1 Ask the LORD for rain in springtime;the LORD makes the storm clouds,and He will give everyone showers of rainand crops in the field.
1 Pedi ao SENHOR chuva no tempo da chuva serôdia, sim, ao SENHOR que faz relâmpagos; e lhes dará chuvas abundantes, e a cada um erva no campo.
2 For idols speak deceitand diviners see illusions;they tell false dreamsand offer empty comfort.Therefore the people wander like sheep,oppressed for lack of a shepherd.
2 Porque os ídolos têm falado vaidade, e os adivinhos têm visto mentira, e contam sonhos falsos; com vaidade consolam, por isso seguem o seu caminho como ovelhas; estão aflitos, porque não há pastor.
3 “My anger burns against the shepherds,and I will punish the leaders.For the LORD of Hosts attends to His flock,the house of Judah;He will make themlike His royal steed in battle.
3 Contra os pastores se acendeu a minha ira, e castigarei os bodes; mas o Senhor dos Exércitos visitará o seu rebanho, a casa de Judá, e os fará como o seu majestoso cavalo na peleja.
4 The cornerstone will come from Judah,the tent peg from him,as well as the battle bowand every ruler together.
4 Dele sairá a pedra de esquina, dele a estaca, dele o arco de guerra, dele juntamente sairá todo o opressor.
5 They will be like mighty men in battle,trampling the enemy in the mire of the streets.They will fight because the LORD is with them,and they will put the horsemen to shame.
5 E serão como poderosos que na batalha esmagam ao inimigo no lodo das ruas; porque o Senhor estará com eles; e confundirão os que andam montados em cavalos.
6 I will strengthen the house of Judahand save the house of Joseph.I will restore them because I have compassion on them,and they will be as though I had not rejected them.For I am the LORD their God,and I will answer them.
6 E fortalecerei a casa de Judá, e salvarei a casa de José, e fá-los- ei voltar, porque me compadeci deles; e serão como se eu não os tivera rejeitado, porque eu sou o Senhor seu Deus, e os ouvirei.
7 Ephraim will be like a mighty man,and their hearts will be glad as with wine.Their children will see it and be joyful;their hearts will rejoice in the LORD.
7 E os de Efraim serão como um poderoso, e o seu coração se alegrará como pelo vinho; e seus filhos o verão, e se alegrarão; o seu coração se regozijará no Senhor.
8 I will whistle for them to gather,for I have redeemed them;and they will be as numerousas they once were.
8 Eu lhes assobiarei, e os ajuntarei, porque eu os tenho remido; e multiplicar-se-ão como antes se tinham multiplicado.
9 Though I sow them among the nations,they will remember Me in distant lands;they and their childrenwill live and return.
9 Ainda que os espalhei por entre os povos, eles se lembrarão de mim em lugares remotos; e viverão com seus filhos, e voltarão.
10 I will bring them back from Egyptand gather them from Assyria.I will bring them to Gilead and Lebanonuntil no more room is found for them.
10 Porque eu os farei voltar da terra do Egito, e os congregarei da Assíria; e trá-los-ei à terra de Gileade e do Líbano, e não se achará lugar bastante para eles.
11 They will pass through the sea of distressand strike the waves of the sea;all the depths of the Nile will dry up.The pride of Assyria will be brought down,and the scepter of Egypt will depart.
11 E ele passará pelo mar com angústia, e ferirá as ondas no mar, e todas as profundezas do Nilo se secarão; então será derrubada a soberba da Assíria, e o cetro do Egito se retirará.
12 I will strengthen them in the LORD,and in His name they will walk,”declares the LORD.
12 E eu os fortalecerei no Senhor, e andarão no seu nome, diz o Senhor.
