1 Blow ye a horn in Zion, sound an alarm in my holy mountain, let all the inhabitants of the land, tremble,for coming is the day of Yahweh, for it is near!
1 Toquem a trombeta em Sião e deem o alarme no meu santo monte. Que todos os moradores da terra tremam, porque o Dia do está chegando; já está próximo.
2 A day of obscurity and deep gloom, a day of cloud, and thick darkness, as dusk, spread over the mountains,a people, many and bold, like whom, hath not been from age-past times, and, after whom, shall not be again unto the years of generation after generation.
2 É dia de trevas e escuridão, dia de nuvens e densas trevas! Como a luz do amanhecer sobre os montes, assim se difunde um povo grande e poderoso, como nunca houve igual desde os tempos antigos, nem haverá outro depois dele pelos anos seguintes, de geração em geração.
3 Before him, hath a fire, devoured, and, after him, shall a flame, consume,As the garden of Eden, is the land before him, but, after him, a desert most desolate, Moreover also, escape, giveth he none.
3 À frente dele vai fogo devorador, atrás dele vêm chamas destruidoras. Diante desse povo, a terra é como o jardim do Éden; mas, atrás dele, fica devastada como um deserto. Nada lhe escapa.
4 As the appearance of horses, is his appearance, and, as war-horses, so, shall they run:
4 A sua aparência é como a de cavalos; e, como cavaleiros, assim correm.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, shall they rattle along, like the noise of a flame of fire, devouring dry straw,like a people bold, arrayed for battle.
5 Com um estrondo semelhante ao de carros de guerra, eles vêm saltando no alto dos montes, crepitando como chamas de fogo que devoram a palha, como um povo poderoso posto em ordem de combate.
6 Because of him, shall peoples, be in anguish,all faces, have withdrawn their colour.
6 Diante deles, os povos tremem; todos os rostos empalidecem.
7 Like heroes, shall they run, like men of war, shall they mount a wall,and, every onealong his own road, shall they march along, and shall not change their paths;
7 Correm como valentes; como homens de guerra, sobem muros. Cada um vai no seu caminho e não se desvia da sua fileira.
8 Nor, against each other, shall they strike, Eachon his own highway, shall they march,though, in among the weapons, they fall, they shall not stop.
8 Não empurram uns aos outros; cada um segue o seu rumo. Avançam entre as lanças e não se detêm no seu caminho.
9 Upon the city, shall they leap, on the wall, shall they run, up the houses, shall they climb,through the windows, shall they enter, like a thief,
9 Invadem a cidade, correm pelas muralhas, sobem pelas paredes das casas, entram pelas janelas como ladrões.
10 Before him, hath quaked the earth, have trembled the heavens,the sun and the moon, have become dark, and, the stars, have withdrawn their shining;
10 Diante deles, a terra treme e os céus se abalam; o sol e a lua se escurecem, e as estrelas deixam de brilhar.
11 And, Yahweh, hath uttered his voice, before his host, for great indeed is his camp, for bold is he who executeth his word,for great is the day of Yahweh, and awful exceedingly, Who then shall endure it?
11 O Senhor levanta a voz diante do seu exército. Porque o seu arraial é enorme, e quem executa as suas ordens é poderoso. Sim, grande e mui terrível é o Dia do Quem o poderá suportar?
12 Even now, therefore, urgeth Yahweh, Turn ye unto me, with all your heart,and with fasting and with weeping, and with lamentation;
12 Ainda assim, agora mesmo, diz o “Convertam-se a mim de todo o coração; com jejuns, com choro e com pranto.
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, turn therefore, unto Yahweh your God,for, gracious and full of compassion, is he, slow to anger, and abundant in loving- kindness, and will grieve over calamity.
13 Rasguem o coração, e não as suas roupas.” Convertam-se ao seu Deus, porque ele é bondoso e compassivo, tardio em irar-se e grande em misericórdia, e muda de ideia quanto ao mal que havia anunciado.
14 Who knoweth, he may turn and grieve,and leave behind him, a blessing, a meal-offering and a drink-offering, to Yahweh your God?
14 Quem sabe se ele não se voltará e mudará de ideia, e, ao passar, deixe uma bênção, para que vocês possam trazer ofertas de cereais e libações ao
15 Blow ye a horn, in Zion,hallow a fast, call a solemn assembly:
15 Toquem a trombeta em Sião, proclamem um santo jejum, convoquem uma reunião solene.
16 Gather the people, hallow a convocation, collect the elders, gather the children, and the sucklings of the breasts,let the bridegroom, come forth, from his chamber, and the bride from her bower:
16 Reúnam o povo, santifiquem a congregação, congreguem os anciãos, reúnam as crianças e os que mamam no peito. Que o noivo saia do seu quarto, e a noiva, dos seus aposentos.
17 Between the porch and the altar, let the priests, weep, the attendants of Yahweh,and let them sayLook with pity, O Yahweh, upon thy people, and do not deliver thine inheritance to reproach, that the nations, should mock them, Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
17 Que os sacerdotes, ministros do chorem entre o pórtico e o altar, e orem: “Poupa o teu povo, ó e não faças da tua herança um objeto de deboche e de zombaria entre as nações. Por que hão de dizer entre os povos: ‘Onde está o Deus deles?’”
18 And Yahweh became jealous for his land,and took pity on his people;
18 Então o Senhor teve grande amor pela sua terra e se compadeceu do seu povo.
19 Then answered Yahweh, and said to his people:Behold me! sending you the corn, and the new wine and the oil, so shall ye be satisfied therewith; and I will not make you, any more, a reproach among the nations.
19 O Senhor respondeu ao seu povo: “Eis que lhes envio o cereal, o vinho e o azeite, e vocês ficarão satisfeitos. Nunca mais farei de vocês motivo de zombaria entre as nações.
20 And, the Northerner, will I remove far from you, and drive him into a land parched and desolate, with, his face, toward the eastern sea, and, his rear, toward the hinder sea,then shall come up his ill odour, yea his stench, shall ascend, because he hath shown himself great in doing.
20 Mas o invasor que vem do Norte, eu o removerei para longe de vocês e o lançarei para uma terra seca e deserta. Lançarei a sua vanguarda para o mar oriental, e a sua retaguarda, para o mar ocidental. Subirá o seu mau cheiro, e subirá a sua podridão; porque agiu poderosamente.”
21 Be not thou afraid, O soil,exult and rejoice, because Yahweh, hath shown himself great, in doing.
21 “Não tenha medo, ó terra; alegre-se e exulte, porque o faz grandes coisas.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field, for sprouted have the pastures of the wilderness,for, the tree, hath borne its fruit, the fig-tree and the vine, have yielded their wealth.
22 Não tenham medo, animais selvagens, porque os pastos do deserto reverdecerão, porque as árvores darão os seus frutos, as figueiras e as videiras produzirão com vigor.
23 Ye sons of Zion, then, exult and be glad in Yahweh your God, for he hath given you the seed-rain, in right manner,Yea he hath caused to descend for you a down-pour, of seed-rain and of the harvest-rain in the first month;
23 Filhos de Sião, alegrem-se e exultem no porque ele lhes dará as chuvas em justa medida; fará descer, como no passado, as primeiras e as últimas chuvas.
24 So shall the threshing-floors, be filled, with corn,and the vats, overflow, with new wine and oil.
24 As eiras se encherão de trigo, e os lagares transbordarão de vinho e de azeite.
25 Then will I make good to you the years which were eaten by the swarming locust, the grass locust, and the corn locust and the creeping locust,even my great army, which I sent among you.
25 Restituirei os anos que foram consumidos pelos gafanhotos — o migrador, o devorador e o destruidor —, o meu grande exército que enviei contra vocês.
26 And ye shall eat and eat, and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of Yahweh your God, who hath dealt with you wondrously,so shall my people, not be abashed, unto times age-abiding.
26 Vocês terão comida em abundância e ficarão satisfeitos, e louvarão o nome do seu Deus, que fez maravilhas em favor de vocês. E nunca mais o meu povo será envergonhado.
27 So shall ye know that, in the midst of Israel, I am, and that, I, Yahweh, am your God, and none else,and my people, shall not be abashed, unto times age-abiding.
27 Vocês saberão que eu estou no meio de Israel, e que eu sou o o Deus de vocês, e que não há outro. E nunca mais o meu povo será envergonhado.”
28 And it shall come to pass, afterwards, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters, shall prophesy,your old men, shall dream, dreams, your young men, shall see, visions;
28 “E acontecerá, depois disso, que derramarei o meu Espírito sobre toda a humanidade. Os filhos e as filhas de vocês profetizarão, os seus velhos sonharão, e os seus jovens terão visões.
29 Moreover also, upon the servants and upon the handmaidsin those days, will I pour out my spirit;
29 Até sobre os servos e sobre as servas derramarei o meu Espírito naqueles dias.
30 And I will set forth wonders in the heavens, and in the earth,blood, and fire, and columns of smoke:
30 Mostrarei prodígios no céu e na terra: sangue, fogo e colunas de fumaça.
31 The sun, shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,before the coming of the great and awful day of Yahweh.
31 O sol se transformará em trevas, e a lua, em sangue, antes que venha o grande e terrível Dia do
32 And it shall come to pass, whosoever, shall call on the name of Yahweh, shall be delivered,For in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, shall be a delivered remnant, just as Yahweh hath said, and among the survivors, whom Yahweh doth call.
32 E acontecerá que todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo. Porque, no monte Sião e em Jerusalém, estarão os que forem salvos, como o Senhor prometeu; e, entre os sobreviventes, aqueles que o Senhor chamar.
