1 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain place praying, as he ceased, one of his disciples said unto himLord! teach us to pray, as, John also, taught his disciples.
1 Estava Jesus em certo lugar orando e, quando acabou, disse-lhe um dos seus discípulos: Senhor, ensina-nos a orar, como também João ensinou aos seus discípulos.
2 And he said unto themWhensoever ye are praying, sayFather! Hallowed be thy name, Come may thy kingdom,
2 Ao que ele lhes disse: Quando orardes, dizei: Pai, santificado seja o teu nome; venha o teu reino;
3 Our needful bread, be giving us, day by day;
3 dá-nos cada dia o nosso pão cotidiano;
4 And forgive us our sins, for, even we ourselves, forgive every one indebted to us; And bring us not into temptation.
4 e perdoa-nos os nossos pecados, pois também nós perdoamos a todo aquele que nos deve; e não nos deixes entrar em tentação, {mas livra-nos do mal.}
5 And he said unto themWho from among you, shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto himFriend! supply me with three loaves,
5 Disse-lhes também: Se um de vós tiver um amigo, e se for procurá-lo à meia-noite e lhe disser: Amigo, empresta-me três pães,
6 forasmuch as, a friend of mine, hath come off a journey unto me, and I have not what I can set before him;
6 pois que um amigo meu, estando em viagem, chegou a minha casa, e não tenho o que lhe oferecer;
7 and, he, from within, shall answer, and sayBe not disturbing me,already, the door hath been fastened, and, my children, with me, are, in bed: I cannot rise and give thee?
7 e se ele, de dentro, responder: Não me incomodes; já está a porta fechada, e os meus filhos estão comigo na cama; não posso levantar-me para te atender;
8 I say unto youEven though he will not give him, rising because of his being a friend of his, because, at least, of his importunity, he will rouse himself, and give him as many as he needeth.
8 digo-vos que, ainda que se levante para lhos dar por ser seu amigo, todavia, por causa da sua importunação, se levantará e lhe dará quantos pães ele precisar.
9 I, therefore, unto you, sayBe asking, and it shall be given to you, Be seeking, and ye shall find,Be knocking, and it shall be opened unto you.
9 Pelo que eu vos digo: Pedi, e dar-se-vos-á; buscai e achareis; batei, e abrir-se-vos-á;
10 For, whosoever asketh, receiveth, and, he that seeketh, findeth,and, to him that knocketh, shall it be opened.
10 pois todo o que pede, recebe; e quem busca acha; e ao que bate, abrir-se-lhe-á.
11 But which is the father, from among yourselves, whom the son will ask for, a fish, who, instead of a fish, will give him, a serpent?
11 E qual o pai dentre vós que, se o filho lhe pedir pão, lhe dará uma pedra? Ou, se lhe pedir peixe, lhe dará por peixe uma serpente?
12 Or shall also ask, an egg, who will give him, a scorpion?
12 Ou, se pedir um ovo, lhe dará um escorpião?
13 If therefore, ye, being, evil, know how to be giving, good gifts, unto your children, how much rather, will, the heavenly Father, give Holy Spirit unto them that ask him!
13 Se vós, pois, sendo maus, sabeis dar boas dádivas aos vossos filhos, quanto mais dará o Pai celestial o Espírito Santo àqueles que lho pedirem?
14 And he was casting out a demon that was dumb; and it came to pass, when the demon went out, the dumb began speaking. And the multitudes marvelled;
14 Estava Jesus expulsando um demônio, que era mudo; e aconteceu que, saindo o demônio, o mudo falou; e as multidões se admiraram.
15 but, some from among them, saidIn Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons, is he casting out the demons;
15 Mas alguns deles disseram: É por Belzebu, o príncipe dos demônios, que ele expulsa os demônios.
16 and, others, putting him to the test, a sign out of heaven, were seeking from him.
16 E outros, experimentando-o, lhe pediam um sinal do céu.
17 But, he, knowing their thoughts, said unto themEvery kingdom, against itself divided, is laid waste, and, a house, against a house, , falleth;
17 Ele, porém, conhecendo-lhes os pensamentos, disse-lhes: Todo reino dividido contra si mesmo será assolado, e casa sobre casa cairá.
18 And, if, even Satan, against himself hath become divided, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye are saying that, in Beelzebul, am I casting out the demons.
18 Ora, pois, se Satanás está dividido contra si mesmo, como subsistirá o seu reino? Pois dizeis que eu expulso dos demônios por Belzebu.
19 But, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, your judges.
19 E, se eu expulso os demônios por Belzebu, por quem os expulsam os vossos filhos? Por isso eles mesmos serão os vossos juizes.
20 But, if, with the finger of God, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless unawares hath come upon you, the kingdom of God.
20 Mas, se é pelo dedo de Deus que eu expulso os demônios, logo é chegado a vós o reino de Deus.
21 Whensoever, the mighty one, armed, may be guarding his own dwelling, in peace, are his goods;
21 Quando o valente guarda, armado, a sua casa, em segurança estão os seus bens;
22 But, whensoever, a mightier than he, shall come upon and vanquish him, his panoply, he taketh away, wherein he was trusting, and, his spoils, he distributeth.
22 mas, sobrevindo outro mais valente do que ele, e vencendo-o, tira-lhe toda a armadura em que confiava, e reparte os seus despojos.
23 He that is not with me, is, against me; and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth.
23 Quem não é comigo, é contra mim; e quem comigo não ajunta, espalha.
24 Whensoever, the impure spirit, goeth out from the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest; and, not finding it, then, it saith, I will return unto my house, whence I came out;
24 Ora, havendo o espírito imundo saindo do homem, anda por lugares áridos, buscando repouso; e não o encontrando, diz: Voltarei para minha casa, donde saí.
25 and, coming, findeth it, empty, swept, and adorned.
25 E chegando, acha-a varrida e adornada.
26 Then, goeth it, and taketh along with itself, other spirits, more wicked than itselfseven, and, entering in, fixeth its dwelling there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first.
26 Então vai, e leva consigo outros sete espíritos piores do que ele e, entrando, habitam ali; e o último estado desse homem vem a ser pior do que o primeiro.
27 Now it came to pass, while he was saying these things, that a certain woman out of the multitude, lifting up her voice, said unto himHappy the womb that bare thee! And the breasts which thou didst suck!
27 Ora, enquanto ele dizia estas coisas, certa mulher dentre a multidão levantou a voz e lhe disse: Bem-aventurado o ventre que te trouxe e os peitos em que te amamentaste.
28 But, he, saidYea rather!Happy they who hear the word of God, and observe it!
28 Mas ele respondeu: Antes bem-aventurados os que ouvem a palavra de Deus, e a observam.
29 And, as the multitudes were thronging together, he began to be sayingThis generation, is, a wicked generation: A sign, it is seeking, and, a sign, shall not be given it, save the sign of Jonah.
29 Como afluíssem as multidões, começou ele a dizer: Geração perversa é esta; ela pede um sinal; e nenhum sinal se lhe dará, senão o de Jonas;
30 For, according as, Jonah, became, unto the Ninevites, a sign, so, shall be, the Son of Man also, unto this generation.
30 porquanto, assim como Jonas foi sinal para os ninivitas, também o Filho do homem o será para esta geração.
31 The queen of the south, will rise up, in the judgment, with the men of this generation, and will condemn them; because she came out of the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon,and lo! something more than Solomon, here.
31 A rainha do sul se levantará no juízo com os homens desta geração, e os condenará; porque veio dos confins da terra para ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão; e eis, aqui quem é maior do que Salomão.
32 Men of Nineveh, will rise up, in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it; because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah,and lo! something more than Jonah, here.
32 Os homens de Nínive se levantarão no juízo com esta geração, e a condenarão; porque se arrependeram com a pregação de Jonas; e eis aqui quem é maior do que Jonas.
33 No one, having lighted, a lamp, into a covered place, a putteth it, nor, under the measure; but upon the lampstand, that they who enter may see, the light.
33 Ninguém, depois de acender uma candeia, a põe em lugar oculto, nem debaixo do alqueire, mas no velador, para que os que entram vejam a luz.
34 The lamp of thy body, is thine eye: Whensoever, thine eye, may be, single, even the whole of thy body, is, lighted up; but, whensoever it may be, useless, even thy body, is darkened.
34 A candeia do corpo são os olhos. Quando, pois, os teus olhos forem bons, todo o teu corpo será luminoso; mas, quando forem maus, o teu corpo será tenebroso.
35 Be looking to it, therefore, lest, the light that is in thee, be, darkness.
35 Vê, então, que a luz que há em ti não sejam trevas.
36 If, therefore, thy whole body, is lighted up, not having any part darkened, the whole, shall be lighted up, as whensoever, the lamp, with its radiance, may be giving thee light.
36 Se, pois, todo o teu corpo estiver iluminado, sem ter parte alguma em trevas, será inteiramente luminoso, como quando a candeia te alumia com o seu resplendor.
37 And, when he had spoken, a Pharisee was requesting him that he would dine with him; and, entering, he reclined.
37 Acabando Jesus de falar, um fariseu o convidou para almoçar com ele; e havendo Jesus entrado, reclinou-se à mesa.
38 And, the Pharisee, beholding, marvelled that he was not, first, immersed, before the dinner.
38 O fariseu admirou-se, vendo que ele não se lavara antes de almoçar.
39 And the Lord said unto him: Now, ye, the Pharisees, the outside of the cup and of the tray, do make pure; but, your inward part, is full of plunder and wickedness.
39 Ao que o Senhor lhe disse: Ora vós, os fariseus, limpais o exterior do corpo e do prato; mas o vosso interior do copo e do prato; mas o vosso interior está cheio de rapina e maldade.
40 Simple ones! Did not, he who made the outside, the inside also, make?
40 Loucos! quem fez o exterior, não fez também o inferior?
41 Notwithstanding, as to the things within, give alms, and lo! everything, is, pure unto you.
41 Dai, porém, de esmola o que está dentro do copo e do prato, e eis que todas as coisas vos serão limpas.
42 But alas for you, the Pharisees! because ye tithe the mint, and the rue, and every garden herb, and pass by justice, and the love of God. But, these things, it was biding to do, and, those, not to pass by.
42 Mas ai de vós, fariseus! porque dais o dízimo da hortelã, e da arruda, e de toda hortaliça, e desprezais a justiça e o amor de Deus. Ora, estas coisas importava fazer, sem deixar aquelas.
43 Alas for you, the Pharisees! because ye love the first seats in the synagogues, and the salutations in the market-places!
43 Ai de vós, fariseus! porque gostais dos primeiros assentos nas sinagogas, e das saudações nas praças.
44 Alas for you! because ye are as the secret tombs: even the men that are walking above them, know it not.
44 Ai de vós! porque sois como as sepulturas que não aparecem, sobre as quais andam os homens sem o saberem.
45 And, making answer, one of the Lawyers saith unto him, Teacher! these things, saying, us also, dost thou insult!
45 Disse-lhe, então, um dos doutores da lei: Mestre, quando dizes isso, também nos afrontas a nós.
46 And, he, saidAnd, for you, the lawyers, alas! because ye lade men with burdens hard to be borne, and, yourselves, with one of your fingers, touch not the burdens.
46 Ele, porém, respondeu: Ai de vós também, doutores da lei! porque carregais os homens com fardos difíceis de suportar, e vós mesmos nem ainda com um dos vossos dedos tocais nesses fardos.
47 Alas for you! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers slew them!
47 Ai de vós! porque edificais os túmulos dos profetas, e vossos pais os mataram.
48 Hence, witnesses, are ye, and find consenting pleasure in the works of your fathers: because, they, indeed, slew them, and, ye, are building, .
48 Assim sois testemunhas e aprovais as obras de vossos pais; porquanto eles os mataram, e vós lhes edificais os túmulos.
49 For this cause, the Wisdom of God hath saidI will send forth, unto them, prophets and apostles,and, some from among them, will they slay, and, persecute:
49 Por isso diz também a sabedoria de Deus: Profetas e apóstolos lhes mandarei; e eles matarão uns, e perseguirão outros;
50 That the blood of all the prophets which hath been shed from the foundation of the world, may be sought out, from this generation,
50 para que a esta geração se peçam contas do sangue de todos os profetas que, desde a fundação do mundo, foi derramado;
51 From the blood of Abel, unto the blood of Zachariah who was destroyed betwixt the altar and the house; Yea! I say unto youIt shall be sought out from this generation.
51 desde o sangue de Abel, até o sangue de Zacarias, que foi morto entre o altar e o santuário; sim, eu vos digo, a esta geração se pedirão contas.
52 Alas for you, the lawyers! because ye took away the key of knowledge: yourselves, entered not, and, them who were entering, ye hindered.
52 Ai de vós, doutores da lei! porque tirastes a chave da ciência; vós mesmos não entrastes, e impedistes aos que entravam.
53 And, when, from thence, he came out, the Scribes and the Pharisees began, with vehemence, to be hemming him in, and trying to make him speak off-hand concerning many things,
53 Ao sair ele dali, começaram os escribas e os fariseus a apertá-lo fortemente, e a interrogá-lo acerca de muitas coisas,
54 lying in wait for him, to catch something out of his mouth.
54 armando-lhe ciladas, a fim de o apanharem em alguma coisa que dissesse.
