¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. O God, hear my voice in my complaint; guard my life from the terror of the enemy.

¹ Ouve, ó Deus, a minha voz na minha oração; guarda a minha vida do temor do inimigo.

² Hide me from the council of those who injure, from the tumult of evildoers,

² Esconde-me do secreto conselho dos maus, e do tumulto dos que praticam a iniqüidade.

³ who sharpen their tongue like a sword; they tread their arrows, a bitter word,

³ Que afiaram as suas línguas como espadas; e armaram por suas flechas palavras amargas,

⁴ so that they may shoot at the innocent from a lurking place; suddenly they shoot at him, and fear not.

⁴ A fim de atirarem em lugar oculto ao que é íntegro; disparam sobre ele repentinamente, e não temem.

⁵ They make themselves strong in an evil plan; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, Who shall see them?

⁵ Firmam-se em mau intento; falam de armar laços secretamente, e dizem: Quem os verá?

⁶ They search into injustice, saying , We have finished a well laid plan. Yea, the inward part of man and the heart are deep!

⁶ Andam inquirindo malícias, inquirem tudo o que se pode inquirir; e ambos, o íntimo pensamento de cada um deles, e o coração, são profundos.

⁷ But God shall shoot an arrow at them; their wounds shall suddenly appear.

⁷ Mas Deus atirará sobre eles uma seta, e de repente ficarão feridos.

⁸ So they shall be confounded; their tongue falls upon themselves; everyone seeing them shall flee.

⁸ Assim eles farão com que as suas línguas tropecem contra si mesmos; todos aqueles que os virem, fugirão.

⁹ And all men shall fear and shall declare the work of God; yea, they shall in wisdom consider His work.

⁹ E todos os homens temerão, e anunciarão a obra de Deus; e considerarão prudentemente os feitos dele.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice in Jehovah, and shall trust in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

¹⁰ O justo se alegrará no Senhor, e confiará nele, e todos os retos de coração se gloriarão.
