1 Hear the word of Yahweh, ye sons of Israel,that, a controversy, hath Yahweh with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no faithfulness, nor lovingkindness, nor knowledge of God, in the land:
1 Ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, vós filhos de Israel, pois o SENHOR tem uma controvérsia com os habitantes da terra; porque não há verdade, nem misericórdia, nem conhecimento de Deus na terra.
2 Cursing and lying, and killing and stealing, and committing adultery, have broken forth, and, blood-shedding, unto blood-shedding, doth extend.
2 Quando juram, mentem, matam, e roubam, e cometem adultério, eles cometem violência, e sangue toca sangue.
3 For this cause, shall the land mourn, and everyone who dwelleth therein shall languish, with the wild beast of the field and with the bird of the heavens,moreover also, the fishes of the sea, shall be withdrawn.
3 Por isso, a terra se lamentará, e todos os que nela habitam desfalecerão, com os animais do campo e com as aves do céu; sim, e também os peixes do mar serão tirados.
4 Howbeit let, no man, contend, nor let him rebuke another,since, thy people, are as they who contend against a priest:
4 Todavia, ninguém contenda, nem reprove o outro, pois o teu povo é como os que contendem com o sacerdote.
5 So shouldst thou stumble in the daytime, and even the prophet stumble with thee, in the night,and I should destroy thine own mother.
5 Por isso, cairás de dia, e o profeta também cairá contigo de noite; e destruirei a tua mãe.
6 My people, are destroyed, for lack of knowledge,Because, thou, hast rejected knowledge, therefore will I reject thee from ministering as priest unto me, and, because thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also, will forget thy children.
6 O meu povo é destruído por falta de conhecimento; porque tu rejeitaste o conhecimento, também eu te rejeitarei, para que tu não sejas sacerdote diante de mim; visto que te esqueceste da lei do teu Deus, também eu me esquecerei de teus filhos.
7 As they were magnified, so, they sinned against me,My gloryfor what was contemptible, did they exchange.
7 Como eles se multiplicaram, assim pecaram contra mim; portanto eu mudarei a sua glória em vergonha.
8 The sin of my people, they do eat,and. unto their iniquity, lift they up every man his desire.
8 Eles se alimentam dos pecados do meu povo, e colocam o seu coração em sua iniquidade.
9 So doth it come to belike people, like priest,therefore will I visit upon him his ways, and, his doings, will I bring back to him;
9 Por isso, tal como o povo, assim é o sacerdote; e os punirei por causa de seus caminhos, e lhes darei a recompensa das suas obras.
10 And they shall eat, and not be satisfied, they have encouraged unchastity, yet have not been making increase,for unto, Yahweh, have they left off giving heed:
10 Pois eles comerão, mas não se fartarão; se prostituirão, mas não se multiplicarão; porque deixaram de atentar ao SENHOR.
11 Unchastity, and wine, and new wine, take away the heart.
11 A prostituição, e o vinho, e o mosto levam para longe o coração.
12 My people, of their Wood, do ask,Let, their Staff, then tell them,for, the spirit of unchastity, hath led them astray, and they have unchastely departed from under their God.
12 O meu povo consulta a sua madeira, e a sua vara lhe responde, porque o espírito da prostituição os conduziu ao erro, e fornicaram apartando-se do seu Deus.
13 On the headlands of the mountains, they sacrifice, and, on the hills, burn they incense, under oak and poplar and terebinth, because, pleasant, is the shade thereof: For this cause, do your daughters, become unchaste, and, your brides, commit adultery.
13 Sacrificam sobre os cumes dos montes, e queimam incenso sobre as colinas, debaixo do carvalho, e do álamo, e do olmeiro, porque a sua sombra é boa; por isso vossas filhas se prostituem e as vossas esposas cometem adultério.
14 I do not bring punishment upon your daughters when they become unchaste, nor upon your brides, when they commit adultery, for, the men themselves, with unchaste women, do seclude themselves, and, with the common women of the shrine, do offer sacrifice,and, a people who will not discern, must be ruined.
14 Eu não punirei vossas filhas, quando cometerem a prostituição, nem vossas esposas, quando cometerem adultério; porque elas mesmas se desviam com prostitutas, e sacrificam com meretrizes; portanto o povo que não tem entendimento cairá.
15 Though unchaste art thou, O Israel, let not Judah, become guilty, neither let them enter Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, and swear, By the life of Yahweh!
15 Embora tu, ó Israel, te prostituas, contudo não se faça culpado Judá; não venhais a Gilgal, e não subais a Bete-Áven, e não jureis, dizendo: O SENHOR vive.
16 For, as a heifer that is stubborn, hath Israel, been stubborn,Now, can Yahweh, turn them out to pasture, like a young ram in a wide place?
16 Porque Israel se desviou como uma novilha indomável; agora o SENHOR os alimentará como a um cordeiro num lugar espaçoso.
17 Mated with idols, is Ephraim, let him alone.
17 Efraim está entregue aos ídolos, deixa-o.
18 Their drinking-bout, having passed,they became, unchaste, they loved wildly, a contempt, became her great men.
18 A sua bebida é amarga; eles cometeram a prostituição continuamente; certamente os seus governadores amam a vergonha. Dê-lhes.
19 The wind hath bound her up in its wings,that they may be ashamed, because of their sacrifices.
19 O vento a amarrou em suas asas, e eles serão envergonhados por causa dos seus sacrifícios.
