1 BOOK THE FIRST How happy the man, who hath not walked in the counsel of the lawless,and, in the way of sinners, hath not stood, and, in the seat of scoffers, hath not sat;
1 Abençoado é o homem que não anda no conselho do ímpio, nem fica no caminho dos pecadores, nem assenta na cadeira dos escarnecedores.
2 But, in the law of Yahweh, is his delight,and, in his law, doth he talk with himself day and night.
2 Mas o seu prazer está na lei do SENHOR, e na sua lei medita de dia e de noite.
3 So doth he become like a tree planted by streams of waters,that yieldeth, its fruit, in its season, whose leaf, also doth not wither, and, whatsoever he doeth, prospereth.
3 E ele será como uma árvore plantada junto aos rios de água, que produz seu fruto em sua estação; sua folha também não murchará; e tudo aquilo que ele faça, prosperará.
4 Not so, the lawless,but as chaff which is driven about by the wind:
4 Os ímpios não são assim; mas são como a palha que o vento lança para longe.
5 For this cause, shall the lawless not stand in the judgment,nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
5 Portanto, os ímpios não ficarão de pé no juízo, nem pecadores na congregação dos justos.
6 For Yahweh doth acknowledge the way of the righteous; but, the way of the lawless, shall vanish.
6 Porque o SENHOR conhece o caminho dos justos, mas o caminho dos ímpios perecerá.
