1 Blow ye a horn in Zion, sound an alarm in my holy mountain, let all the inhabitants of the land, tremble,for coming is the day of Yahweh, for it is near!
1 Tocai a trombeta em Sião e dai voz de rebate no meu santo monte; perturbem-se todos os moradores da terra, porque o Dia do Senhor vem, já está próximo;
2 A day of obscurity and deep gloom, a day of cloud, and thick darkness, as dusk, spread over the mountains,a people, many and bold, like whom, hath not been from age-past times, and, after whom, shall not be again unto the years of generation after generation.
2 dia de escuridade e densas trevas, dia de nuvens e negridão! Como a alva por sobre os montes, assim se difunde um povo grande e poderoso, qual desde o tempo antigo nunca houve, nem depois dele haverá pelos anos adiante, de geração em geração.
3 Before him, hath a fire, devoured, and, after him, shall a flame, consume,As the garden of Eden, is the land before him, but, after him, a desert most desolate, Moreover also, escape, giveth he none.
3 À frente dele vai fogo devorador, atrás, chama que abrasa; diante dele, a terra é como o jardim do Éden; mas, atrás dele, um deserto assolado. Nada lhe escapa.
4 As the appearance of horses, is his appearance, and, as war-horses, so, shall they run:
4 A sua aparência é como a de cavalos; e, como cavaleiros, assim correm.
5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains, shall they rattle along, like the noise of a flame of fire, devouring dry straw,like a people bold, arrayed for battle.
5 Estrondeando como carros, vêm, saltando pelos cimos dos montes, crepitando como chamas de fogo que devoram o restolho, como um povo poderoso posto em ordem de combate.
6 Because of him, shall peoples, be in anguish,all faces, have withdrawn their colour.
6 Diante deles, tremem os povos; todos os rostos empalidecem.
7 Like heroes, shall they run, like men of war, shall they mount a wall,and, every onealong his own road, shall they march along, and shall not change their paths;
7 Correm como valentes; como homens de guerra, sobem muros; e cada um vai no seu caminho e não se desvia da sua fileira.
8 Nor, against each other, shall they strike, Eachon his own highway, shall they march,though, in among the weapons, they fall, they shall not stop.
8 Não empurram uns aos outros; cada um segue o seu rumo; arremetem contra lanças e não se detêm no seu caminho.
9 Upon the city, shall they leap, on the wall, shall they run, up the houses, shall they climb,through the windows, shall they enter, like a thief,
9 Assaltam a cidade, correm pelos muros, sobem às casas; pelas janelas entram como ladrão.
10 Before him, hath quaked the earth, have trembled the heavens,the sun and the moon, have become dark, and, the stars, have withdrawn their shining;
10 Diante deles, treme a terra, e os céus se abalam; o sol e a lua se escurecem, e as estrelas retiram o seu resplendor.
11 And, Yahweh, hath uttered his voice, before his host, for great indeed is his camp, for bold is he who executeth his word,for great is the day of Yahweh, and awful exceedingly, Who then shall endure it?
11 O Senhor levanta a voz diante do seu exército; porque muitíssimo grande é o seu arraial; porque é poderoso quem executa as suas ordens; sim, grande é o Dia do Senhor e mui terrível! Quem o poderá suportar?
12 Even now, therefore, urgeth Yahweh, Turn ye unto me, with all your heart,and with fasting and with weeping, and with lamentation;
12 Ainda assim, agora mesmo, diz o Senhor : Convertei-vos a mim de todo o vosso coração; e isso com jejuns, com choro e com pranto.
13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, turn therefore, unto Yahweh your God,for, gracious and full of compassion, is he, slow to anger, and abundant in loving- kindness, and will grieve over calamity.
13 Rasgai o vosso coração, e não as vossas vestes, e convertei-vos ao Senhor , vosso Deus, porque ele é misericordioso, e compassivo, e tardio em irar-se, e grande em benignidade, e se arrepende do mal.
14 Who knoweth, he may turn and grieve,and leave behind him, a blessing, a meal-offering and a drink-offering, to Yahweh your God?
14 Quem sabe se não se voltará, e se arrependerá, e deixará após si uma bênção, uma oferta de manjares e libação para o Senhor , vosso Deus?
15 Blow ye a horn, in Zion,hallow a fast, call a solemn assembly:
15 Tocai a trombeta em Sião, promulgai um santo jejum, proclamai uma assembleia solene.
16 Gather the people, hallow a convocation, collect the elders, gather the children, and the sucklings of the breasts,let the bridegroom, come forth, from his chamber, and the bride from her bower:
16 Congregai o povo, santificai a congregação, ajuntai os anciãos, reuni os filhinhos e os que mamam; saia o noivo da sua recâmara, e a noiva, do seu aposento.
17 Between the porch and the altar, let the priests, weep, the attendants of Yahweh,and let them sayLook with pity, O Yahweh, upon thy people, and do not deliver thine inheritance to reproach, that the nations, should mock them, Why should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
17 Chorem os sacerdotes, ministros do Senhor , entre o pórtico e o altar, e orem: Poupa o teu povo, ó Senhor , e não entregues a tua herança ao opróbrio, para que as nações façam escárnio dele. Por que hão de dizer entre os povos: Onde está o seu Deus?
18 And Yahweh became jealous for his land,and took pity on his people;
18 Então, o Senhor se mostrou zeloso da sua terra, compadeceu-se do seu povo
19 Then answered Yahweh, and said to his people:Behold me! sending you the corn, and the new wine and the oil, so shall ye be satisfied therewith; and I will not make you, any more, a reproach among the nations.
19 e, respondendo, lhe disse: Eis que vos envio o cereal, e o vinho, e o óleo, e deles sereis fartos, e vos não entregarei mais ao opróbrio entre as nações.
20 And, the Northerner, will I remove far from you, and drive him into a land parched and desolate, with, his face, toward the eastern sea, and, his rear, toward the hinder sea,then shall come up his ill odour, yea his stench, shall ascend, because he hath shown himself great in doing.
20 Mas o exército que vem do Norte, eu o removerei para longe de vós, lançá-lo-ei em uma terra seca e deserta; lançarei a sua vanguarda para o mar oriental, e a sua retaguarda, para o mar ocidental; subirá o seu mau cheiro, e subirá a sua podridão; porque agiu poderosamente.
21 Be not thou afraid, O soil,exult and rejoice, because Yahweh, hath shown himself great, in doing.
21 Não temas, ó terra, regozija-te e alegra-te, porque o Senhor faz grandes coisas.
22 Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field, for sprouted have the pastures of the wilderness,for, the tree, hath borne its fruit, the fig-tree and the vine, have yielded their wealth.
22 Não temais, animais do campo, porque os pastos do deserto reverdecerão, porque o arvoredo dará o seu fruto, a figueira e a vide produzirão com vigor.
23 Ye sons of Zion, then, exult and be glad in Yahweh your God, for he hath given you the seed-rain, in right manner,Yea he hath caused to descend for you a down-pour, of seed-rain and of the harvest-rain in the first month;
23 Alegrai-vos, pois, filhos de Sião, regozijai-vos no Senhor , vosso Deus, porque ele vos dará em justa medida a chuva; fará descer, como outrora, a chuva temporã e a serôdia.
24 So shall the threshing-floors, be filled, with corn,and the vats, overflow, with new wine and oil.
24 As eiras se encherão de trigo, e os lagares transbordarão de vinho e de óleo.
25 Then will I make good to you the years which were eaten by the swarming locust, the grass locust, and the corn locust and the creeping locust,even my great army, which I sent among you.
25 Restituir-vos-ei os anos que foram consumidos pelo gafanhoto migrador, pelo destruidor e pelo cortador, o meu grande exército que enviei contra vós outros.
26 And ye shall eat and eat, and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of Yahweh your God, who hath dealt with you wondrously,so shall my people, not be abashed, unto times age-abiding.
26 Comereis abundantemente, e vos fartareis, e louvareis o nome do Senhor , vosso Deus, que se houve maravilhosamente convosco; e o meu povo jamais será envergonhado.
27 So shall ye know that, in the midst of Israel, I am, and that, I, Yahweh, am your God, and none else,and my people, shall not be abashed, unto times age-abiding.
27 Sabereis que estou no meio de Israel e que eu sou o Senhor , vosso Deus, e não há outro; e o meu povo jamais será envergonhado.
28 And it shall come to pass, afterwards, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters, shall prophesy,your old men, shall dream, dreams, your young men, shall see, visions;
28 E acontecerá, depois, que derramarei o meu Espírito sobre toda a carne; vossos filhos e vossas filhas profetizarão, vossos velhos sonharão, e vossos jovens terão visões;
29 Moreover also, upon the servants and upon the handmaidsin those days, will I pour out my spirit;
29 até sobre os servos e sobre as servas derramarei o meu Espírito naqueles dias.
30 And I will set forth wonders in the heavens, and in the earth,blood, and fire, and columns of smoke:
30 Mostrarei prodígios no céu e na terra: sangue, fogo e colunas de fumaça.
31 The sun, shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,before the coming of the great and awful day of Yahweh.
31 O sol se converterá em trevas, e a lua, em sangue, antes que venha o grande e terrível Dia do Senhor .
32 And it shall come to pass, whosoever, shall call on the name of Yahweh, shall be delivered,For in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, shall be a delivered remnant, just as Yahweh hath said, and among the survivors, whom Yahweh doth call.
32 E acontecerá que todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo; porque, no monte Sião e em Jerusalém, estarão os que forem salvos, como o Senhor prometeu; e, entre os sobreviventes, aqueles que o Senhor chamar.
