1 To the chief Musician upon Jonathelemrechokim, Michtam of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath. Be merciful to me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.
1 Ó Deus, tem misericórdia de mim, pois sofro perseguição; meus inimigos me atacam o dia todo.
2 My enemies would daily swallow me up: for they are many that fight against me, O thou most High.
2 Vivo perseguido por aqueles que me caluniam, e muitos me atacam abertamente.
3 When I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
3 Quando eu tiver medo, porém, confiarei em ti.
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do to me.
4 Louvo a Deus por suas promessas, confio em Deus e não temerei; o que me podem fazer os simples mortais?
5 Every day they pervert my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.
5 Sempre distorcem o que digo e passam dias tramando me prejudicar.
6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
6 Reúnem-se para me espionar e vigiam meus passos, ansiosos para me matar.
7 Shall they escape by iniquity? in thy anger cast down the people, O God.
7 Castiga-os por sua maldade; ó Deus, derruba-os em tua ira.
8 Thou numberest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?
8 Conheces bem todas as minhas angústias; recolheste minhas lágrimas num jarro e em teu livro registraste cada uma delas.
9 When I cry to thee, then shall my enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.
9 Meus inimigos baterão em retirada quando eu clamar a ti; uma coisa sei: Deus está do meu lado!
10 In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
10 Louvo a Deus por suas promessas, sim, louvo o S
11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do to me.
11 Confio em Deus e não temerei; o que me podem fazer os simples mortais?
12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises to thee.
12 Cumprirei os votos que fiz a ti, ó Deus, e te oferecerei um sacrifício de gratidão.
13 For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt thou not deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
13 Pois me livraste da morte; não deixaste que meus pés tropeçassem. Agora, posso andar em tua presença, ó Deus, em tua luz que dá vida.
