1 And he went forth from thence, and cometh into his own city,and his disciples follow him.
1 E ele saindo dali, chegou à sua própria terra, e os seus discípulos o seguiram.
2 And, when it was Sabbath, he began to be teaching in the synagogue, and, the greater part, as they heard, were being struck with astonishment, sayingWhence hath this man these things?andWhat the wisdom which hath been given to this man?andSuch mighty works as these, through his hands, are coming to pass!
2 E, chegando o dia do shabat, ele começou a ensinar na sinagoga; e muitos, ao ouvi-lo, se admiravam, dizendo: De onde lhe vem estas coisas? E que sabedoria é esta que lhe é dada, e como estas poderosas obras são feitas por suas mãos?
3 Is not, this, the carpenter? the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?and they were finding cause of stumbling in him.
3 Não é este o carpinteiro, filho de Maria, irmão de Tiago, e de José, e de Judas e de Simão? E não estão aqui conosco suas irmãs? E escandalizavam-se nele.
4 And Jesus was saying unto themA prophet is not without honour, save in his own city and among his kinsfolk, and in his house;
4 Mas Jesus lhes dizia: O profeta não está sem honra, exceto na sua própria terra, e entre os seus próprios parentes, e na sua própria casa.
5 and he could not, there, do so much as a single mighty work,save, on a few sick, he laid his hands and cured them.
5 E ele não podia fazer ali nenhuma obra poderosa, salvo impor suas mãos sobre poucas pessoas enfermas, curando-as.
6 And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he was going round the villages in a circuit, teaching.
6 E admirou-se da descrença deles. E ele percorreu as aldeias vizinhas, ensinando.
7 And he calleth near the twelve, and began to be sending them forth two and two,and was giving them authority over the impure spirits:
7 E ele chamou a si os doze, e começou a enviá-los de dois em dois, e deu-lhes poder sobre os espíritos imundos;
8 and charged them that they should take, nothing, for a journey, save a staff only,no bread, no satchel, no copper, for the belt;
8 e ordenou-lhes que nada levassem para sua jornada, senão somente um cajado; nem alforje, nem pão, nem dinheiro no seu cinto;
9 but having bound on light sandals, and not to put on, two tunics;
9 mas que fossem calçados com sandálias, e que não vestissem duas túnicas.
10 and he was saying unto themWheresoever ye shall enter into a house, there, abide, until ye go forth from thence;
10 E ele dizia-lhes: Onde quer que entrardes numa casa, permanecei até partir daquele lugar.
11 And, whatsoever place shall not welcome you nor hearken unto you, when ye are going forth from thence, shake off the dust that is under you feet, for a witness against them.
11 E aqueles que não vos receberem, nem vos ouvirem, saindo dali, sacudi o pó que estiver debaixo dos vossos pés, em testemunho contra eles. Em verdade eu vos digo que haverá mais tolerância para Sodoma e Gomorra no dia do juízo do que para os daquela cidade.
12 And they went forth and made proclamation, in order that men should repent;
12 E eles foram, e pregando que os homens se arrependessem.
13 and, many demons, were they casting out,and were anointing with oil, many sick, and were curing them.
13 E eles expulsavam muitos demônios, e ungiam com óleo muitos que eram enfermos, e os curavam.
14 And King Herod heard,for, famous, had become his name; and he was sayingJohn the Immerser hath arisen from among the dead, and, for this cause, are the powers working mightily in him;
14 E o rei Herodes ouviu falar dele (pois seu nome foi propagado amplamente) e disse: João, o Batista, foi ressuscitado dentre os mortos, e por isso estas maravilhas operam nele.
15 But, others, were sayingIt is Elijah, and, others were sayingA prophet, like one of the prophets!
15 Outros diziam: Este é Elias. E outros diziam: Este é um profeta, ou como um dos profetas.
16 But, when Herod heard, he was sayingHe whom I beheadedJohn, the same, hath been raised.
16 Mas Herodes ouvindo isso, dizia: Este é João, a quem eu decapitei; ele está ressuscitado dentre os mortos.
17 For, Herod himself, had sent and secured John and bound him in prison, for the sake of Herodias the wife of Philip his brother,for, her, had he married,
17 Pois o próprio Herodes mandara prender a João, e o confinou na prisão, por causa de Herodias, esposa de seu irmão Filipe; porque ele havia se casado com ela.
18 For John had been saying to HerodIt is not allowed thee, to have, the wife of thy brother.
18 Pois João dizia a Herodes: Não te é lícito possuir a esposa de teu irmão.
19 And, Herodias, was cherishing against him, and wishing, to slay him,and could not;
19 Por isso, Herodias tinha uma desavença contra ele, e queria matá-lo, mas ela não podia;
20 for, Herod, stood in fear of John, knowing him to be a man righteous and holy,and was keeping him safe; and, when he heard him, he paid earnest heed, and, with pleasure, used to listen to him.
20 porque Herodes temia a João, sabendo que ele era um homem justo e santo; e o observava; e ao ouvi-lo, ele fazia muitas coisas, e o ouvia de boa vontade.
21 And, an opportune day arriving, when Herod on his birthday made a feast for his nobles, and for the rulers of thousands and for the first men of Galilee,
21 E, chegando um dia oportuno, quando Herodes em seu aniversário fez um jantar aos seus senhores, altos capitães, e chefes da Galileia;
22 when the daughter of this very Herodias came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those reclining together, and, the king, said unto the damselAsk me what thou wilt, and I will give it thee;
22 e entrando a filha de Herodias, e dançando, e agradando a Herodes, e aos que estavam sentados com ele, o rei disse à donzela: Pede-me o que quiseres, e eu te darei.
23 and he took an oath to herWhatsoever thou shalt ask me, I will give thee, unto half my kingdom.
23 E jurou-lhe, dizendo: Tudo o que me pedires eu te darei, até a metade do meu reino.
24 And, going out, she said unto her motherWhat shall I ask? and she saidThe head the Immerser;
24 E, saindo ela, disse à sua mãe: O que eu pedirei? E ela disse: A cabeça de João, o Batista.
25 And, coming in straightway, with hast, unto the king, she asked, sayingI desire, that, forthwith, thou give me, upon a charger, the head the Immerser.
25 E ela veio imediatamente para junto do rei, e pediu, dizendo: Eu quero que tu me dês em um prato a cabeça de João, o Batista.
26 And, though the king was, very grieved, yet, by reason of the oaths, and of them who were reclining, he would not refuse her.
26 E o rei entristeceu-se muito; todavia, por causa do juramento e dos que estavam sentados com ele, não quis deixar de atendê-la.
27 And the king, straightway, sending off a guard, gave orders to bring his head.
27 E imediatamente o rei enviou um carrasco, e ordenou que a cabeça dele fosse trazida; e ele foi, e o decapitou na prisão;
28 And, departing, he beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head upon a charger, and gave it unto the damseland, the damsel, gave it unto her mother.
28 e trouxe sua cabeça em um prato, e entregou à donzela; e a donzela a deu à sua mãe.
29 And, hearing of it, his disciples went and took away his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
29 E, quando seus discípulos ouviram isso, foram, tomaram o seu corpo, e o puseram no sepulcro.
30 And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus, and reported unto him all things, as many as they had done, and as many as they had taught.
30 E os apóstolos reuniram-se com Jesus, e contaram-lhe todas estas coisas, tanto o que tinham feito como o que eles tinham ensinado.
31 And he saith unto themCome, ye yourselves, apart, into a desert place, and rest yourselves a little. For they who were coming and they who were going were many, and, not even to eat, were they finding fitting opportunity.
31 E ele disse-lhes: Vinde vós, aqui à parte, para um lugar deserto, e descansai um tempo. Porque havia muitos que iam e vinham, e não tinham tempo nem para comer.
32 And they departed, in the boat, into a desert place, apart.
32 E eles partiram a sós num barco para um lugar deserto.
33 And many saw them going away, and took note of it, and, afoot, from all the cities, ran they together thither,and outwent them.
33 E as pessoas os viram partir, e muitos o reconheceram, e para lá correram a pé de todas as cidades, e os ultrapassaram, e aproximavam-se dele.
34 And, coming forth, he saw, a great multitude, and was moved with compassion towards them, because they were like sheep having no shepherd, and he began to be teaching them many things.
34 E Jesus, ao desembarcar, viu uma grande multidão, e teve compaixão dela, porque eles eram como ovelhas que não têm pastor; e ele começou a ensinar-lhes muitas coisas.
35 And, already, a late hour, having arrived, his disciples came unto him and were saying, A desert, is the place, and it is, already, a late hour:
35 E, quando o dia já estava muito adiantado, os seus discípulos se aproximaram dele, e lhe disseram: Este lugar é deserto, e o dia está muito adiantado;
36 dismiss them, that, departing into the surrounding hamlets and villages, they may buy themselves something to eat.
36 despede-os, para que possam ir nas regiões ao redor, e às aldeias, e comprem pão para si; porque eles nada têm para comer.
37 But, he, answering said to themYe, give them, to eat. And they say unto himShall we depart and buy two hundred denaries worth of loaves, and give them to eat?
37 Ele respondendo, lhes disse: Dai-lhes vós de comer. E eles disseram-lhe: Devemos ir e comprar duzentos denários de pão e dar-lhes de comer?
38 And, he, saith unto themHow many loaves, have ye? Go, see! And, getting to know, they sayFive, and, two fishes.
38 E ele disse-lhes: Quantos pães vós tendes? Ide e vedes. E, quando eles souberam, disseram: Cinco, e dois peixes.
39 And he gave them orders, that all should be made recline, in parties, upon, the green grass.
39 E ele ordenou-lhes que fizessem assentar a todos, em grupos, sobre a grama verde.
40 And they fell back, in companies, by hundreds and by fifties.
40 E eles assentaram-se em grupos de cem e de cinquenta.
41 And, taking the five loaves, and the two fishes, looking up into heaven, he blessed, and brake up the loaves, and began giving unto the disciples, that they might set before them, and, the two fishes, divided he, unto all.
41 E, tomando ele os cinco pães e os dois peixes, e olhando para o céu, abençoou e partiu os pães, e deu-os aos seus discípulos para que os pusessem diante deles; e dividiu os dois peixes entre todos eles.
42 And they did all eat, and were filled.
42 E todos eles comeram e se fartaram.
43 And they took up broken pieces, twelve baskets, full measure, and from the fishes.
43 E recolheram doze cestos cheios dos pedaços, e de peixe.
44 And they who did eat the loaves were, five thousand men.
44 E os que comeram os pães eram quase cinco mil homens.
45 And, straightway, constrained he his disciples to enter into the boat, and be going forward to the other side, unto Bethsaida,while, he, was dismissing the multitude.
45 E imediatamente obrigou os seus discípulos a entrar no barco e passar adiante, para o outro lado, a Betsaida, enquanto ele despedia a multidão.
46 And, bidding them farewell, he departed into the mountain to pray.
46 E, tendo-os despedido, ele foi ao monte para orar.
47 And, when, evening, came, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and, he alone, on the land.
47 E, ao anoitecer, o barco estava no meio do mar, e ele sozinho em terra.
48 And, seeing them distressed in the rowing, for the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night, he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea,and was wishing to pass by them.
48 E viu-os fatigados a remar, porque o vento lhes era contrário; perto da quarta vigília da noite aproximou-se deles, andando sobre o mar, e queria passar-lhes adiante.
49 But, they, seeing him, upon the sea, walking, supposed that it was an apparition, and cried out aloud;
49 Mas, quando eles o viram andar sobre o mar, imaginaram que fosse um espírito, e gritaram;
50 for, all, saw him, and were troubled. But, he, straightway, talked with them, and saith unto themTake courage! it is, Ibe not afraid!
50 porque todos o viram, e perturbaram-se. E imediatamente falou com eles, e disse-lhes: Tende bom ânimo; sou eu, não tenhais medo.
51 And he went up unto them, into the boat,and the wind lulled. And, exceedingly, within themselves, were they astonished;
51 E subiu para junto deles no barco, e o vento cessou; e ficaram maravilhados em si mesmos além da medida,
52 for they understood not by the loaves,but their, heart, had been, hardened.
52 pois eles não tinham considerado o milagre dos pães; pois o seu coração estava endurecido.
53 And crossing over unto the land, they came unto Gennesaret, and cast anchor near.
53 E, eles passando para o outro lado, chegaram à terra de Genesaré, e atracaram na praia.
54 And, when they had, come forth, out of the boat, straightway, recognizing him,
54 E, quando eles saíram do barco, imediatamente o conheceram,
55 the people ran round the whole of that country, and began to be carrying round, upon couches, them who were sick, wherever they heard that he was.
55 e, correndo toda a região em redor, começaram a trazer em leitos os que estavam enfermos, para onde ouviam dizer que ele estava.
56 And, wheresoever he was entering into villages, or into cities, or into hamlets, in the marketplaces, laid they the sick, and were beseeching him, that, only the fringe of his mantle, they might touch, and, as many soever as touched it, were being made well.
56 E, onde quer que ele entrava, em aldeias, ou cidade, ou nos campos, eles colocavam os enfermos nas ruas, e pediam-lhe que eles pudessem tocar somente na orla da sua roupa; e todos quantos o tocavam ficavam curados.
