1 Hear the word of Yahweh, ye sons of Israel,that, a controversy, hath Yahweh with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no faithfulness, nor lovingkindness, nor knowledge of God, in the land:
1 Ó israelitas, ouçam a palavra do S enhor ! O S “Não há fidelidade, nem bondade, nem conhecimento de Deus em sua terra.
2 Cursing and lying, and killing and stealing, and committing adultery, have broken forth, and, blood-shedding, unto blood-shedding, doth extend.
2 Vocês fazem votos e não os cumprem; matam, roubam e cometem adultério. Há violência em toda parte, um homicídio atrás do outro.
3 For this cause, shall the land mourn, and everyone who dwelleth therein shall languish, with the wild beast of the field and with the bird of the heavens,moreover also, the fishes of the sea, shall be withdrawn.
3 Por isso sua terra está de luto, e todos desfalecem. Até os animais selvagens, as aves do céu e os peixes do mar estão desaparecendo.
4 Howbeit let, no man, contend, nor let him rebuke another,since, thy people, are as they who contend against a priest:
4 “Não apontem o dedo para outra pessoa, não tentem escapar da culpa! Minha queixa é contra vocês, sacerdotes!
5 So shouldst thou stumble in the daytime, and even the prophet stumble with thee, in the night,and I should destroy thine own mother.
5 Vocês tropeçarão em plena luz do dia, e seus profetas cairão com vocês durante a noite; e eu destruirei Israel, sua mãe.
6 My people, are destroyed, for lack of knowledge,Because, thou, hast rejected knowledge, therefore will I reject thee from ministering as priest unto me, and, because thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also, will forget thy children.
6 Meu povo está sendo destruído porque não me conhece. Porque vocês, sacerdotes, não querem me conhecer, eu não os reconhecerei como meus sacerdotes. Porque se esqueceram da lei de seu Deus, eu me esquecerei de seus filhos.
7 As they were magnified, so, they sinned against me,My gloryfor what was contemptible, did they exchange.
7 Quanto maior o número de sacerdotes, mais eles pecam contra mim. Trocaram a glória de Deus pela vergonha de ídolos.
8 The sin of my people, they do eat,and. unto their iniquity, lift they up every man his desire.
8 “Quando o povo traz suas ofertas pelo pecado, os sacerdotes se alimentam. Por isso, eles se alegram quando o povo peca!
9 So doth it come to belike people, like priest,therefore will I visit upon him his ways, and, his doings, will I bring back to him;
9 E, assim como são os sacerdotes, assim é o povo. Por isso, a ambos castigarei por seus atos perversos.
10 And they shall eat, and not be satisfied, they have encouraged unchastity, yet have not been making increase,for unto, Yahweh, have they left off giving heed:
10 Eles comerão, mas ainda sentirão fome; eles se prostituirão, mas nada receberão, pois abandonaram o S
11 Unchastity, and wine, and new wine, take away the heart.
11 para cometer adultério com outros deuses. “O vinho tirou o entendimento de meu povo.
12 My people, of their Wood, do ask,Let, their Staff, then tell them,for, the spirit of unchastity, hath led them astray, and they have unchastely departed from under their God.
12 Pedem conselho a pedaços de madeira, pensam que uma vara lhes dirá o futuro. Seu desejo de ir atrás de ídolos os tornou insensatos. Prostituíram-se cometendo adultério com outros deuses e abandonando seu Deus.
13 On the headlands of the mountains, they sacrifice, and, on the hills, burn they incense, under oak and poplar and terebinth, because, pleasant, is the shade thereof: For this cause, do your daughters, become unchaste, and, your brides, commit adultery.
13 Oferecem sacrifícios a ídolos no alto dos montes; sobem as colinas para queimar incenso à sombra agradável de carvalhos, álamos e terebintos. “Por isso suas filhas se voltam para a prostituição, e suas noras cometem adultério.
14 I do not bring punishment upon your daughters when they become unchaste, nor upon your brides, when they commit adultery, for, the men themselves, with unchaste women, do seclude themselves, and, with the common women of the shrine, do offer sacrifice,and, a people who will not discern, must be ruined.
14 Mas por que eu as castigaria por sua prostituição e adultério? Pois seus homens fazem a mesma coisa, pecando com prostitutas de rua e dos santuários. Ó povo sem entendimento, você segue rumo à destruição!
15 Though unchaste art thou, O Israel, let not Judah, become guilty, neither let them enter Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, and swear, By the life of Yahweh!
15 “Embora você, Israel, se prostitua, que Judá não seja culpado dessas coisas. Não participe da falsa adoração em Gilgal nem em Bete-Áven, não faça juramentos ali em nome do S
16 For, as a heifer that is stubborn, hath Israel, been stubborn,Now, can Yahweh, turn them out to pasture, like a young ram in a wide place?
16 A nação de Israel é rebelde como uma bezerra teimosa. Acaso o S como um cordeiro em pastos verdes?
17 Mated with idols, is Ephraim, let him alone.
17 Deixe Israel de lado, pois se apegou à idolatria.
18 Their drinking-bout, having passed,they became, unchaste, they loved wildly, a contempt, became her great men.
18 Quando os governantes de Israel terminam de beber, saem à procura de prostitutas; amam a vergonha mais que a honra.
19 The wind hath bound her up in its wings,that they may be ashamed, because of their sacrifices.
19 Por isso, um forte vento os levará para longe; seus sacrifícios idólatras os envergonharão.”
