1 After these things Jesus went over the Sea of Galilee, the Sea of Tiberias.
1 Algum tempo depois Jesus partiu para a outra margem do mar da Galiléia ( ou seja, do mar de Tiberíades ),
2 And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He did on the sick ones.
2 e grande multidão continuava a segui-lo, porque vira os sinais miraculosos que ele tinha realizado nos doentes.
3 And Jesus went up into a mountain and sat there with His disciples.
3 Então Jesus subiu ao monte e sentou-se com os seus discípulos.
4 And the Passover was near, a feast of the Jews.
4 Estava próxima a festa judaica da Páscoa.
5 Then Jesus lifted up His eyes and saw a great crowd come to Him. He said to Philip, Where shall we buy loaves so that these may eat?
5 Levantando os olhos e vendo uma grande multidão que se aproximava, Jesus disse a Filipe: "Onde compraremos pão para esse povo comer? "
6 And He said this to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
6 Fez essa pergunta apenas para pô-lo à prova, pois já tinha em mente o que ia fazer.
7 Philip answered Him, Loaves for two hundred denarii are not enough for them, that every one may take a little.
7 Filipe lhe respondeu: "Duzentos denários não comprariam pão suficiente para que cada um recebesse um pedaço! "
8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,
8 Outro discípulo, André, irmão de Simão Pedro, tomou a palavra:
9 There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are these among so many?
9 "Aqui está um rapaz com cinco pães de cevada e dois peixinhos, mas o que é isto para tanta gente? "
10 And Jesus said, Make the men recline. And there was much grass in the place. So the men reclined, about five thousand in number.
10 Disse Jesus: "Mandem o povo assentar-se". Havia muita grama naquele lugar, e todos se assentaram. Eram cerca de cinco mil homens.
11 And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who had reclined; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.
11 Então Jesus tomou os pães, deu graças e os repartiu entre os que estavam assentados, tanto quanto queriam; e fez o mesmo com os peixes.
12 And when they were filled, He said to His disciples, Gather up the fragments left over, so that nothing is lost.
12 Depois que todos receberam o suficiente para comer, disse aos seus discípulos: "Ajuntem os pedaços que sobraram. Que nada seja desperdiçado".
13 Therefore they gathered and filled twelve handbaskets with fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over to those who had eaten.
13 Então eles os ajuntaram e encheram doze cestos com os pedaços dos cinco pães de cevada deixados por aqueles que tinham comido.
14 Then seeing the miracle that Jesus did, those men said, This is truly the Prophet, the One coming into the world.
14 Depois de ver o sinal miraculoso que Jesus tinha realizado, o povo começou a dizer: "Sem dúvida este é o Profeta que devia vir ao mundo".
15 Therefore when Jesus perceived that they would come and take Him by force, that they might make Him a king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain alone by Himself.
15 Sabendo Jesus que pretendiam proclamá-lo rei à força, retirou-se novamente sozinho para o monte.
16 And when evening had come, the disciples went down to the sea
16 Ao anoitecer seus discípulos desceram para o mar,
17 and entered into a boat, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
17 entraram num barco e começaram a travessia para Cafarnaum. Já estava escuro, e Jesus ainda não tinha ido até onde eles estavam.
18 And the sea rose up because of a great wind that blew.
18 Soprava um vento forte, e as águas estavam agitadas.
19 Then having rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the ship. And they were afraid.
19 Depois de terem remado cerca de cinco ou seis quilômetros, viram Jesus aproximando-se do barco, andando sobre o mar, e ficaram aterrorizados.
20 But He said to them, I AM! Do not be afraid.
20 Mas ele lhes disse: "Sou eu! Não tenham medo! "
21 Then they willingly received Him into the boat. And immediately the ship was at the land where they were going.
21 Então se animaram a recebê-lo no barco, e logo chegaram à praia para a qual se dirigiam.
22 The following day, the crowd standing on the other side of the sea had seen that there was no other little boat there except that one into which His disciples had entered, and when they saw that Jesus did not go with His disciples into the little boat, but that His disciples had gone away alone,
22 No dia seguinte, a multidão que tinha ficado no outro lado do mar percebeu que apenas um barco estivera ali, e que Jesus não havia entrado nele com os seus discípulos, mas que eles tinham partido sozinhos.
23 (however, other boats from Tiberias came near the place where they ate the loaves, the Lord having given thanks),
23 Então alguns barcos de Tiberíades aproximaram-se do lugar onde o povo tinha comido o pão após o Senhor ter dado graças.
24 therefore, when the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves also entered into the boats and came to Capernaum seeking Jesus.
24 Quando a multidão percebeu que nem Jesus nem os discípulos estavam ali, entrou nos barcos e foi para Cafarnaum em busca de Jesus.
25 And when they had found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, Rabbi, when did you come here?
25 Quando o encontraram do outro lado do mar, perguntaram-lhe: "Mestre, quando chegaste aqui? "
26 Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, You seek Me not because you saw the miracles, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
26 Jesus respondeu: "A verdade é que vocês estão me procurando, não porque viram os sinais miraculosos, mas porque comeram os pães e ficaram satisfeitos.
27 Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for that food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of man will give you. For God the Father sealed Him.
27 Não trabalhem pela comida que se estraga, mas pela comida que permanece para a vida eterna, a qual o Filho do homem lhes dará. Deus, o Pai, nele colocou o seu selo de aprovação".
28 Then they said to Him, What shall we do that we might work the works of God?
28 Então lhe perguntaram: "O que precisamos fazer para realizar as obras que Deus requer? "
29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe on Him whom He has sent.
29 Jesus respondeu: "A obra de Deus é esta: crer naquele que ele enviou".
30 Therefore they said to Him, What sign do you show then, so that we may see and believe you? What do you work?
30 Então lhe perguntaram: "Que sinal miraculoso mostrarás para que o vejamos e creiamos em ti? Que farás?
31 Our fathers ate the manna in the desert, as it is written, "He gave them bread from Heaven to eat."
31 Os nossos antepassados comeram o maná no deserto; como está escrito: ‘Ele lhes deu a comer pão do céu’".
32 Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses did not give you that bread from Heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from Heaven.
32 Declarou-lhes Jesus: "Digo-lhes a verdade: Não foi Moisés quem lhes deu pão do céu, mas é meu Pai quem lhes dá o verdadeiro pão do céu.
33 For the bread of God is He who comes down from Heaven and gives life to the world.
33 Pois o pão de Deus é aquele que desceu do céu e dá vida ao mundo".
34 Then they said to him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
34 Disseram eles: "Senhor, dá-nos sempre desse pão! "
35 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes on Me shall never thirst.
35 Então Jesus declarou: "Eu sou o pão da vida. Aquele que vem a mim nunca terá fome; aquele que crê em mim nunca terá sede.
36 But I said to you that you also have seen Me and do not believe.
36 Mas, como eu lhes disse, vocês me viram, mas ainda não crêem.
37 All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will in no way cast out.
37 Todo o que o Pai me der virá a mim, e quem vier a mim eu jamais rejeitarei.
38 For I came down from Heaven, not to do My own will but the will of Him who sent Me.
38 Pois desci do céu, não para fazer a minha vontade, mas para fazer a vontade daquele que me enviou.
39 And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day.
39 E esta é a vontade daquele que me enviou: que eu não perca nenhum dos que ele me deu, mas os ressuscite no último dia.
40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes on Him should have everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day.
40 Porque a vontade de meu Pai é que todo o que olhar para o Filho e nele crer tenha a vida eterna, e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia".
41 Then the Jews murmured about Him, because He said, I am the bread which came down from Heaven.
41 Com isso os judeus começaram a criticar Jesus, porque dissera: "Eu sou o pão que desceu do céu".
42 And they said, Is this not Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How now does this One say, I have come down from Heaven?
42 E diziam: "Este não é Jesus, o filho de José? Não conhecemos seu pai e sua mãe? Como ele pode dizer: ‘Desci do céu’? "
43 Jesus therefore answered and said to them, Do not murmur with one another.
43 Respondeu Jesus: "Parem de fazer-me críticas.
44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who has sent Me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
44 Ninguém pode vir a mim, se o Pai, que me enviou, não o atrair; e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia.
45 It is written in the prophets, "And they shall all be taught of God." Therefore everyone who hears and learns from the Father comes to Me.
45 Está escrito nos Profetas: ‘Todos serão ensinados por Deus’. Todos os que ouvem o Pai e dele aprendem vêm a mim.
46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God, He has seen the Father.
46 Ninguém viu o Pai, a não ser aquele que vem de Deus; somente ele viu ao Pai.
47 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes on Me has everlasting life.
47 Asseguro-lhes que aquele que crê tem a vida eterna.
48 I am the Bread of life.
48 Eu sou o pão da vida.
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and died.
49 Os seus antepassados comeram o maná no deserto, mas morreram.
50 This is the Bread which comes down from Heaven, so that a man may eat of it and not die.
50 Todavia, aqui está o pão que desce do céu, para que não morra quem dele comer.
51 I am the Living Bread which came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he shall live forever. And truly the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
51 Eu sou o pão vivo que desceu do céu. Se alguém comer deste pão, viverá para sempre. Este pão é a minha carne, que eu darei pela vida do mundo".
52 Then the Jews argued with one another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
52 Então os judeus começaram a discutir exaltadamente entre si: "Como pode este homem nos oferecer a sua carne para comermos? "
53 Then Jesus says to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves.
53 Jesus lhes disse: "Eu lhes digo a verdade: Se vocês não comerem a carne do Filho do homem e não beberem o seu sangue, não terão vida em si mesmos.
54 Whoever partakes of My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
54 Todo o que come a minha carne e bebe o meu sangue tem a vida eterna, e eu o ressuscitarei no último dia.
55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.
55 Pois a minha carne é verdadeira comida e o meu sangue é verdadeira bebida.
56 He who partakes of My flesh and drinks My blood dwells in Me, and I in him.
56 Todo o que come a minha carne e bebe o meu sangue permanece em mim e eu nele.
57 As the living Father has sent Me, and I live through the Father, so he who partakes of Me, even he shall live by Me.
57 Da mesma forma como o Pai que vive me enviou e eu vivo por causa do Pai, assim aquele que se alimenta de mim viverá por minha causa.
58 This is the Bread which came down from Heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he who partakes of this Bread shall live forever.
58 Este é o pão que desceu do céu. Os antepassados de vocês comeram o maná e morreram, mas aquele que se alimenta deste pão viverá para sempre".
59 He said these things in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.
59 Ele disse isso quando ensinava na sinagoga de Cafarnaum.
60 Then when they had heard, many of His disciples said, This is a hard saying, who can hear it?
60 Ao ouvirem isso, muitos dos seus discípulos disseram: "Dura é essa palavra. Quem consegue ouvi-la? "
61 But knowing in Himself that His disciples murmured about it, Jesus said to them, Does this offend you?
61 Sabendo em seu íntimo que os seus discípulos estavam se queixando do que ouviram, Jesus lhes disse: "Isso os escandaliza?
62 Then what if you should see the Son of man going up where He was before?
62 Que acontecerá se vocês virem o Filho do homem subir para onde estava antes!
63 It is the Spirit that makes alive, the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit and are life.
63 O Espírito dá vida; a carne não produz nada que se aproveite. As palavras que eu lhes disse são espírito e vida.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who was to betray Him.
64 Contudo, há alguns de vocês que não crêem". Pois Jesus sabia desde o princípio quais deles não criam e quem o iria trair.
65 And He said, Because of this I said to you that no one can come to Me unless it was given to him from My Father.
65 E prosseguiu: "É por isso que eu lhes disse que ninguém pode vir a mim, a não ser que isto lhe seja dado pelo Pai".
66 From this time many of His disciples went back into the things behind, and walked no more with Him.
66 Daquela hora em diante, muitos dos seus discípulos voltaram atrás e deixaram de segui-lo.
67 Then Jesus said to the Twelve, Do you also wish to go away?
67 Jesus perguntou aos Doze: "Vocês também não querem ir? "
68 Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
68 Simão Pedro lhe respondeu: "Senhor, para quem iremos? Tu tens as palavras de vida eterna.
69 And we have believed and have known that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
69 Nós cremos e sabemos que és o Santo de Deus".
70 Jesus answered them, Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? And one of you is a devil?
70 Então Jesus respondeu: "Não fui eu que os escolhi, os Doze? Todavia, um de vocês é um diabo! "
71 But he spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon; for it was he who was about to betray Him, being one of the Twelve.
71 ( Ele se referia a Judas, filho de Simão Iscariotes, que, embora fosse um dos Doze, mais tarde haveria de traí-lo. )
