Isaías 41

1 Be silent unto me, O ye Coastlands, lands, And let the Races of Men renew their strength,Let them approach, then, let them speak, Together, for controversy, let us draw near:
1 O Senhor Deus diz: “Povos das nações distantes, calem-se e escutem! Renovem as suas forças e venham prontos para defender a sua causa. Vamos nos reunir para resolver com quem está a razão.
2 Who roused up one from the East, In righteousness, called him to his feet,Set before him nations And over kings, caused him to rule, His sword, made like dust, His bow like driven chaff:
2 “Quem foi que trouxe do Oriente esse rei que sempre sai vitorioso? Quem fez com que ele derrotasse as nações e com que reis fossem vencidos por ele? Com a sua espada e as suas flechas, ele os faz virar pó e faz com que fujam como se fossem a palha que é levada pelo vento.
3 He pursued them passed along safely,Upon the path of his own feet, entered he not?
3 Ele os persegue e avança seguro; ele anda tão depressa, que os seus pés quase não tocam no chão.
4 Who hath wrought and performed, Calling the generations, in advance? I, Yahweh, First, And with them who are last, I, am the Same!
4 Quem planejou isso e fez com que tudo acontecesse? Quem resolveu o que se passaria no mundo desde o princípio? Fui eu, o que estava lá quando tudo começou e que lá estarei quando tudo terminar.”
5 Coastlands have seen, so they fear, The ends of the earth, are in dread,They have drawn near, and have come:
5 As nações distantes viram o que aconteceu, e todos os povos tremeram de medo. Então se juntaram e vieram.
6 Every man, to his neighbour, giveth help,And to his brother, saith Take courage!
6 Os que fazem imagens se ajudam uns aos outros, cada um procura animar o seu companheiro.
7 So, the carver, hath encouraged, the goldsmith, he that maketh smooth with the hammer, him that smiteth the anvil,Saying of the welding, It is, good, Then hath he fastened it with nailsit must not totter!
7 O escultor anima o ourives; aquele que bate o ferro com o martelo elogia o que solda o ídolo. E diz: “Que trabalho bem-feito!” E com pregos fixam a imagem no lugar para que não caia.
8 But, thou, Israel, my Servant, Jacob whom I have chosen,The seed of Abraham my loving one;
8 O Senhor diz ao povo de Israel: “Você é o meu o povo que eu escolhi; vocês são descendentes de Abraão, meu amigo.
9 Thou whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, And from the extremities thereof, have called thee,And said to thee, My Servant, thou! I have chosen thee and not cast thee off,
9 Eu os trouxe dos fins da terra, dos lugares mais distantes do mundo, e lhes disse: ‘Vocês são os meus servos.’ Eu os escolhi e nunca os rejeitei.
10 Do not fear, for with thee, I am! Look not around, for, I, am thy God,I have emboldened thee, Yea I have helped thee, Yea I have upheld thee with my righteous right-hand.
10 Não fiquem com medo, pois estou com vocês; não se apavorem, pois eu sou o seu Deus. Eu lhes dou forças e os ajudo; eu os protejo com a minha forte mão.
11 Lo! they shall turn pale and be ashamedAll they who have been incensed against thee,They shall become as nothing and perishThe men who have been thine accusers:
11 “Todos os seus inimigos serão derrotados e humilhados; todos os que lutam contra vocês serão destruídos e morrerão.
12 Thou shalt seek them, but shalt not find themThe men who have contended with thee, They shall become as nothing, and as a thing of noughtThe men who have warred against thee;
12 Se vocês procurarem os seus inimigos, não os acharão, pois todos eles terão desaparecido.
13 For I, Yahweh thy God am firmly grasping thy right-hand,Who am saying unto thee Do not fear! I, have become thy helper!
13 Eu sou o Senhor , o Deus de vocês; eu os seguro pela mão e lhes digo: ‘Não fiquem com medo, pois eu os ajudo.’ ”
14 Do not fear, Thou worm Jacob, Ye men of Israel,I, have become thy helper, Declareth Yahweh, And thy redeemer The Holy One of Israel.
14 O Senhor diz ao seu povo: “Você é pequeno e fraquinho, mas não tenha medo, pois eu, o Santo Deus de Israel, sou o seu Salvador e o protegerei.
15 Lo! I have made of thee a new pointed threshing sledge, owning teeth,Thou shalt thresh mountains and crush them, And, hillslike chaff, shalt thou make:
15 Farei com que você seja como uma máquina de debulhar trigo, que tem pontas de ferro novas e afiadas: você passará sobre os montes, eles virarão pó, e as montanhas ficarão como palha.
16 Thou shalt fan them and, a wind, shall carry them away, And, a whirlwind, scatter, them,But, thou, shalt exult in Yahweh, And, in the Holy One of Israel, shalt thou boast thyself.
16 Você os jogará para cima, o vento os levará, e a ventania os espalhará. Então você ficará alegre porque eu, o e você louvará a mim, o Santo Deus de Israel.
17 As for the oppressed and the needy. Seeking water when there is none, Their tongue with thirst being parched IYahweh, will answer them, The God of Israel, I will not forsake them:
17 “Quando o meu povo, pobre e necessitado, procurar água e não encontrar; quando a boca deles estiver seca de sede, eu, o eu, o Deus de Israel, não os abandonarei.
18 I will open, On bare hills rivers, and In the midst of plains, fountains,I will make The desert, a lake of water, and Parched land, springs of water;
18 Farei com que brotem fontes nos vales e com que rios corram pelas montanhas onde não há plantas. Farei com que os desertos virem lagos e com que nas terras secas haja muitos poços.
19 I will set in the desert! Cedar, acacia, and myrtle, and oil-tree,I will place, in the waste plain, Cypress, holm-oak, and sherbin-cedar, together
19 Plantarei árvores no deserto: cedros, acácias, nas terras secas, farei crescer pinheiros, junto com os zimbros e ciprestes.
20 That men may see and observe and consider and understand at once, That, the hand of Yahweh, hath done this, That the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
20 Todos verão o que aconteceu e ficarão sabendo que fui eu, o Todos pensarão bem e entenderão que tudo isso foi feito pelo Santo Deus de Israel.”
21 Bring near your contention, Saith Yahweh,Advance your defences, Saith the King of Jacob:
21 O Senhor , o Rei de Israel, diz: “Deuses das nações, venham apresentar a sua causa e fazer a sua defesa.
22 Let them advance them, and tell us, What shall happen,Things known in advancewhat they were, tell ye, That we may lay them to our heart and mark the after-story of them, Or, things yet to come, let us hear:
22 Venham e nos digam o que vai acontecer; expliquem também as para que nós fiquemos sabendo se elas se cumpriram. Ou então digam o que vai acontecer no futuro, e assim nós poderemos ver se vai dar certo.
23 Tell ye the events which shall be here-after, That we may perceive that gods, ye are,Surely ye must do somethinggood or bad, That we may be amazed and behold it, at once.
23 Anunciem as coisas que vão acontecer daqui em diante a fim de provar que vocês são deuses de fato. Façam o que quiserem, seja bom ou seja mau, para que fiquemos com medo e cheios de pavor.
24 Lo! ye, are, of nought, And your work is a puff of breath,An abomination, he that chooseth you!
24 Mas vocês não são nada! Vocês não podem fazer nada! Eu detesto aqueles que os adoram!
25 I have roused up one from the North, and he hath come, From the rising of the sun, calleth he on my Name,And he hath come, on deputies, as though they were mortar, And as a potter treadeth clay.
25 “Fui eu que chamei um homem que mora no Oriente ; ele confia em mim e vem do Norte para atacar os seus inimigos. Ele pisa em cima de reis como se fossem lama; ele os trata como um oleiro que amassa o barro com os pés.
26 Who hath told in advance, that we might know, And beforetime, that we might say Right! Nay, there is none who can tell. Nay, there is none who can let us hear, Nay, there is none who can understand what ye utter.
26 Será que algum de vocês anunciou que isso ia acontecer, para que nós ficássemos sabendo? Algum deus falou disso no passado para que nós disséssemos: ‘Ele tinha razão’? Nenhuma imagem anunciou nada a respeito disso, nenhuma nos avisou; não ouvimos vocês dizerem nem uma só palavra.
27 He who is First, , To Zion, Lo! there they are! And to Jerusalem, A herald of good-tidings, do I give.
27 Pois eu anunciei isso a Sião desde o começo, eu mandei um mensageiro espalhar essas boas notícias em Jerusalém.
28 So I look, And there is not, a Man! Even among these And there is none to advise,That, when I ask them, can answer a word.
28 Eu procuro os deuses, mas nenhum deles aparece; nenhum deles pode dar explicações ou responder às perguntas que faço.
29 Lo! as to all of them, Vanitynothingness, are their works, Wind and emptiness, their molten images!
29 Eles não são nada! Eles não podem fazer nada! Essas imagens são coisas sem vida e sem valor.”
