Ezequiel 33

1 And the word of Yahweh ⌞came⌟ to me, ⌞saying⌟,
1 Novamente, a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
2 “Son of man, speak to ⌞your people⌟, and you must say to them, ‘A land, if I bring over it a sword and the people of the land take a man, one from their number, and they appoint him for them as a watchman,
2 Filho do homem, fala aos filhos do teu povo, e dize-lhes: Quando eu trouxer a espada sobre a terra, se o povo da terra tomar um homem de suas costas, e o estabelecer por seu vigia;
3 and he sees the sword coming against the land, and he blows on the horn and he warns the people,
3 se quando ele vir que a espada vem sobre a terra, ele soprará a trombeta e avisará o povo.
4 and ⌞anyone who listens⌟ hears the sound of the horn and ⌞he does not take warning⌟ and the sword comes and it takes him, his blood will be on his own head.
4 Então, quem quer que ouvir o som da trombeta, e não considerar o aviso, se a espada vier e o tomar, seu sangue será sobre a sua própria cabeça.
5 For he heard the sound of the horn and he did not take warning; his blood will be on him. But if he took warning, he saved his life.
5 Ele ouviu o som da trombeta e não considerou o aviso; seu sangue será sobre ele; mas o que considerar o aviso livrará a sua alma.
6 And as for the watchman, if he sees the sword coming and ⌞he does not blow⌟ the horn, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and it takes ⌞their lives⌟, he will be taken through his guilt, but his blood from the hand of the watchman I will seek.’
6 Mas, se o vigia vir que vem a espada, e não soprar a trombeta, e o povo não for avisado, se a espada vier, e levar qualquer pessoa dentre eles, ele é levado em sua iniquidade; mas seu sangue eu requererei da mão do vigia.
7 “And you, son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; if you hear a word from my mouth, then you must warn them from me.
7 Então tu, ó filho do homem, te estabeleci vigia sobre a casa de Israel; portanto, tu ouvirás a palavra da minha boca, e lhes avisará de mim.
8 ⌞When I say⌟ to the wicked, ‘Wicked one, you will certainly die,’ and you ⌞did not speak⌟ to warn the wicked from his way, he, the wicked, will die by his guilt, but his blood I will seek from your hand.
8 Quando eu disser ao perverso: Ó homem perverso, tu certamente morrerás; se tu não falares, para avisar ao perverso do seu caminho, aquele homem perverso morrerá na sua iniquidade, mas o seu sangue eu o requererei da tua mão.
9 But, you, if you warn the wicked from his way, to turn from it, and ⌞he does not turn⌟ from his way, he will die by his guilt, and you will have saved your life.
9 Entretanto, se tu avisares ao perverso do seu caminho para que se desvie dele, se ele não se desviar do seu caminho, ele morrerá na sua iniquidade; mas tu livraste a tua alma.
10 “And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, ⌞saying⌟, ‘So you said, ⌞saying⌟, “Indeed, our transgressions and our sins are on us, and because of them we are rotting, and how can we live?” ’
10 Portanto, ó tu, filho do homem, fala à casa de Israel: Assim falais vós, dizendo: Se as nossas transgressões e os nossos pecados estiverem sobre nós, e nós nos consumirmos neles, como deveríamos então viver?
11 Say to them, ‘⌞As I live⌟,’ ⌞declares⌟ the Lord Yahweh, ‘⌞Surely I have no delight⌟ in the death of the wicked, ⌞except⌟ in the wicked returning from his way, and he lives. Turn back! Turn back from your ways, O evil ones, for why should you die, house of Israel?’
11 Dize-lhes: Como eu vivo, diz o Senhor DEUS, não tenho prazer na morte do perverso, mas em que o perverso se desvie de seu caminho e viva. Desviai-vos, desviai-vos dos vossos maus caminhos; pois, por que morrereis, ó casa de Israel?
12 “So you, son of man, say to ⌞your people⌟ that the righteousness of the righteous shall not save him in the day of his transgression, and the wickedness of the wicked ⌞will not cause him to stumble⌟ on the day of his returning from his wickedness; and the righteous will not be able to live by it on the day when he returns to his sin.
12 Portanto, tu, filho do homem, dize aos filhos do teu povo: A justiça do justo não o livrará no dia da sua transgressão; quanto à perversidade do perverso, não cairá assim no dia em que se desviar da sua perversidade; nem o justo será capaz de viver pela sua justiça no dia em que ele pecar.
13 When I say to the righteous, ‘Certainly he will live,’ and he trusted in his righteousness, and he turns and he does injustice, all of his righteousness will not be remembered, and because of his injustice that he did, because of it he will die.
13 Quando eu disser ao justo que ele certamente viverá, se ele confiar na sua própria justiça, e cometer iniquidade, todas as suas justiças não serão lembradas, mas por sua iniquidade que ele cometeu, morrerá por ela.
14 And when I say to the wicked, ‘Certainly you will die,’ but he returns from his sin and he does justice and righteousness—
14 Novamente, quando eu disser ao perverso: Tu certamente morrerás; se ele se desviar do seu pecado, e fizer aquilo que é lícito e certo;
15 for example, the wicked returns a pledge for a loan, he restores ⌞stolen property⌟, he goes in the statutes of life so as not to do injustice—certainly he will live; he will not die.
15 se o perverso restaurar o penhor, der novamente aquilo que havia roubado, andar nos estatutos da vida, sem cometer iniquidade, ele certamente viverá, não morrerá.
16 All of his ⌞sins that he committed⌟, they will not be remembered against him, and he did justice and righteousness; certainly he will live.
16 Nenhum de seus pecados que ele cometeu será mencionado a ele; ele fez aquilo que é lícito e certo, ele certamente viverá.
17 “Yet ⌞your people⌟ say, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair!’ yet their way is not fair.
17 Todavia, os filhos do teu povo dizem: O caminho do Senhor não é igual; mas para eles, seu caminho não é igual.
18 When the righteous turns from his righteousness and does injustice, then he will die ⌞because of it⌟.
18 Quando o justo se desviar das suas justiças, e cometer iniquidade, ele morrerá nela.
19 And when the wicked turns from his wickedness, and he does justice and righteousness, because of it ⌞he will certainly live⌟!
19 Mas se o perverso se desviar de sua perversidade, e fizer aquilo que é lícito e certo, ele viverá assim.
20 Yet you said, ‘The way of the Lord is not fair!’ I will judge you, house of Israel, each person according to his ways.”
20 Todavia, vós dizeis: O caminho do Senhor não é igual. Ó vós, casa de Israel, julgar-vos-ei a cada um segundo seus caminhos.
21 ⌞And then⌟ it was in ⌞the twelfth⌟ year, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month of our exile, a survivor from Jerusalem came to me, ⌞saying⌟, “The city was destroyed!”
21 E sucedeu que, no ano duodécimo do nosso cativeiro, no décimo mês, ao quinto dia do mês, um que havia escapado de Jerusalém veio a mim dizendo: A cidade está ferida.
22 And the hand of Yahweh was on me on the evening ⌞before⌟ the coming of the survivor, and he opened my mouth ⌞before the survivor came to me in the morning⌟, and my mouth was opened, and I was ⌞no longer⌟ dumb.
22 Agora, a mão do SENHOR estivera sobre à noite, antes que aquele que havia escapado viesse; e ele abrira a minha boca até que viesse a mim pela manhã; e abriu-se a minha boca, e não fiquei mais calado.
23 And the word of Yahweh ⌞came⌟ to me, ⌞saying⌟,
23 Então, a palavra do SENHOR veio a mim, dizendo:
24 “Son of man, the inhabitants of these ruins on the soil of Israel are saying, ‘Abraham was one man, and he took possession of the land, and we are many; the land has been given for us as a possession.’
24 Filho do homem, aqueles que habitam nos desertos da terra de Israel, falam dizendo: Abraão era um só, e herdou a terra; mas nós somos muitos, a terra nos é dada por herança.
25 Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “You eat blood in your meat, and you raise your eyes to your idols and you pour out blood, and yet you want to take possession of the land?
25 Portanto, dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Comeis com o sangue, e levantais os vossos olhos em direção aos seus ídolos, e derramais o sangue! E possuireis a terra?
26 You rely on your sword, you do a detestable thing, and ⌞each man defiles⌟ the wife of his neighbor, and yet you want to take possession of the land?” ’
26 Sobre a vossa espada vos permaneceis, maquinais abominação, e contaminais cada um a esposa de seu vizinho; e possuireis a terra?
27 “Thus you must say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “⌞As I live⌟, ⌞surely⌟ whoever is in the ruins, by the sword they will fall, and whoever is on the surface of the open field, I will give him to the animals to eat him, and whoever is in the stronghold and in the cave, they will die by the plague.
27 Dirás tu a eles: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Como eu vivo, certamente aqueles que estão nos desertos cairão à espada, e o que estiver em campo aberto eu o entregarei aos animais, para ser devorado, e aqueles que estiverem nos fortes e nas cavernas morrerão de peste.
28 And I will make the land a desolation and a wasteland, and the pride of its strength will come to an end, and the mountains of Israel will be desolate ⌞with no one traveling through them⌟.” ’
28 Porque eu deixarei a terra mais assolada, e a pompa da sua força cessará; e os montes de Israel ficarão assolados, que ninguém passará por eles.
29 And they will know that I am Yahweh when I make my land a desolation and a wasteland, because of all of their detestable things that they have done.
29 Então, eles saberão que eu sou o SENHOR, quando eu tiver deixado a terra mais assolada, por causa de todas suas abominações que cometeram.
30 “And you, son of man, ⌞your people⌟, the ones talking together concerning you beside the walls and in the doorways of the houses, each one with his brother ⌞saying⌟, ‘Please come and hear what is the word ⌞that is going out from Yahweh⌟.’
30 Também tu, ó filho do homem, os filhos do teu povo ainda estão falando contra ti junto às paredes e nas portas das casas; e fala um ao outro, cada um a seu irmão, dizendo: Vinde, eu vos suplico, e ouvi qual é a palavra que vem do SENHOR.
31 And they come to you ⌞as people do⌟, and they sit ⌞before you⌟, and my people hear your words, and they do not do them, for they are showing passion in their mouth, but their heart is going after ill-gotten gain.
31 E eles vêm a ti, como o povo vem, e se assentam diante de ti, como meu povo, e ouvem as tuas palavras, mas não as cumprirão; porque com sua boca mostram muito amor, mas o seu coração segue a sua cobiça.
32 Now, look! You are to them like ⌞a sensual song⌟, beautiful of voice and ⌞played well on an instrument⌟, and they hear your words, ⌞but they are not doing them⌟.
32 E, eis que tu és para eles como uma canção muito adorável, de quem tem uma voz agradável, e que sabe tocar bem um instrumento; porque ouvem as tuas palavras, mas não as cumprem.
33 So ⌞when it comes⌟, look! It is coming! And then they will know that a prophet was in the midst of them.”
33 E quando isto vier a passar (eis que virá), então eles saberão que um profeta esteve no meio deles.
