1 After Abimelech, Tola son of Puah son of Dod, a man of Issachar, rose up to deliver Israel; and he was living at Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.
1 Depois de Abimeleque, se levantou, para livrar Israel, Tola, filho de Puá, filho de Dodô, homem de Issacar; e habitava em Samir, na região montanhosa de Efraim.
2 And he judged Israel twenty-three years. And he died and was buried in Shamir.
2 Julgou a Israel vinte e três anos, e morreu, e foi sepultado em Samir.
3 After him Jair the Gileadite rose up, and he judged Israel twenty-two years.
3 Depois dele, se levantou Jair, gileadita, e julgou a Israel vinte e dois anos.
4 And he had thirty sons who would ride on thirty donkeys, and they had thirty towns that are in the land of Gilead that they called Havvoth Jair until this day.
4 Tinha este trinta filhos, que cavalgavam trinta jumentos; e tinham trinta cidades, a que chamavam Havote-Jair, até ao dia de hoje, as quais estão na terra de Gileade.
5 And Jair died and was buried in Kamon.
5 Morreu Jair e foi sepultado em Camom.
6 And again, the ⌞Israelites⌟ did evil in the eyes of Yahweh. They served the Baals, the Ashtaroth, the gods of Aram, Sidon, Moab, and the gods of the ⌞Ammonites⌟ and Philistines; they abandoned Yahweh and did not serve him.
6 Tornaram os filhos de Israel a fazer o que era mau perante o Senhor e serviram aos baalins, e a Astarote, e aos deuses da Síria, e aos de Sidom, de Moabe, dos filhos de Amom e dos filisteus; deixaram o Senhor e não o serviram.
7 And ⌞the anger of Yahweh burned⌟ against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and the ⌞Ammonites⌟.
7 Acendeu-se a ira do Senhor contra Israel, e entregou-os nas mãos dos filisteus e nas mãos dos filhos de Amom,
8 They crushed and oppressed the ⌞Israelites⌟ in that year; for eighteen years they crushed all the ⌞Israelites⌟ who were beyond the Jordan, in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
8 os quais, nesse mesmo ano, vexaram e oprimiram os filhos de Israel. Por dezoito anos, oprimiram a todos os filhos de Israel que estavam dalém do Jordão, na terra dos amorreus, que está em Gileade.
9 The ⌞Ammonites⌟ crossed the Jordan to fight also against Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim; and Israel was very distressed.
9 Os filhos de Amom passaram o Jordão para pelejar também contra Judá, e contra Benjamim, e contra a casa de Efraim, de maneira que Israel se viu muito angustiado.
10 Then the ⌞Israelites⌟ cried out to Yahweh, saying, “We have sinned against you; we have abandoned our God and served the Baals.”
10 Então, os filhos de Israel clamaram ao Senhor , dizendo: Contra ti havemos pecado, porque deixamos o nosso Deus e servimos aos baalins.
11 And Yahweh said to the ⌞Israelites⌟, “Did I not deliver you from the Egyptians, the Amorites, from the ⌞Ammonites⌟, and from the Philistines?
11 Porém o Senhor disse aos filhos de Israel: Quando os egípcios, e os amorreus, e os filhos de Amom, e os filisteus,
12 And when the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Maonites oppressed you, you cried out to me, and I delivered you from their hand.
12 e os sidônios, e os amalequitas, e os maonitas vos oprimiam, e vós clamáveis a mim, não vos livrei eu das suas mãos?
13 Yet you have abandoned me and served other gods. Therefore I will no longer deliver you.
13 Contudo, vós me deixastes a mim e servistes a outros deuses, pelo que não vos livrarei mais.
14 Go and cry out to the gods whom you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your trouble.”
14 Ide e clamai aos deuses que escolhestes; eles que vos livrem no tempo do vosso aperto.
15 And the ⌞Israelites⌟ said to Yahweh, “We have sinned; ⌞do to us accordingly as you see fit⌟; only please deliver us this day.”
15 Mas os filhos de Israel disseram ao Senhor : Temos pecado; faze-nos tudo quanto te parecer bem; porém livra-nos ainda esta vez, te rogamos.
16 So they removed the foreign gods from their midst and served Yahweh; and ⌞he could no longer bear⌟ the misery of Israel.
16 E tiraram os deuses alheios do meio de si e serviram ao Senhor ; então, já não pôde ele reter a sua compaixão por causa da desgraça de Israel.
17 And the ⌞Ammonites⌟ were summoned, and they camped in Gilead. And the ⌞Israelites⌟ gathered and camped at Mizpah.
17 Tendo sido convocados os filhos de Amom, acamparam-se em Gileade; mas os filhos de Israel se congregaram e se acamparam em Mispa.
18 The people, the ones commanding Gilead, ⌞said to each other⌟, “Who is the man that will begin to fight against the ⌞Ammonites⌟? He will be as head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
18 Então, o povo, aliás, os príncipes de Gileade, disseram uns aos outros: Quem será o homem que começará a pelejar contra os filhos de Amom? Será esse o cabeça de todos os moradores de Gileade.
