1 But you speak the things which become sound doctrine:
1 Tu, porém, fala o que convém à sã doutrina.
2 aged men to be temperate, sensible, discreet, sound in faith, in love, in patience.
2 Os velhos, que sejam sóbrios, graves, prudentes, sãos na fé, no amor, e na paciência;
3 Let the aged women likewise be in reverent behavior, not slanderers, not enslaved by much wine, teachers of good;
3 As mulheres idosas, semelhantemente, que sejam sérias no seu viver, como convém a santas, não caluniadoras, não dadas a muito vinho, mestras no bem;
4 that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
4 Para que ensinem as mulheres novas a serem prudentes, a amarem seus maridos, a amarem seus filhos,
5 to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, that the Word of God may not be blasphemed.
5 A serem moderadas, castas, boas donas de casa, sujeitas a seus maridos, a fim de que a palavra de Deus não seja blasfemada.
6 Likewise exhort the young men to be discreet;
6 Exorta semelhantemente os jovens a que sejam moderados.
7 In all things having shown yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine, purity, sensibleness, without corruption,
7 Em tudo te dá por exemplo de boas obras; na doutrina mostra incorrupção, gravidade, sinceridade,
8 in sound speech that cannot be condemned, that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
8 Linguagem sã e irrepreensível, para que o adversário se envergonhe, não tendo nenhum mal que dizer de nós.
9 Slaves are to be obedient to their masters, to please them well in all things, not talking back,
9 Exorta os servos a que se sujeitem a seus senhores, e em tudo agradem, não contradizendo,
10 not stealing, but showing all good faith, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.
10 Não defraudando, antes mostrando toda a boa lealdade, para que em tudo sejam ornamento da doutrina de Deus, nosso Salvador.
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
11 Porque a graça salvadora de Deus se há manifestado a todos os homens,
12 teaching us that having denied ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live discreetly, righteously and godly, in this present world,
12 Ensinando-nos que, renunciando à impiedade e às concupiscências mundanas, vivamos neste presente século sóbria, e justa, e piamente,
13 looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearance of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
13 Aguardando a bem-aventurada esperança e o aparecimento da glória do grande Deus e nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo;
14 who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify to Himself a special people, zealous of good works.
14 O qual se deu a si mesmo por nós para nos remir de toda a iniqüidade, e purificar para si um povo seu especial, zeloso de boas obras.
15 Speak these things, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
15 Fala disto, e exorta e repreende com toda a autoridade. Ninguém te despreze.
