1 But take heed, that ye do not, your righteousness, before men, to be gazed at by them,otherwise at least, reward, have ye none, with your Father who is in the heavens.
1 Guardai-vos de fazer vossas boas obras diante dos homens, para serdes vistos por eles. Do contrário, não tereis recompensa junto de vosso Pai que está no céu.
2 When, therefore, thou mayest be doing an alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, just as, the hypocrites, do in the synagogues and in the streetsthat they may be glorified by men,Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.
2 Quando, pois, dás esmola, não toques a trombeta diante de ti, como fazem os hipócritas nas sinagogas e nas ruas, para serem louvados pelos homens. Em verdade eu vos digo: já receberam sua recompensa.
3 But, thou, when doing an alms, let not, thy left hand, know what thy right hand is doing;
3 Quando deres esmola, que tua mão esquerda não saiba o que fez a direita.
4 that thine alms may be in secret,and, thy Father, who seeth in secret, will give it back to thee.
4 Assim, a tua esmola se fará em segredo; e teu Pai, que vê o escondido, recompensar-te-á.
5 And, when ye may be praying, ye shall not be as the hypocrites, because they love, in the synagogues, and at the corners of the broad ways, to take their stand and pray, that they may shine before men; Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.
5 Quando orardes, não façais como os hipócritas, que gostam de orar de pé nas sinagogas e nas esquinas das ruas, para serem vistos pelos homens. Em verdade eu vos digo: já receberam sua recompensa.
6 But, thou, when thou wouldest pray, enter into thy closet, and, fastening thy door, pray unto thy Father who is in secret,and, thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
6 Quando orares, entra no teu quarto, fecha a porta e ora ao teu Pai em segredo; e teu Pai, que vê num lugar oculto, recompensar-te-á.
7 And, being at prayer, use not vain repetitions, just like the nations,for they think, that, in their much speaking, they shall be hoard;
7 Nas vossas orações, não multipliqueis as palavras, como fazem os pagãos que julgam que serão ouvidos à força de palavras.
8 do not, therefore, make yourselves like them, for God your Father knoweth of what things ye have, need, before ye ask him.
8 Não os imiteis, porque vosso Pai sabe o que vos é necessário, antes que vós lho peçais.
9 Thus, therefore pray, ye: Our Father, who art in the heavens,Hallowed be thy name,
9 Eis como deveis rezar: PAI NOSSO, que estais no céu, santificado seja o vosso nome;
10 Come may thy kingdom,Accomplished be thy will, as in heaven, also on earth:
10 venha a nós o vosso Reino; seja feita a vossa vontade, assim na terra como no céu.
11 Our needful bread, give us, this day;
11 O pão nosso de cada dia nos dai hoje;
12 And forgive us our debts, as, we also, have forgiven our debtors;
12 perdoai-nos as nossas ofensas, assim como nós perdoamos aos que nos ofenderam;
13 And bring us not into temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.
13 e não nos deixeis cair em tentação, mas livrai-nos do mal.
14 For, if ye forgive men their faults, Your Father who is in the heavens, will forgive, even you;
14 Porque, se perdoardes aos homens as suas ofensas, vosso Pai celeste também vos perdoará.
15 But, if ye forgive not men their faults , neither will your Father forgive, your faults.
15 Mas se não perdoardes aos homens, tampouco vosso Pai vos perdoará.
16 And, when ye may he fasting, become not ye, as the hypocrites, of sullen countenance,for they darken their looks, that they may appear, unto men, to be fasting: Verily, I say unto you, they are getting back their reward.
16 Quando jejuardes, não tomeis um ar triste como os hipócritas, que mostram um semblante abatido para manifestar aos homens que jejuam. Em verdade eu vos digo: já receberam sua recompensa.
17 But, when, thou, art fasting, anoint thy head, and, thy face, wash,
17 Quando jejuares, perfuma a tua cabeça e lava o teu rosto.
18 that thou do not appear, unto men, to be fasting, but to thy Father who is in secret,and, thy Father who seeth in secret, will reward thee.
18 Assim, não parecerá aos homens que jejuas, mas somente a teu Pai que está presente ao oculto; e teu Pai, que vê num lugar oculto, recompensar-te-á.
19 Be not laying up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where, moth and rust, do tarnish, and where, thieves, dig through and steal;
19 Não ajunteis para vós tesouros na terra, onde a ferrugem e as traças corroem, onde os ladrões furtam e roubam.
20 but be laying up or yourselves treasures in heaven, where, neither moth nor rust, doth tarnish, and where, thieves, dig not through nor steal:
20 Ajuntai para vós tesouros no céu, onde não os consomem nem as traças nem a ferrugem, e os ladrões não furtam nem roubam.
21 for, where, thy treasure, is, there, will be, thy heart also .
21 Porque onde está o teu tesouro, lá também está teu coração.
22 The lamp of the body, is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body, shall be, lighted up;
22 O olho é a luz do corpo. Se teu olho é são, todo o teu corpo será iluminado.
23 But, if thine eye be, evil, thy whole body, shall be, in the dark;if therefore, the light which is in thee, is, darkness, the darkness, how great!
23 Se teu olho estiver em mau estado, todo o teu corpo estará nas trevas. Se a luz que está em ti são trevas, quão espessas deverão ser as trevas!
24 No one, unto two masters, can be in service; for either, the one, he will hate, and, the other ,love, or, one, he will hold to, and, the other, despise: Ye cannot be in service, unto God, and, unto Riches.
24 Ninguém pode servir a dois senhores, porque ou odiará a um e amará o outro, ou dedicar-se-á a um e desprezará o outro. Não podeis servir a Deus e à riqueza.
25 For this cause, I say unto you: Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink ,or for your body, what ye shall put on: Is not, the life, more than, the food? And, the body, than, the raiment?
25 Portanto, eis que vos digo: não vos preocupeis por vossa vida, pelo que comereis, nem por vosso corpo, pelo que vestireis. A vida não é mais do que o alimento e o corpo não é mais que as vestes?
26 Observe intently, the birds of the heaven,that they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns, and yet, your heavenly Father, feedeth, them: Are no, ye, much better than, they?
26 Olhai as aves do céu: não semeiam nem ceifam, nem recolhem nos celeiros e vosso Pai celeste as alimenta. Não valeis vós muito mais que elas?
27 But who from among you, being anxious, can add to his stature one cubit?
27 Qual de vós, por mais que se esforce, pode acrescentar um só côvado à duração de sua vida?
28 And, about clothing, why are ye anxious? Consider well the lilies of the field, how they grow,they toil not neither do they spin;
28 E por que vos inquietais com as vestes? Considerai como crescem os lírios do campo; não trabalham nem fiam.
29 And yet, I say unto you, not even Solomon, in all his glory, was arrayed like, one of these!
29 Entretanto, eu vos digo que o próprio Salomão no auge de sua glória não se vestiu como um deles.
30 Now, if the grass of the fieldwhich to-day, is, and, to-morrow, into an oven, is castGod thus adorneth, not much rather, you, little of faith?
30 Se Deus veste assim a erva dos campos, que hoje cresce e amanhã será lançada ao fogo, quanto mais a vós, homens de pouca fé?
31 Do not then be anxious saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or Wherewithal shall we be arrayed?
31 Não vos aflijais, nem digais: Que comeremos? Que beberemos? Com que nos vestiremos?
32 For, all these things, the nations, seek after,for your heavenly Father, knoweth, that ye are needing, all these things.
32 São os pagãos que se preocupam com tudo isso. Ora, vosso Pai celeste sabe que necessitais de tudo isso.
33 But be seeking first, the kingdom and its righteousness,and, all these things, shall be added unto you.
33 Buscai em primeiro lugar o Reino de Deus e a sua justiça e todas estas coisas vos serão dadas em acréscimo.
34 Do not, then, be anxious for the morrow; for the morrow, will be anxious, for itself: Sufficient for the day, is the evil thereof.
34 Não vos preocupeis, pois, com o dia de amanhã: o dia de amanhã terá as suas preocupações próprias. A cada dia basta o seu cuidado.
