Oséias 4
Rotherham Version (ROTH) vs NTLH
1 Hear the word of Yahweh, ye sons of Israel,that, a controversy, hath Yahweh with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no faithfulness, nor lovingkindness, nor knowledge of God, in the land:
1 O Senhor Deus tem uma acusação a fazer contra o povo que vive neste país. Escutem, israelitas, o que Deus está dizendo: — Não há sinceridade, não há bondade, e ninguém neste país quer saber de Deus.
2 Cursing and lying, and killing and stealing, and committing adultery, have broken forth, and, blood-shedding, unto blood-shedding, doth extend.
2 Juram falso, mentem, matam, roubam e cometem adultério. Os crimes e os assassinatos aumentam.
3 For this cause, shall the land mourn, and everyone who dwelleth therein shall languish, with the wild beast of the field and with the bird of the heavens,moreover also, the fishes of the sea, shall be withdrawn.
3 Por isso, a terra ficará seca, e tudo o que vive nela morrerá. Morrerão os animais, as aves e até os peixes.
4 Howbeit let, no man, contend, nor let him rebuke another,since, thy people, are as they who contend against a priest:
4 O Senhor Deus diz: — Não acusem nem repreendam o meu povo. A minha acusação é contra vocês, sacerdotes.
5 So shouldst thou stumble in the daytime, and even the prophet stumble with thee, in the night,and I should destroy thine own mother.
5 Dia e noite, vocês andam sem rumo, e os profetas fazem o mesmo. Vou acabar com Israel, a mãe de vocês.
6 My people, are destroyed, for lack of knowledge,Because, thou, hast rejected knowledge, therefore will I reject thee from ministering as priest unto me, and, because thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also, will forget thy children.
6 O meu povo não quer saber de mim e por isso está sendo destruído. E vocês, sacerdotes, também não querem saber de mim e esqueceram as minhas leis ; portanto, eu não os aceito mais como meus sacerdotes, nem aceitarei os seus filhos como meus sacerdotes.
7 As they were magnified, so, they sinned against me,My gloryfor what was contemptible, did they exchange.
7 — Quanto maior é o número de sacerdotes, maior também é o número de pecados que cometem; por isso vou fazer a glória deles virar desgraça.
8 The sin of my people, they do eat,and. unto their iniquity, lift they up every man his desire.
8 Eles ganham a vida à custa dos pecados do povo e por causa disso querem que o povo peque.
9 So doth it come to belike people, like priest,therefore will I visit upon him his ways, and, his doings, will I bring back to him;
9 Portanto, os sacerdotes sofrerão o mesmo castigo que vou fazer cair sobre o meu povo. Vou castigá-los, e eles terão de pagar pelo mal que fizeram.
10 And they shall eat, and not be satisfied, they have encouraged unchastity, yet have not been making increase,for unto, Yahweh, have they left off giving heed:
10 Os sacerdotes estão me abandonando e adorando outros deuses. Por isso comerão dos sacrifícios que o povo me oferece, mas não ficarão satisfeitos; adorarão os deuses da fertilidade, mas não terão filhos.
11 Unchastity, and wine, and new wine, take away the heart.
11 Deus diz: — O meu povo está perdendo o juízo porque anda bebendo muito vinho.
12 My people, of their Wood, do ask,Let, their Staff, then tell them,for, the spirit of unchastity, hath led them astray, and they have unchastely departed from under their God.
12 Pedem a um pedaço de pau que revele o futuro e fazem perguntas a uma coluna de madeira. Eles me abandonaram. Como uma mulher que se torna prostituta, eles me abandonaram e se entregaram a deuses pagãos.
13 On the headlands of the mountains, they sacrifice, and, on the hills, burn they incense, under oak and poplar and terebinth, because, pleasant, is the shade thereof: For this cause, do your daughters, become unchaste, and, your brides, commit adultery.
13 Oferecem sacrifícios nos altares pagãos no alto dos montes e ali queimam incenso debaixo dos carvalhos e de outras árvores cheias de folhas, onde a sombra é tão gostosa. — E assim as suas filhas viram prostitutas, e as suas noras cometem adultério.
14 I do not bring punishment upon your daughters when they become unchaste, nor upon your brides, when they commit adultery, for, the men themselves, with unchaste women, do seclude themselves, and, with the common women of the shrine, do offer sacrifice,and, a people who will not discern, must be ruined.
14 Mas nem por isso eu as castigarei; pois vocês, homens, têm encontros com prostitutas nos templos pagãos e vão com elas oferecer sacrifícios aos deuses pagãos. E assim um povo sem juízo caminha rápido para a destruição!
15 Though unchaste art thou, O Israel, let not Judah, become guilty, neither let them enter Gilgal, nor go up to Beth-aven, and swear, By the life of Yahweh!
15 — O povo de Israel está sendo infiel a mim, mas espero que o povo de Judá não seja culpado do mesmo pecado. Não adorem em Gilgal ou em Bete-Avém , nem façam ali promessas em nome do Senhor Deus, que vive para sempre.
16 For, as a heifer that is stubborn, hath Israel, been stubborn,Now, can Yahweh, turn them out to pasture, like a young ram in a wide place?
16 O povo de Israel é teimoso como uma vaca brava. Não posso cuidar do meu povo como um pastor cuida das ovelhas num pasto grande.
17 Mated with idols, is Ephraim, let him alone.
17 O meu povo se entrega à adoração de ídolos, e não se pode fazer nada quanto a isso.
18 Their drinking-bout, having passed,they became, unchaste, they loved wildly, a contempt, became her great men.
18 Eles ficam embriagados e se entregam à imoralidade, levando assim uma vida de desonra.
19 The wind hath bound her up in its wings,that they may be ashamed, because of their sacrifices.
19 Um vento os carregará para longe, e ficarão com vergonha da sua idolatria.
