1 Jesus, therefore, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where was Lazarus, who had died, whom he raised out of the dead;
1 Seis dias antes da Páscoa, veio Jesus a Betânia, onde estava Lázaro, o que estivera morto, e a quem ele ressuscitara dos mortos.
2 they made, therefore, to him a supper there, and Martha was ministering, and Lazarus was one of those reclining together (at meat) with him;
2 Fizeram-lhe ali uma ceia, e Marta servia, mas Lázaro era um dos que estavam à mesa com ele.
3 Mary, therefore, having taken a pound of ointment of spikenard, of great price, anointed the feet of Jesus and did wipe with her hair his feet, and the house was filled from the fragrance of the ointment.
3 Então, Maria, tomando uma libra de unguento de nardo puro, caríssimo, ungiu os pés de Jesus, e limpou os pés com os seus cabelos; e a casa se encheu com o cheiro do unguento.
4 Therefore said one of his disciples -- Judas Iscariot, of Simon, who is about to deliver him up --
4 Então, disse um dos seus discípulos, Judas Iscariotes, filho de Simão, aquele que o havia de trair:
5 'Therefore was not this ointment sold for three hundred denaries, and given to the poor?'
5 Por que não se vendeu este unguento por trezentos denários, e não se deu aos pobres?
6 and he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and what things were put in he was carrying.
6 Então ele disse isso não pelo cuidado que tivesse dos pobres, mas porque era ladrão, e tinha a bolsa, e subtraía o que nela foi colocado.
7 Jesus, therefore, said, 'Suffer her; for the day of my embalming she has kept it,
7 Disse, pois, Jesus: Deixe-a sozinha! Para o dia do meu sepultamento o tem guardado.
8 for the poor you have always with yourselves, and me you have not always.'
8 Porque os pobres sempre os tendes convosco, mas a mim nem sempre me tendes.
9 A great multitude, therefore, of the Jews knew that he is there, and they came, not because of Jesus only, but that Lazarus also they may see, whom he raised out of the dead;
9 Portanto, muita gente dos judeus soube que ele estava ali; e eles foram, não só por causa de Jesus, mas também para ver a Lázaro, a quem ele ressuscitara dos mortos.
10 and the chief priests took counsel, that also Lazarus they may kill,
10 Mas os principais sacerdotes consultaram como poderiam também matar a Lázaro,
11 because on account of him many of the Jews were going away, and were believing in Jesus.
11 porque por causa dele muitos dos judeus se afastaram, e creram em Jesus.
12 On the morrow, a great multitude that came to the feast, having heard that Jesus does come to Jerusalem,
12 No dia seguinte, a grande multidão que tinha vindo à festa, ouvindo dizer que Jesus vinha a Jerusalém,
13 took the branches of the palms, and went forth to meet him, and were crying, 'Hosanna, blessed is he who is coming in the name of the Lord -- the king of Israel;'
13 tomaram ramos de palmeiras, e saíram-lhe ao encontro, e clamavam: Hosana! Abençoado é o Rei de Israel que vem em nome do Senhor.
14 and Jesus having found a young ass did sit upon it, according as it is written,
14 E Jesus, tendo encontrado um jumentinho, assentou-se sobre ele, como está escrito:
15 'Fear not, daughter of Sion, lo, your king does come, sitting on an ass' colt.'
15 Não temas, filha de Sião; eis que o teu Rei vem, assentado sobre um potro de jumenta.
16 And these things his disciples did not know at the first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were having been written about him, and these things they did to him.
16 Os seus discípulos, porém, a princípio não entenderam essas coisas; mas, quando Jesus foi glorificado, então eles se lembraram de que estas coisas estavam escritas a respeito dele, e que eles tinham feito essas coisas para ele.
17 The multitude, therefore, who are with him, were testifying that he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and did raise him out of the dead;
17 A multidão, pois, que estava com ele quando chamou a Lázaro para fora da sepultura, testemunhava que ele o ressuscitara dos mortos.
18 because of this also did the multitude meet him, because they heard of his having done this sign,
18 Por causa disso, também a multidão lhe saiu ao encontro, porque eles tinham ouvido que ele fizera este milagre.
19 the Pharisees, therefore, said among themselves, 'You see that you do not gain anything, lo, the world did go after him.'
19 Disseram, então, os fariseus entre si: Percebestes que nada conseguis fazer? Eis que o mundo vai após ele.
20 And there were certain Greeks out of those coming up that they may worship in the feast,
20 E havia alguns gregos entre os que tinham subido para adorar na festa;
21 these then came near to Philip, who is from Bethsaida of Galilee, and were asking him, saying, 'Sir, we wish to see Jesus;'
21 estes, pois, vieram a Filipe, que era de Betsaida da Galileia, e rogaram-lhe, dizendo: Senhor, queríamos ver a Jesus.
22 Philip comes and tells Andrew, and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
22 Filipe veio e contou para André; e novamente André e Filipe disseram a Jesus.
23 And Jesus responded to them, saying, 'The hour has come that the Son of Man may be glorified;
23 E Jesus lhes respondeu, dizendo: É chegada a hora em que o Filho do homem será glorificado.
24 verily, verily, I say to you, if the grain of the wheat, having fallen to the earth, may not die, itself remains alone; and if it may die, it does bear much fruit;
24 Na verdade, na verdade eu vos digo: Se o grão de trigo, caindo na terra, não morrer, permanece só; mas, se morrer, dá muito fruto.
25 he who is loving his life shall lose it, and he who is hating his life in this world -- to life age-during shall keep it;
25 Quem ama a sua vida perdê-la-á, e quem neste mundo odeia a sua vida, guardá-la-á para a vida eterna.
26 if any one may minister to me, let him follow me, and where I am, there also my ministrant shall be; and if any one may minister to me -- honour him will the Father.
26 Se algum homem me serve, siga-me; e onde eu estiver, ali estará também o meu servo; se algum homem me servir, meu Pai o honrará.
27 'Now has my soul been troubled, and what? shall I say -- Father, save me from this hour? -- but because of this I came to this hour;
27 Agora a minha alma está perturbada; e que direi eu? Pai, salva-me desta hora; mas para esta hora é que eu vim.
28 Father, glorify Your name.' There came, therefore, a voice out of the heaven, 'I both glorified, and again I will glorify it;'
28 Pai, glorifica o teu nome. Então, veio uma voz do céu, dizendo: Eu já o tenho glorificado, e novamente o glorificarei.
29 the multitude, therefore, having stood and heard, were saying that there has been thunder; others said, 'A messenger has spoken to him.'
29 A multidão, pois, que ali estava e que a ouvira, dizia ter sido um trovão; outros diziam: Um anjo lhe falou.
30 Jesus answered and said, 'Not because of me has this voice come, but because of you;
30 Jesus respondeu e disse: Não veio esta voz por minha causa, mas por causa de vós.
31 now is a judgment of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast forth;
31 Agora é o juízo deste mundo; agora será expulso o príncipe deste mundo.
32 and I, if I may be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.'
32 E eu, quando for levantado da terra, todos os homens atrairei a mim.
33 And this he said signifying by what death he was about to die;
33 E dizia isto, significando de que morte ele deveria morrer.
34 the multitude answered him, 'We heard out of the law that the Christ does remain -- to the age; and how do you say, That it behooves the Son of Man to be lifted up? who is this -- the Son of Man?'
34 Respondeu-lhe a multidão: Nós temos ouvido da lei que o Cristo permanece para sempre; e como dizes tu: É necessário que o Filho do homem seja levantado? Quem é esse Filho do homem?
35 Jesus, therefore, said to them, 'Yet a little time is the light with you; walk while you have the light, that darkness may not overtake you; and he who is walking in the darkness has not known where he goes;
35 Então, Jesus disse-lhes: Ainda por um pouco de tempo a luz está convosco. Andai enquanto tendes luz, para que as trevas não venham sobre vós, pois quem anda nas trevas não sabe para onde vai.
36 while you have the light, believe in the light, that sons of light you may become.' These things spake Jesus, and having gone away, he was hid from them,
36 Enquanto tendes luz, crede na luz, para que sejais filhos da luz. Essas coisas disse Jesus e retirou-se, escondendo-se deles.
37 yet he having done so many signs before them, they were not believing in him,
37 Mas, apesar de ter feito tantos milagres diante deles, não criam nele;
38 that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said, 'Lord, who gave credence to our report? and the arm of the Lord -- to whom was it revealed?'
38 para que se cumprisse a palavra do profeta Isaías, que diz: Senhor, quem tem acreditado em nosso relato? E a quem foi revelado o braço do Senhor?
39 Because of this they were not able to believe, that again Isaiah said,
39 Por isso, eles não podiam crer, pelo que Isaías disse outra vez:
40 'He has blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart, that they might not see with the eyes, and understand with the heart, and turn back, and I might heal them;'
40 Ele cegou-lhes os olhos, e endureceu-lhes o coração, para que eles não vejam com seus olhos, nem compreendam no seu coração, e se convertam, e eu os cure.
41 these things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
41 Essas coisas disse Isaías quando ele viu a sua glória, e dele falou.
42 Still, however, also out of the rulers did many believe in him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing, that they might not be put out of the synagogue,
42 Contudo, muitos dentre os principais governantes creram nele; mas por causa dos fariseus não o confessavam, para não serem colocados para fora da sinagoga;
43 for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God.
43 porque eles amavam mais a glória dos homens do que a glória de Deus.
44 And Jesus cried and said, 'He who is believing in me, does not believe in me, but in Him who sent me;
44 Jesus clamou e disse: Quem crê em mim, crê, não em mim, mas naquele que me enviou.
45 and he who is beholding me, does behold Him who sent me;
45 E quem me vê, vê aquele que me enviou.
46 I a light to the world have come, that every one who is believing in me -- in the darkness may not remain;
46 Eu vim como luz para o mundo, para que todo aquele que crê em mim não permaneça nas trevas.
47 and if any one may hear my sayings, and not believe, I -- I do not judge him, for I came not that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world.
47 E se algum homem ouvir as minhas palavras, e não crer, eu não o julgo; porque eu não vim para julgar o mundo, mas para salvar o mundo.
48 'He who is rejecting me, and not receiving my sayings, has one who is judging him, the word that I spake, that will judge him in the last day,
48 Quem me rejeitar, e não receber as minhas palavras, já tem quem o julgue; a palavra que eu tenho falado, essa o julgará no último dia.
49 because I spake not from myself, but the Father who sent me, He did give me a command, what I may say, and what I may speak,
49 Porque eu não tenho falado de mim mesmo, mas o Pai, que me enviou, ele me deu um mandamento quanto ao que dizer e como falar.
50 and I have known that His command is life age-during; what, therefore, I speak, according as the Father has said to me, so I speak.'
50 E sei que o seu mandamento é vida eterna; portanto, as coisas que eu digo, conforme me disse o Pai, assim eu digo.
