1 Therefore I exhort you, brothers, through the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.
1 Rogo-vos, pois, irmãos, pelas misericórdias de Deus, que apresenteis o vosso corpo por sacrifício vivo, santo e agradável a Deus, que é o vosso culto racional.
2 And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that you may approve what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.
2 E não vos conformeis com este século, mas transformai-vos pela renovação da vossa mente, para que experimenteis qual seja a boa, agradável e perfeita vontade de Deus.
3 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone who is among you not to think more highly of yourself than what one ought to think, but to think ⌞sensibly⌟, as God has apportioned a measure of faith to each one.
3 Porque, pela graça que me foi dada, digo a cada um dentre vós que não pense de si mesmo além do que convém; antes, pense com moderação, segundo a medida da fé que Deus repartiu a cada um.
4 For just as in one body we have many members, but all the members do not have the same function,
4 Porque assim como num só corpo temos muitos membros, mas nem todos os membros têm a mesma função,
5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ, and ⌞individually⌟ members of one another,
5 assim também nós, conquanto muitos, somos um só corpo em Cristo e membros uns dos outros,
6 but having different gifts according to the grace given to us: if it is prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;
6 tendo, porém, diferentes dons segundo a graça que nos foi dada: se profecia, seja segundo a proporção da fé;
7 if it is service, by service; if it is one who teaches, by teaching;
7 se ministério, dediquemo-nos ao ministério; ou o que ensina esmere-se no fazê-lo;
8 if it is one who exhorts, by exhortation; one who gives, with sincerity; one who leads, with diligence; one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
8 ou o que exorta faça-o com dedicação; o que contribui, com liberalidade; o que preside, com diligência; quem exerce misericórdia, com alegria.
9 Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; be attached to what is good,
9 O amor seja sem hipocrisia. Detestai o mal, apegando-vos ao bem.
10 being devoted to one another in brotherly love, esteeming one another more highly in honor,
10 Amai-vos cordialmente uns aos outros com amor fraternal, preferindo-vos em honra uns aos outros.
11 not lagging in diligence, being enthusiastic in spirit, serving the Lord,
11 No zelo, não sejais remissos; sede fervorosos de espírito, servindo ao Senhor;
12 rejoicing in hope, enduring in affliction, being devoted to prayer,
12 regozijai-vos na esperança, sede pacientes na tribulação, na oração, perseverantes;
13 contributing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality.
13 compartilhai as necessidades dos santos; praticai a hospitalidade;
14 Bless those who persecute, bless and do not curse them.
14 abençoai os que vos perseguem, abençoai e não amaldiçoeis.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.
15 Alegrai-vos com os que se alegram e chorai com os que choram.
16 Think the same thing toward one another; ⌞do not think arrogantly⌟, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise ⌞in your own sight⌟.
16 Tende o mesmo sentimento uns para com os outros; em lugar de serdes orgulhosos, condescendei com o que é humilde; não sejais sábios aos vossos próprios olhos.
17 Pay back no one evil for evil. Take thought for what is good in the sight of all people.
17 Não torneis a ninguém mal por mal; esforçai-vos por fazer o bem perante todos os homens;
18 If it is possible on your part, be at peace with all people.
18 se possível, quanto depender de vós, tende paz com todos os homens;
19 Do not take revenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.
19 não vos vingueis a vós mesmos, amados, mas dai lugar à ira; porque está escrito: A mim me pertence a vingança; eu é que retribuirei, diz o Senhor.
20 But “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by doing this, you will heap up coals of fire upon his head.”
20 Pelo contrário, se o teu inimigo tiver fome, dá-lhe de comer; se tiver sede, dá-lhe de beber; porque, fazendo isto, amontoarás brasas vivas sobre a sua cabeça.
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
21 Não te deixes vencer do mal, mas vence o mal com o bem.
