1 BOOK THE FIRST How happy the man, who hath not walked in the counsel of the lawless,and, in the way of sinners, hath not stood, and, in the seat of scoffers, hath not sat;
1 Feliz o homem que não procede conforme o conselho dos ímpios, não trilha o caminho dos pecadores, nem se assenta entre os escarnecedores.
2 But, in the law of Yahweh, is his delight,and, in his law, doth he talk with himself day and night.
2 Feliz aquele que se compraz no serviço do Senhor e medita sua lei dia e noite.
3 So doth he become like a tree planted by streams of waters,that yieldeth, its fruit, in its season, whose leaf, also doth not wither, and, whatsoever he doeth, prospereth.
3 Ele é como a árvore plantada na margem das águas correntes: dá fruto na época própria, sua folhagem não murchará jamais. Tudo o que empreende, prospera.
4 Not so, the lawless,but as chaff which is driven about by the wind:
4 Os ímpios não são assim! Mas são como a palha que o vento leva.
5 For this cause, shall the lawless not stand in the judgment,nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
5 Por isso não suportarão o juízo, nem permanecerão os pecadores na assembléia dos justos.
6 For Yahweh doth acknowledge the way of the righteous; but, the way of the lawless, shall vanish.
6 Porque o Senhor vela pelo caminho dos justos, ao passo que o dos ímpios leva à perdição.
