¹ And having gone to the boat, he passed over, and came to his own city,

¹ Entrando num barco, Jesus passou para o outro lado do mar e foi para a sua própria cidade.

² and lo, they were bringing to him a paralytic, laid upon a couch, and Jesus having seen their faith, said to the paralytic, 'Be of good courage, child, your sins have been forgiven you.'

² E eis que lhe trouxeram um paralítico deitado num leito. Jesus, vendo a fé que eles tinham, disse ao paralítico:

³ And lo, certain of the scribes said within themselves, 'This one does speak evil.'

³ Mas alguns escribas diziam entre si: — Ele está blasfemando.

⁴ And Jesus, having known their thoughts, said, 'Why think you evil in your hearts?

⁴ Jesus, porém, conhecendo os pensamentos deles, disse:

⁵ For which is easier? To say, The sins have been forgiven to you; or to say, Rise, and walk?

⁵ Pois o que é mais fácil? Dizer: “Os seus pecados estão perdoados”, ou dizer: “Levante-se e ande”?

⁶ 'But, that you may know that the Son of Man has power upon the earth to forgive sins -- (then said he to the paralytic) -- having risen, take up your couch, and go to your house.'

⁶ Mas isto é para que vocês saibam que o Filho do Homem tem autoridade sobre a terra para perdoar pecados. Então disse ao paralítico:

⁷ And he, having risen, went to his house,

⁷ E o homem se levantou e voltou para casa.

⁸ and the multitudes having seen, wondered, and glorified God, who did give such power to men.

⁸ Vendo isto, as multidões, possuídas de temor, deram glória a Deus, que tinha dado tal autoridade aos homens.

⁹ And Jesus passing by from there, saw a man sitting at the tax-office, named Matthew, and said to him, 'Be following me,' and he, having risen, did follow him.

⁹ Quando Jesus saiu dali, viu um homem chamado Mateus sentado na coletoria e lhe disse: Ele se levantou e o seguiu.

¹⁰ And it came to pass, he reclining (at meat) in the house, that lo, many tax-gatherers and sinners having come, were lying (at meat) with Jesus and his disciples,

¹⁰ Estando Jesus à mesa, na casa de Mateus, muitos publicanos e pecadores vieram e tomaram lugares com Jesus e os seus discípulos.

¹¹ and the Pharisees having seen, said to his disciples, 'Why with the tax-gatherers and sinners does your teacher eat?'

¹¹ Vendo isto, os fariseus perguntavam aos discípulos de Jesus: — Por que o Mestre de vocês come com os publicanos e pecadores?

¹² And Jesus having heard, said to them, 'They who are whole have no need of a physician, but they who are ill;

¹² Mas Jesus, ouvindo, disse:

¹³ but having gone, learn you what is, Kindness I will, and not sacrifice, for I did not come to call righteous men, but sinners, to reformation.'

¹³ Vão e aprendam o que significa: “Quero misericórdia, e não sacrifício.” Pois não vim chamar justos, e sim pecadores.

¹⁴ Then come to him do the disciples of John, saying, 'Why do we and the Pharisees fast much, and your disciples fast not?'

¹⁴ Vieram, depois, os discípulos de João e perguntaram a Jesus: — Por que nós e os fariseus jejuamos muitas vezes, mas os seus discípulos não jejuam?

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, 'Can the sons of the bride-chamber mourn, so long as the bridegroom is with them? But days shall come when the bridegroom may be taken from them, and then they shall fast.

¹⁵ Jesus respondeu:

¹⁶ 'And no one does put a patch of undressed cloth on an old garment, for its filling up does take from the garment, and a worse rent is made.

¹⁶ Ninguém põe remendo de pano novo em roupa velha; porque o remendo tira um pedaço da roupa, e o buraco fica ainda maior.

¹⁷ 'Nor do they put new wine into old skins, and if not -- the skins burst, and the wine does run out, and the skins are destroyed, but they put new wine into new skins, and both are preserved together.'

¹⁷ Nem se põe vinho novo em odres velhos, porque, se alguém fizer isso, os odres se rompem, o vinho se derrama, e os odres se perdem. Mas põe-se vinho novo em odres novos, e ambos se conservam.

¹⁸ While he is speaking these things to them, lo, a ruler having come, was bowing to him, saying that 'My daughter just now died, but, having come, lay your hand upon her, and she shall live.'

¹⁸ Enquanto Jesus lhes dizia estas coisas, eis que um chefe da sinagoga, aproximando-se, o adorou e disse: — Minha filha morreu agora mesmo; mas venha impor a mão sobre ela, e ela viverá.

¹⁹ And Jesus having risen, did follow him, also his disciples,

¹⁹ E Jesus se levantou e o seguiu, juntamente com os seus discípulos.

²⁰ and lo, a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, having come to him behind, did touch the fringe of his garments,

²⁰ E eis que uma mulher, que durante doze anos vinha sofrendo de uma hemorragia, veio por trás de Jesus e tocou na borda da capa dele.

²¹ for she said within herself, 'If only I may touch his garment, I shall be saved.'

²¹ Porque dizia consigo mesma: “Se eu apenas tocar na capa dele, ficarei curada.”

²² And Jesus having turned about, and having seen her, said, 'Be of good courage, daughter, your faith has saved you,' and the woman was saved from that hour.

²² Então Jesus, voltando-se e vendo-a, disse: E, desde aquele instante, a mulher ficou sã.

²³ And Jesus having come to the house of the ruler, and having seen the minstrels and the multitude making tumult,

²³ Tendo Jesus chegado à casa do chefe e vendo os tocadores de flauta e o povo em alvoroço, disse:

²⁴ he said to them, 'Withdraw, for the damsel did not die, but does sleep,' and they were deriding him;

²⁴ — Saiam daqui! Porque a menina não está morta, mas dorme. E riam-se dele.

²⁵ but, when the multitude was put forth, having gone in, he took hold of her hand, and the damsel arose,

²⁵ Mas, quando o povo tinha sido colocado para fora, Jesus entrou, tomou a menina pela mão, e ela se levantou.

²⁶ and the fame of this went forth to all the land.

²⁶ E a notícia deste acontecimento se espalhou por toda aquela terra.

²⁷ And Jesus passing on from there, two blind men followed him, calling and saying, 'Deal kindly with us, Son of David.'

²⁷ Saindo Jesus dali, dois cegos o seguiram, gritando: — Tenha compaixão de nós, Filho de Davi!

²⁸ And he having come to the house, the blind men came to him, and Jesus said to them, 'Believe you that I am able to do this?' They say to him, 'Yes, sir.'

²⁸ Quando ele entrou em casa, os cegos se aproximaram, e Jesus lhes perguntou: Eles responderam: — Sim, Senhor!

²⁹ Then touched he their eyes, saying, 'According to your faith let it be to you,'

²⁹ Então Jesus tocou nos olhos deles, dizendo:

³⁰ and their eyes were opened, and Jesus strictly charged them, saying, 'See, let no one know;'

³⁰ E os olhos deles se abriram. Jesus, porém, os advertiu severamente, dizendo:

³¹ but they, having gone forth, did spread his fame in all that land.

³¹ Eles, porém, saíram e espalharam a notícia a respeito de Jesus por toda aquela terra.

³² And as they are coming forth, lo, they brought to him a man dumb, a demoniac,

³² Quando eles saíram, eis que trouxeram a Jesus um mudo endemoniado.

³³ and the demon having been cast out, the dumb spoke, and the multitude did wonder, saying that 'It was never so seen in Israel:'

³³ E, assim que o demônio foi expulso, o mudo passou a falar. E as multidões se admiravam, dizendo: — Jamais se viu tal coisa em Israel!

³⁴ but the Pharisees said, 'By the ruler of the demons he does cast out the demons.'

³⁴ Mas os fariseus diziam: — Ele expulsa os demônios pelo poder do maioral dos demônios.

³⁵ And Jesus was going up and down all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the good news of the reign, and healing every sickness and every malady among the people.

³⁵ E Jesus percorria todas as cidades e aldeias, ensinando nas sinagogas, pregando o evangelho do Reino e curando todo tipo de doenças e enfermidades.

³⁶ And having seen the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, that they were faint and cast aside, as sheep not having a shepherd,

³⁶ Ao ver as multidões, Jesus se compadeceu delas, porque estavam aflitas e exaustas como ovelhas que não têm pastor.

³⁷ then said he to his disciples, 'The harvest indeedis abundant, but the workmen few;

³⁷ Então Jesus disse aos seus discípulos:

³⁸ beseech you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he may put forth workmen to His harvest.'

³⁸ Por isso, peçam ao Senhor da seara que mande trabalhadores para a sua seara.
