¹ I do fully testify, then, before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is about to judge living and dead at his manifestation and his reign --

¹ Conjuro-te, pois, diante de Deus e do Senhor Jesus Cristo, que há de julgar os vivos e os mortos, na sua aparição e no seu reino;

² preach the word; be earnest in season, out of season, convict, rebuke, exhort, in all long-suffering and teaching,

² que pregues a palavra, instes a tempo e fora de tempo, reprove, repreendas, exortes com toda longanimidade e doutrina.

³ for there shall be a season when the sound teaching they will not suffer, but according to their own desires to themselves they shall heap up teachers -- itching in the hearing,

³ Porque virá tempo em que não suportarão a sã doutrina; mas, conforme as suas próprias concupiscências, amontoarão para si mestres, tendo comichão nos ouvidos;

⁴ and indeed, from the truth the hearing they shall turn away, and to the fables they shall be turned aside.

⁴ e desviarão os seus ouvidos da verdade, voltando às fábulas.

⁵ And you -- watch in all things; suffer evil; do the work of one proclaiming good news; of your ministration make full assurance,

⁵ Tu, porém, vigiai em todas as coisas; sofre as aflições, faze a obra de um evangelista, faz plena demonstração do teu ministério.

⁶ for I am already being poured out, and the time of my release has arrived;

⁶ Porque já estou pronto para ser oferecido, e o tempo da minha partida está próximo.

⁷ the good strife I have striven, the course I have finished, the faith I have kept,

⁷ Combati o bom combate, terminei a minha carreira, guardei a fé.

⁸ henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of the righteousness that the Lord -- the Righteous Judge -- shall give to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to all those loving his manifestation.

⁸ Desde agora, a coroa de justiça me está guardada, a qual o Senhor, o justo juiz, me dará naquele dia; e não somente a mim, mas também a todos os que amam a sua aparição.

⁹ Be diligent to come unto me quickly,

⁹ Procura vir ter comigo depressa.

¹⁰ for Demas forsook me, having loved the present age, and went on to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia,

¹¹ Lukas only is with me; Markus having taken, bring with yourself, for he is profitable to me for ministration

¹⁴ Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil harm; may the Lord repay to him according to his works,

¹⁵ of whom also do you beware, for greatly has he stood against our words;

¹⁵ Tu, guarda-te também dele, porque ele resistiu muito às nossas palavras.

¹⁶ in my first defence no one stood with me, but all forsook me, (may it not be reckoned to them!)

¹⁶ Na minha primeira defesa, ninguém estava comigo; antes, todos me desampararam. Oro a Deus que isto lhes não seja imputado.

¹⁷ and the Lord stood by me, and did strengthen me, that through me the preaching might be fully assured, and all the nations might hear, and I was freed out of the mouth of a lion,

¹⁷ Mas o Senhor estava comigo e fortaleceu-me, para que, através de mim, a pregação fosse totalmente conhecida e todos os gentios a ouvissem; e fui salvo da boca do leão.

¹⁸ and the Lord shall free me from every evil work, and shall save me -- to his heavenly kingdom; to whom is the glory to the ages of the ages! Amen.

¹⁸ E o Senhor me livrará de toda má obra e me preservará para o seu reino celestial; a quem seja glória para todo o sempre. Amém.

¹⁹ Salute Prisca and Aquilas, and Onesiphorus' household;

²⁰ Erastus did remain in Corinth, and Trophimus I left in Miletus sick;
