¹ The heavens declare God’s glory, the sky tells what his hands have done.

¹ Os céus proclamam a glória de Deus, e o firmamento anuncia as obras das suas mãos.

² Day tells it to day, night reveals it to night,

² Um dia discursa a outro dia, e uma noite revela conhecimento a outra noite.

³ without speaking, without words; without the sound of voices.

³ Não há linguagem, nem há palavras, e deles não se ouve nenhum som.

⁴ But through all the world their voice carries their words to the ends of the earth. He has set in them a tent for the sun;

⁴ No entanto, por toda a terra se faz ouvir a sua voz, e as suas palavras chegam até os confins do mundo. Aí, pôs uma tenda para o sol,

⁵ like a bridegroom coming forth from his chamber it joyfully runs its course like a hero.

⁶ From one end of the heavens it rises, and round it runs to the other, and nothing hides from its heat.

⁷ The law of the Lord is perfect, renewing life. The decrees of the Lord are trusty, making simple ones wise.

⁷ A lei do Senhor é perfeita e restaura a alma; o testemunho do e dá sabedoria aos simples.

⁸ The behests of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart. The command of the Lord is pure, giving light to the eyes.

⁸ Os preceitos do Senhor são retos e alegram o coração; o mandamento do e ilumina os olhos.

⁹ The fear of the Lord is clean, it endures forever. The Lord’s judgments are true and right altogether.

⁹ O temor do Senhor é límpido e permanece para sempre; os juízos do e todos igualmente, justos.

¹⁰ More precious are they than gold --- than fine gold in plenty, and sweeter they are than honey, that drops from the comb.

¹⁰ São mais desejáveis do que ouro, mais do que muito ouro depurado; e são mais doces do que o mel e o destilar dos favos.

¹¹ By them is your servant warned; who keeps them has rich reward.

¹¹ Além disso, por eles se admoesta o teu servo; em os guardar há grande recompensa.

¹² Who can know their flaws? Absolve me from those who I know not.

¹² Quem há que possa discernir as suas próprias faltas? Absolve-me das que me são ocultas.

¹³ Keep your servant from wilful sins --- from falling under their sway: then blameless and clear will I be from great offense.

¹³ Também da soberba guarda o teu servo; que ela não me domine. Então serei irrepreensível e ficarei livre de grande transgressão.

¹⁴ May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing to you, Lord, my rock and redeemer.

¹⁴ As palavras dos meus lábios e o meditar do meu coração sejam agradáveis na tua presença, e redentor meu!
