে তুমরা তান গেছে আও। তাইনউ অইলা আগর নবী অকলর কওয়া হউ “জিন্দা পাথর”, যে পাথররে মানষে দাম দিছে না, অইলে আল্লার গেছে ইকটা মহা দামি আর পছন্দর পাথর।

5 আর তুমরা তান তরিকা কবুল করায়, তুমরারেও জিন্দা পাথরর লাখান আল্লা পাক রইবার পবিত্র কাবা ঘর বানানি অর। এরলাগি আল্লাই ইমাম ছাব হিসাবে তুমরারে আলাদা করি রাখা অইছে, যাতে তুমরা অউলা রুহানি কুরবানি দেও, যেতা ইছা আল-মসীর খাতিরে আল্লায় কবুল করইন।
5 yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 আল্লার কালামো আছে:
6 Because it is contained in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Zion a corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be put to shame.
7 আর তুমরা ইমান আনায়, তুমরার গেছে হউ পাথর মহা দামি অইগেছে। অইলে যেরা ইমান আনছে না, তারার বেলায় কিতাবর অউ কথাউ খাটে:
7 To you therefore who believe {is} the preciousness; but to the disobedient, the stone which the builders cast away as worthless, this is become head of {the} corner,
8 আর,
8 and a stone of stumbling and rock of offence; {who} stumble at the word, being disobedient to which also they have been appointed.
9 অইলে তুমরা তো ইলা নায়, তুমরা অইলায় আল্লার পছন্দ করা খান্দান, বাদশাই ইমামর দল, পবিত্র জাতি, তান আপন প্রজা। তাইন তুমরারে আন্দাইর থাকি নিজর নুরর ফরো দাওত করি আনছইন, তান গুনগান করার লাগি।
9 But *ye* {are} a chosen race, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye might set forth the excellencies of him who has called you out of darkness to his wonderful light;
10 আগে তো তুমরা আল্লার প্রজা আছলায় না, অইলে অখন অইছো। আগে তান মায়া-মহব্বতও পাইছো না, অখন পাইছো।
10 who once {were} not a people, but now God's people; who were not enjoying mercy, but now have found mercy.
11 ভাই অকল, ই দুনিয়াত তুমরা মুছাফির হিসাবে আমি তুমরারে মিনত করি কইরাম, তুমরা শরিলর বদ খাইশ থাকি বাচিয়া রও, ইতায় তো তুমরার রুহর বিপক্ষে যুদ্ধ করে।
11 Beloved, I exhort {you}, as strangers and sojourners, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 যেরা আল্লারে চিনে না, তারার মাজে তুমরা হক পথে চলো। তেউ তারা তুমরারে দুষি কইয়া নিন্দা করলেও, তুমরার হকল ভালা কাম দেখিয়া কিয়ামতর দিন আল্লার গৌরব করবো।
12 having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that {as to that} in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through {your} good works, {themselves} witnessing {them}, glorify God in {the} day of visitation.
13 তুমরা মালিক ইছার খাতিরে মানষর বানাইল শাসন-বেবস্থা মানিও। দেশর রাজারে মানিও, এইন তো দেশর পরধান।

14 তান মন্ত্রী আর হাকিমরে মানিও, অপরাধির সাজা আর ভালা জনরে পুরুস্কার দিবার লাগি তাইন এরারে রাখছইন।
14 or to rulers as sent by him, for vengeance on evildoers, and praise to them that do well.
15 আল্লার মুনশা অইলো, তুমরা ভালা কাম করিয়া বুড়বক মানষর বেকামা মাত-কথা বন্দ করো।
15 Because so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye put to silence the ignorance of senseless men;
16 তুমরা নিচ্চয় স্বাধীন, তা-ও নাফরমানিরে গুরিয়া রাখার লাগি ই স্বাধীনতা বেবহার করিও না। বরং নিজরে আল্লার গুলাম মনো করো।
16 as free, and not as having liberty as a cloak of malice, but as God's bondmen.
17 হকল মানষরে ইজ্জত করো, তুমরার ইমানদার ভাই অকলরে মহব্বত করো, আল্লারে ডরাও আর দেশর রাজারে ইজ্জত দেও।
17 Shew honour to all, love the brotherhood, fear God, honour the king.
18 আর বাড়ির গুলাম অকলরে কইরাম, তুমরা মুনিবরে ইজ্জত দেও আর তারার কথাত রও। যে মুনিব ভালা আর দয়ালু, খালি যেন তারার কথাত থাকতায়, ইলা কুন্তা নায়। অইলে যেরা কটু বেবহার করে, তারার কথাতও রও।
18 Servants, {be} subject with all fear to your masters, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the ill-tempered.
19 অলা কেউ যুদি খামোখা দুখ-কষ্ট পায় আর আল্লারে মনো রাখিয়া ইতা সইয্য করিলায়, তে পুরুস্কার পাইবো।
19 For this {is} acceptable, if one, for conscience sake towards God, endure griefs, suffering unjustly.
20 অবইশ্য অপরাধর লাগি মাইর খাইয়া তুমরা যুদি সইয্য করো, তে তারিফ করার কুন্তা আছে নি? অইলে ভালা কামর লাগি তুমরা যুদি কষ্ট পাইয়াও সইয্য করিলাও, তে ইতা আল্লার দরবারো তারিফর লাখ,
20 For what glory {is it}, if sinning and being buffeted ye shall bear {it}? but if, doing good and suffering, ye shall bear {it}, this is acceptable with God.
21 আল্লায় তুমরারে অতার লাগিউ দাওত দিছইন। আল-মসীয়েও কষ্ট সইয্য করিয়া নমুনা দেখাইছইন, তে তুমরাও তান পাওর তালে তালে চলো।
21 For to this have ye been called; for Christ also has suffered for you, leaving you a model that ye should follow in his steps:
22 তাইন কুনু গুনা করছইন না,
22 who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 মানষে তানরে গালি দিলেও, তাইন ফিরিয়া গালি দিছইন না। কষ্টর সময় এর বদলা লইবা কইয়া ডর-ভয়ও দেখাইছইন না, বরং যেইন হক বিচার করইন তান আতো নিজরে সপি দিছইন।
23 who, {when} reviled, reviled not again; {when} suffering, threatened not; but gave {himself} over into the hands of him who judges righteously;
24 তাইন নিজর শরিল দিয়া আমরার গুনার বোঝা বইছইন গাছর টুকরার সলিবো, যাতে গুনার বাবতে আমরা মরিয়া হারি, পাক-পরেজগারিয়ে জিন্দা রই। তান শরিলর কাটা-চিরায় তুমরার শিফা অইছে।
24 who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed.
25 আগে তো তুমরা বে-পথে যাওয়া মেড়ার লাখান আছলায়, অইলে যে রাখালে তুমরার দিলর দেখা-হুনা করইন, অখন তান গেছেউ ফিরিয়া আইছো।
25 For ye were going astray as sheep, but have now returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.
