¹ To the Chief Musician. On Gittith, A Psalm of Asaph. Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob.

¹ Ao Músico-chefe, sobre Gitite, Salmo de Asafe. Cantai alto a Deus, nossa força; fazei um alegre barulho ao Deus de Jacó.

² Lift up a psalm, and bring the timbrel here, the pleasing lyre and harp.

² Tomai um salmo, e trazei junto o tamborim, a harpa agradável com o saltério.

³ Blow the ram's horn in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

³ Tocai a trombeta na lua nova, no tempo designado, em nosso solene dia de festa.

⁴ For this was a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

⁵ This He ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when He went out over the land of Egypt; I heard a language I understood not.

⁶ I removed his shoulder from the burden; his hands were delivered from the pots.

⁷ You called in trouble, and I delivered you; I answered you in the secret place of thunder; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

⁸ Hear, O My people, and I will testify to you; O Israel, if you will listen to Me,

⁸ Ouve, ó meu povo, e testemunharei a ti; ó Israel, se tu me ouvires.

⁹ there shall be no strange god in you; nor shall you worship any strange god.

⁹ Não haverá deus estranho em ti; nem tu adorarás nenhum deus estranho.

¹⁰ I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

¹⁰ Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te trouxe da terra do Egito; abre bem a tua boca, e eu a encherei.

¹¹ But My people would not listen to My voice, and Israel would have none of Me.

¹¹ Mas o meu povo não quis ouvir a minha voz, e Israel não quis nada de mim.

¹² So I gave them up to the stubbornness of their own hearts; and they walked in their own conceits.

¹² Então, eu os entreguei à luxúria dos seus próprios corações, e eles caminharam em seus próprios conselhos.

¹³ Oh that My people had listened to Me, and Israel had walked in My ways!

¹³ Oh, se meu povo tivesse me ouvido, e Israel tivesse andado em meus caminhos!

¹⁴ I would soon have humbled their enemies, and would have turned My hand against their foes.

¹⁵ The haters of the LORD would have been found liars to Him, and their time would have lasted forever.

¹⁵ Os que odeiam o SENHOR deveriam ter se submetido a ele; mas o seu tempo duraria para sempre.

¹⁶ And He would have fed them also with the finest of the wheat; and with honey out of the rock I would have satisfied you.
