1 BOOK THE FIRST How happy the man, who hath not walked in the counsel of the lawless,and, in the way of sinners, hath not stood, and, in the seat of scoffers, hath not sat;
1 Bem-aventurado é aquele que não anda no conselho dos ímpios, não se detém no caminho dos pecadores, nem se assenta na roda dos escarnecedores.
2 But, in the law of Yahweh, is his delight,and, in his law, doth he talk with himself day and night.
2 Pelo contrário, o seu prazer está na lei do e na sua lei medita de dia e de noite.
3 So doth he become like a tree planted by streams of waters,that yieldeth, its fruit, in its season, whose leaf, also doth not wither, and, whatsoever he doeth, prospereth.
3 Ele é como árvore plantada junto a uma corrente de águas, que, no devido tempo, dá o seu fruto, e cuja folhagem não murcha; e tudo o que ele faz será bem-sucedido.
4 Not so, the lawless,but as chaff which is driven about by the wind:
4 Os ímpios não são assim; são, porém, como a palha que o vento dispersa.
5 For this cause, shall the lawless not stand in the judgment,nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
5 Por isso, os ímpios não prevalecerão no juízo, nem os pecadores, na congregação dos justos.
6 For Yahweh doth acknowledge the way of the righteous; but, the way of the lawless, shall vanish.
6 Pois o Senhor conhece o caminho dos justos, mas o caminho dos ímpios perecerá.
