1 On my bed in the night, I sought him whom my ⌞heart⌟ loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.
1 Noites e noites, na minha cama, eu procurei o meu amado; procurei, porém não o encontrei.
2 Now I will arise, and I will go about in the city, in the streets and in the squares; I will seek him whom my ⌞heart⌟ loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.
2 Então me levantei e andei por toda a cidade, pelas ruas e pelas praças. Eu procurei o meu amado; procurei, mas não o pude achar.
3 The sentinels who go about in the city found me. “Have you seen the one whom my ⌞heart⌟ loves?”
3 Os guardas que patrulham a cidade me encontraram, e eu perguntei: “Vocês viram o meu amado?”
4 ⌞Scarcely had I passed⌟ by them when I found him whom my ⌞heart⌟ loves. I held him and I would not let him go until I brought him to the house of my mother, into the bedroom chamber of she who conceived me.
4 E, logo que saí de perto deles, eu o encontrei. Eu abracei o meu amado e não o deixei ir embora até que ele foi comigo à casa da minha mãe, ao quarto daquela que me deu à luz.
5 I adjure you, ⌞O maidens of Jerusalem⌟, by the gazelles or by the does of the field, do not arouse or awaken love until it pleases!
5 Mulheres de Jerusalém, prometam e jurem, pelas que vocês não vão perturbar o nosso amor. Ela
6 What is this coming up from the desert like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense from all the fragrant powders of the merchant?
6 O que é aquilo que vem subindo do deserto? Parece uma nuvem de fumaça de e de todo tipo de perfumes vendidos pelos mercadores.
7 Look! It is Solomon’s ⌞portable couch⌟! Sixty mighty men surround ⌞it⌟, the mighty men of Israel.
7 É a liteira do rei Salomão; sessenta soldados, os melhores de Israel, formam a sua guarda pessoal.
8 All of them ⌞wield swords⌟; they are ⌞trained in warfare⌟, each with his sword at his thigh to guard ⌞against terror⌟ in the night.
8 Todos eles sabem usar bem a espada e são treinados para a guerra. Cada um está armado com uma espada, por causa dos perigos da noite.
9 ⌞King Solomon⌟ made for himself a sedan chair from the wood of Lebanon.
9 A liteira que o rei Salomão mandou fazer era de madeira da melhor qualidade.
10 He made its column of silver, its back of gold, its seat of purple; its interior is inlaid with leather by ⌞the maidens of Jerusalem⌟.
10 As suas colunas eram cobertas de prata, e o seu teto era de tecido bordado a ouro. As suas almofadas, forradas de fino tecido vermelho, foram feitas com carinho pelas mulheres de Jerusalém.
11 Come out and look, ⌞O maidens of Zion⌟, at ⌞King Solomon⌟, at the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his wedding, on the day of the joy of his heart!
11 Mulheres de Sião , venham ver o rei! O rei Salomão está usando a coroa que recebeu da sua mãe no dia do seu casamento, naquele dia de tanta felicidade.
